the afterschool slump is SO REAL! I've been feeling it a lot more this year since we're getting closer and closer to exams so this video is definitely needed!!!
My brain relies on motivation and I started doing this technique- lay in the floor for 5 mins, go study for 20, go lay on the floor for 5 and revise for 20. The reason why this works is because you will get so bored of just lying on the floor doing nothing that you’ll want to study (called the pomodoro technique)
I cannot recommend enough using the library (esp. the quiet floor/space) and cafes when studying at uni. I noticed whenever I was working on coursework/revising in my room I procrastinated a LOT. Changing up the spaces you use to study/work if you're a chronic procrastinator is very helpful. And definitely ask coursemates or flatmates to check up on you or do study sessions so you're up to date and accountable.
Such a Problem for me at the Moment! I come back from school exhausted and do nothing, and then it goes in a cycle of me being demotivated the next day as ive done so little! Really scary with the exams so close.
This really helped me alot! Especially the 5 minute rule. There are times when I try to learn and I feel like nothing is going to my head and I end up not learning anything because I feel I have to learn for atleast 2hrs,sometimes I end up forcing myself and I’m really stressed out the next day but this really helped me.Thank you so much!!!
"you can't expect yourself to go from 5 mins to 1 hour the next day" omg, great point. I kept putting off my studies thinking about how many hours left in the month, in the week, in the day and by the end of the month I actually expected myself to be putting in 4-6 hour periods of studying, when in reality I should be forming a habit by at least studying every day.
I found you today when I waß randomised scrolling without studying. Let me take this as a sign ...to go and learn . This really helps me as I have a few exams on 14th of this month so yeah ...
I've been watching a lot of study videos recently, because I have entrance exams coming up and my ''dream'' school might be a little more difficult to get in, so I need some motivation and tips. This video gave me tips that are easy to implement and you explained them so well! I'll be using them, especially because I can't get myself motivated enough. Thank you!! :3
I am binge watching your videos as my son is in year 11 and is finding the homework load really tough never mind the revision that he hasn't done because of the amount of homework! I am not a naturally organised person either, and I remember struggling with this when I was in year 11. I want him to be more organised than me, and I think year 11 is when this becomes really important. I love your videos! You're really relatable and clearly a very bright young lady. Thank you!
Something i definitely recommend is studying at cafes, it might just be me but I love me a drink and a study session somewhere public so it motivates me
thank you for this! my school has created an intervention that I don't find useful, so my day is even longer and tiring now. this video has been helpful 😊
Thank you SO MUCH for this video!! It could NOT have come at a better time since I am ULTRA demotivated to study for my mocks soon and the IGCSE's in a few months. My fave tip is tip 1. To add to tip 4, if you use your computer to play around and then u expect urself to work on it, ok. but then work on a play computer with 50 thousand windows, that's just too much. The computer is BASSICALLY this close to sucking your soul and giving u the dementors kiss if you don't submit to your urges to go on it. Enjoy ur day/night:)) Wishing those whose read this great success and happiness in their endeavors:)))
This is genuinely so helpful!! I always feel so tired after school I can't even keep my eyes open, but i've started going to cafes after school to revise and i get so much more done. Thank you!
thank you so much for this, I was really struggling since I didn't have any study habits back in high school and now I recently got into college. I'm way more motivated and focused after this video
I am so excited to watch this video, I will love to do it everyday after school. Basically I don’t really study 📚 after school and I will like to try check it out today, hope it goes well with me. Thank you so much for the help to all students who are interested in working their study out for good. Love it ❤❤
the video just pops up in the right time! definitely, i've been searching the tips how can i get rid from the tired after school, yk bcs idk how to do it, i always do my homework in school and it suckss!😭 thanks for the tips, it really helpful
i have classes from 7am to 3pm most days and i’m a compsci major so everyday is exhausting lol it’s really hard for me to start when i come back home and i’ve noticed staying in college helps honestly
The thing is that I feel productive when I'm on campus so if I know I need to study I'm just honest with myself that I'm not going to get effective studying at home so I just stay after school and go to the library
Thankfully youtube rec this video to me at this moment, it is exactly the prob im facing with rn, thank u so much for this ill try to apply your tips from now on
i wish i knew all of this last year before my GCSE because although i am happy with my grades, i know i could've done better. but i am certain that this will help with my a-levels, thank you so much and good luck to everyone sitting exams later this year
I love you’re videos so much-they motivate me to work hard and I feel like I’m capable of achieving those amazing grades thanks to ur advice!! keep going ur such an inspiration💖💖
Thank you for taking the time to do this video it's rly helpful! I just want to correct two things. Maybe don't watch videos or go gaming to "relax". Your brain doesn't actually relax while doing this. You might notice yourself that you don't feel recharged after scrolling on insta for an hour. I recommend drawing/writing, dancing, crafts, etc. (These are just the things I like to do.) As long as you're rly relaxing! (It's called active relaxation) Secondly, impressing your parents or wanting to be the first to go to uni are examples of extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic would be: I want to study this because *I* find it exciting, I want to expand *my* mind, *I'm* passionate about this topic. You do it for *yourself*! And believe me, you can find intrinsic motivation even for topics you don't like, if you just think about it for a while. Once you do find that motivation studying will get much more enjoyable!
Thank you SO much for this video. We really appreciate the effort you put into making all of these, and I've learnt a lot from the other videos on your channel too! My main issue right now is fatigue after school, so I can't get any work done no matter how long I sit at my desk. This comes at a great time since there's only 10 (!!) weeks of school left, so I really appreciate this :)
I’m definitely subscribing I have a feeling watching your vids will help me improve my academic life ima year 10 student which the pressure is coming and I’m a bit scared I’m not the smartest but I really want to do really well for my gcse
Thanks!!I don't know English property, but a understand a lot of from this video and it helped me.Of course,in Russian TH-cam a lot of useful information too,but in American or European it more comfortable, actual and really help.Thats why i prefer to watch videos from other countries:) I hope i didn't too much mistakes
Thank you sooo much for this. This is such a straight to the point way of putting it. I was literally procrastinating so much but now I feel so much more motivated to revise. Thank you!! 🙏💖
nowimagine training at the gym 5 times a week and working beside your studies to financially support yourself, how on earth do people do that? i'm on the edge of breaking down.
Oh my goodness I’ve done my GSCES but I watched as I’m learning to drive and thought maybe this could help. When you mentioned the 5 minute rule I told myself to pause the video and do 5 minutes of theory. I ended up doing 30😂. Thank you this is super helpful.
