One correction: Logan had been poisoned by adamantium for years, but his healing factor completely negated its effects. The tainted corn syrup weakened his healing factor, and allowed the adamantium poison to start killing him.
Yes thanks you! It was metal posion him not serum. The Serum suppress the x genes in next generation that why no Mutants were for last 25 years. The Mutants that were left, were hunt down and ones that left alone that weren't strong enough to bother with. I doubt the serum the posion him but if wanted Mutant babies they wouldn't be Mutants.
This film broke me when I first saw it, I never imagined the end of wolverines story would be so touching. Hugh Jackman did justice to that role like no other actor could ever do again.
Yea I was in second grade when X1 came out and Wolverine was always my favorite. With cinema following a gross trend in my adulthood, he is one of my few unsoiled heros who's legacy wasn't subverted like Indy and Luke.
Hugh Jackman should’ve won an Oscar for this. When he’s standing by Charles’s grave trying to eulogize gets me every time.
You probably shouldn't sign a contract with Wolverine because of his retractable clause.
*BA-DUM-TSSSS*
🤦
Hahahah that's nice
You need to be stopped.

The Logan trailer with Johnny Cash’s Hurt is by far my favorite movie trailer of all time. I still pull it up on TH-cam
You seen the Logan style Endgame trailer with the same song, that's a heartbreaker.
Me too.
I was in a very dark place that time. I used to watch that on a daily basis cause it reminded me of the pain
Well, Ryan was right when they said that they wouldn’t touch Logan. He didn’t say anything about Deadpool touching it, though…
Deadpool touched him all over
They did though, the kids he saved all died so basically the logan story was for nothing
@@ThePc-DjHubLogan doesn’t know that , it wasn’t for nothing, it was for him
It's even sadder that Charles called Logan "Brutus", since it's a version of Logan that'll land the final blow to Charles, much like Brutus did to Caesar
"et tu brute?"
Toughen up king, here you dropped this 👑, let this be the last time we catch you mangled on your knees. 🤝🤝🤝
Something that always broke my heart was that it was prophesied that Logan would die with his heart in his hands (I think in The Wolverine???), and Laura was holding his hand as he died. Such a sweet and heartbreaking detail.
I saw Logan at the late showing opening night at a little independent cinema and as a fun little nod, the showing was at 10:23pm
A nod to what
@@dobi287x:23
X:23
Wtf! That's crazy!
@dobi287 yeah, 10 is x in roman numerals so 10:23 = x-23
Definitely the greatest Fox X-Men film and omg I did NOT expect it to make me cry
it is kind of crazy to think that the screenplay for this movie was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2018 Oscars. I was shocked watching the nomination ceremony when it was called to be a nominate.
WOW
@@darkneon5637Bro liked his own reply
My girlfriend was literally crying from the moment Logan was impaled on the tree just from how emotional his death was. It took almost 45 minutes of consoling 😂😢 and er saw it in theaters, our whole audience was in shambles
I went alone because im a day 1 wolverine fan. I was sobbing so hard leaving the theatre that i had to stop and lean on the wall in the hallway. This poor young kid with a broom came around the corner, took one look at me, and turned around and left the area. Hahhaha
When Charles is having his rants, I always pictured it as him tapping into a tv or radio and repeating what he’s hearing as someone else is flicking through
I've watched Logan less often than the 2 Deadpool movies that surround it, because it makes me cry. Especially the line "Daddy". 😭 I have been a fan of Wolverine as long as I can remember. I watched X-Men cartoons as a small child and had the action figures, too.
36:37 The golden eye color could also be a callback to X2 when you would know anybody with silver eyes was under the control of striker.
I love the idea that Wade was the 1 who facilites the plan for mutant kids to get refuge in Canada and since Logan knew Wade was the 1 helping with the comics he wouldn't believe it
For people wondering where they shot the gas station and the scenes of the smelting plant, the were shot at Tohajiilee NM. The gas station is called Laguna Burger. My cousin took photos with Hugh Jackman while shooting there. And my uncle got to go to the smelting plant and watch the filming for those scenes. Also for the scenes in the high school gym, they shot those scenes at Hornets High School in Albuquerque NM.
That's super cool
Awesome
what scenes were those?
That's awesome, seems a lot of great stuff was filmed near Tohajiilee, Breaking Bad was too
Logan is peak Marvel Cinema. It's funny to watch this after Deadpool 3. Which was also great!
Deadpool 3 was trash compared to logan
I’m so glad x-23 wasn’t Milly Bobby Brown
Why..?
