  • In 2018, I got 8 9s and 1 8 in my GCSEs - there were certain things that I did that helped me with this in particular, allowing me to have a work-life balance whilst also getting amazing grades. Be sure to grab a pen and paper and make a few notes on how you can also achieve grade 9s in all of your GCSEs. Best of luck!

This video is very useful - effective revision helped me raise a grade over time from a 4 to now being predicted an 8. Just to add another tip in-case it helps anyone, avoid reading too much regarding grades on forums. These forums are full of individuals who lie about their grades to make themselves look good, and make you feel inferior when you are achieving much less. If you do the math, only 3,000-6,000 individuals get a grade 9 in a year, so unless these forums are accessed by nearly all individuals with a grade 9, there must be some lies!
Good luck to anyone who's sitting their GCSE's this year, you've got this!

    • @SmileWithSola

I used to struggle with quantitive chemistry as well until I understood that it’s basically the same question over and over again rephrased. Keep doing exam questions on it and go through it with your teacher until you understand. Also watch TH-cam videos where people go through mole calculations. Essentially it’s about practice so that you are prepared for any kind of question!

I got grade 6s and 5s across my performance grades but I will achieve higher so I’m aiming for 7s and 8s for my next mocks which will be soon. I will come back to update you on what I got and if I improved. 😊😖👍🏾 btw I chose Business, Triple Science and Citizenship (and doing higher tier for both maths and science)

I think you really have to put in the work from now on to get all grade 9s but its definitely possible. It will be a hard few months but you will get through it. Be sure not to push yourself beyond your limits. Prioritise those subjects you find the hardest and do exam questions every single day. You've got this!!

How to get grade 9 in gcse exams:
    Stage 1: establish priorities
    - for each subject note down the topics in the order of how hard you find them to be
    - use mocks to identify weaknesses
Stage 2: time tabling and scheduling
    - Work on your weakest subject the most often with maximum 3-4 hour study sessions daily
    Stage 3: effective cramming
    - for maths practice as much as you can and do as many past paper questions as you can.
    - for science based subjects focus on what topics you don't know. Don't waste time on stuff that you already know! Do exam questions consistently
    - for essay based subjects focus on how to actually answer the question (format) and know the content throughly. Practice writing essays under Timed conditions and have your teacher mark it. Use blurting and mind maps.
    Stage 4: exam questions
    - focus on why you got something wrong
    - ask for help