@@Riprocproductions95Because Drake wasn't in it
@@The-Roman-EmpireI was hoping someone said it 😂😂😂
What about Bobby Brown, he could’ve been cool 😂
That woulda been terrible
39:35 they lied lol 😂
I genuinely feel Hugh Jackman was snubbed from an Oscar nomination for this movie
I'm surprised you didn't point out that what happened to the Munson's mirrored the Hudson's in Origins: Wolverine
Bobby having a Wolverine figure at the end FUCKKED ME UP
A top 5 best comic book film for me, absolutely phenomenal.
This movie made me cry! It related so much to my life… in a way.
It's hard for movies to make me cry but this is one that did it
You know what, I always cry, always. You just made me realize why. "Don't be what they made you". Yeah, pretty sure I related to that.
You have ademantium claws!???
My cloned daughter having to bury me takes me back as well. Totally understand
@@mreshadow just like yesterdie! Lol
Noting " they are waiting at the statue of liberty" yes call back to older x-men movie but could also reference the motel gabriela and laura are staying at.
Logan uses the same Marvel intro from X-Men The Last Stand.
Greenwood cemetery isn’t just a cemetery in Brooklyn in marvel comics, it’s a real cemetery in downtown Brooklyn
The spinny thing on the firetruck are in use even today. We have them in Asheville NC.
Same. They’ve been around lol
I've seen them in floirda
I have to say, this is the first of the rewatches that actually made me feel emotions enough to shed tears in a long time.
8:50 as a Brit who is a fan of the Classic Top Gear (2002 - 2015), seeing Richard Hammond standing on a chair is very funny to me.
Logan for me is top of the top but I honestly truly wish there was a Logan trilogy with this being the finale. I would have liked to see the last 10 years or so of this timeline. So much left for my imagination but I grateful the movie we got. Seriously gold.
It took me 2 years after its release to watch it but I loved this movie. The ending makes me cry every time😢
0:26 Soooooooooooo, yeahhh, abouut thaaaatt............
i remember seeing the trailers for this when i was younger and i was so excited. i eventually got my dad to take me to see it and we both cried and its a core memory we both share. wolverine is his favorite super hero 🤣
The danger room section of this video is hilarious now that weve seen the movie lol
ryan touched it
When Logan lays professor X to rest, I always get super emotional. Incredible performance in an incredible film.
Deadpool in fact did not go on to respect Logan’s grave sight or Logan’s remains 😂
This movie was so badass i remember watching it senior year
i have seen this movie only once, on theaters, i can't see it again, it broke me
this is a masterpiece. makes me cry everytime
Been waiting for this one the most
the final scene of this movie makes me cry every single time
14:24 for anyone wondering, like he said, it is legit nonsense. I read it and it’s actually really interesting because each sentence is just a conglomeration of big words and together they just make no sense but without reading it as in just glancing at it like you’re probably supposed to, it looks like they know what they’re talking about. Just something kinda cool about behind the scenes stuff I guess.
This movie always makes me cry. even this video made me tear up.
I was generally surprised that a lot of people didn't catch that it was the corn syrup that was weakening mutants. Such be that it weakened Logan's healing factor, and I think likely caused Xavier's seizure.
To this day the Logan trailer is my favorite trailer of all time. If i ever want to hear Cash's "Hurt", i go rewatch the trailer. It was absolutely perfect
I always cry at the end. Doesnt matter how many times i see it.
My dad, who does not get heavily involved with hero movies, he got REALLY involved with this movie that he was holding back tears.
i honestly thought people were being biased when saying logan is probably the best comic book movie ever, but that’s actually not the case. i watched this movie for the first time last night after procrastinating watching it for so long and i actually agree with what people say about this movie now. it truly is one of the best comic book movies ever
40:35 And we get "Bye Bye Bye"
At the beginning Charles says "They are waiting for you at the statue of Liberty"
When Logan visits the motel there is a statue of liberty sign
😮
Fact: the font used in the opening credits is the same font used for Johnny Cash album, American VI, which contains his cover for the song Hurt, which is used in the first trailer
Logan was by far one of the best super hero movies ever made
38:25 "meta-textural simulacra" ....try using that phrase in everyday conversation.
Best X-Men Fox Franchise film! Imo the tops of the Fox Franchise (in no particular order)
- Logan
- Deadpool
- X2
- Days of Future Past
LETS GO!!!!!!
I'm hours late, but all good as I'm so ready for Deadpool and Wolverine.
ive been doing my own x-men rewatch in time order and and im gonna watch logan today!!!
“So this is what it feels like” that line always gets me
X24 looks more like sabertooth from X-Men origins Wolverine
When Laura says "Daddy.." the father in me lost it
Literally the best X-Men live action adaptation
Stan Lee would have definitely made a good cameo inside the casino.
9:15 I lol'ed at that
this was the first movie that made me cry.
Daniel Radcliffe should be a variant of wolverine as he's shorter than me at 5'5 and I am 5'7. Keanu reeves cast as ghost rider him or Norman reedus as ghost rider
I'm 5'3" the same height as wolverine.
Logan was beautiful
Logan is my favorite Marvel film. This film I have rewatched the most. It's crazy because my daughter looks like Dafnee Keen in Logan now. It's just great writing and just taking it to the real world. Using language you wouldn't hear in any other Marvel film except for Deadpool. It should have won an Oscar for best screenplay. This film is just #1 for me.
You can see x-24 is the same as sabretooth In X-men Origins: Wolverine 30:00
When Charles Xavier talks all I hear is Director Bullick from AMERICAN DAD
I think at least Jean and Colossus are dead for sure. There’s no way Logan and Charles will look so depressed when all these people are at least still alive. I think they are all dead, and only those who don’t really have close connection to the two are alive.
"Don't be what they made you." is simply one of the best, most underrated lines in any superhero film ever made.
In this snickt snickt rewatch this is the episode I've been most excited for.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
1:28 Stunt double spotted 😂😂
I have been waiting for this
7:57 I think he said a sabretooth tiger
He did, I just rewatched the movie with subtitles. That's why he's says they're extinct. Plus I think it was a wink at the name Sabertooth his nemesis.
Just rewatched for free on TH-cam. Thank you kind person who uploaded it 👍
"Ryan Reynolds *vowed* not to touch-"
Well do I have a song for you-
Bye bye bye
Your gonna make me cry again 🥺🥺
*you're
@@ThwipThwipBoom bruh I don’t you need to correct me I know what I said
I want that puppet kid scene put back in that was awesome!
Hello I’m from the future they not only touched it but damn had some fun with it 😂😂😂
This movie at the time was the closet thing we would ever get to a live action Last Of Us. I was blown away by it and it had me crying like a baby at the end. I wasn’t expecting to cry like that at a X-Men Movie. It was beautifully done and should have won several Academy Awards.
Thank you for covering this movie. I love learning all the easter eggs and behind the scenes trivia behind it. It's such a great movie and I always visit it, even if I always cry at Logan's death.
This movie continues to be, and likely always will be, one of my favorite movies of all time
When I first saw X24 walking down the stairs, I could have sworn it was Liev Schreiber.
I thought that too
Thank you for breaking down the movies. Rewatching them is so much more enjoyable! Which move is next after Logan? I'm all set for it!
3:39 that’s not buckshot…or even birdshot…that’d be gunpowder…
The spinning dials on firetrucks are actually pretty common alarms for regular modern firetrucks.
I been loving these rewatch series. Logan is one of my favorite superhero movies.
14:55 Mr. Sinister could've been the ultimate superhero movie villain if this universe continued. Imagine an X-Men film with the original X-Men cast (minus Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman) where they battle Mr. Sinister, and all the clues and post credits scenes that ended up leading nowhere, actually built up to the best X-Men film ever.
I feel like “self promoting asshole” is undeniably a reference to Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds 😂
Lolol the screenplay “they won’t bounce. They will die. “
I still rant and rave about Logan to this day, it is the best comic book movie hands down. No question nothing comes close, except the first deadpool
This movie is so damned good just watching part of Logan’s death and your description of it makes me cry.
26:57 the spinny things on the firetrucks are called roto-rays and are mainly used for grabbing attention
They have been around since the 1930's
@@michaellucas7882 I never said that they weren't I was just pointing out what they are.
He is not hanging these claws up... Wade asked him to get back in that saddle, and he said yes.
The movie showed that jackman is a world class actor
13:10 I never understood how the Adamantium bullet worked in Origins... its supposed to wipe his memories, it a bullet for what I understand Pierced Thru his adamantium skull. A normal bullet would sprout out from his skull like in X2, because it didnt went thru his skull, but How did the Adamantium Bullet from Origins come out?. I understand that Xmen franchise was always loose with its continuety, but this one is kinda crucial for Wolverines.. does his skull still had a hole from Origins, Does Adamantium heal like normal bones?
Someone like shadowcat could have pulled the bullet out of his head
