Watch Apple start selling screenless MacBooks, call it something like the Magic laptop or Magic keyboard, and then sell it for double the price of a MacBook.
This was actually one of my thoughts while watching VP connect to macbooks. Because once connected, it kinda sucks that the physical display is useless but you still need the keyboard and trackpad. But if you could remove the physical screen, then no waste. Honestly really cool and i think would be a good use scenario in like a version 2 or 3 or the regular consumer version down the line. Most ppl dont need a laptop all the time but the few times we do, just to connect to it with a “display” you already use would be cool. Like if iphones could dock with a headset and offer the same software and fidelity that vision pro does. but then when you wanna use a macbook you just “look” at it and connect.
This is exactly the first thing I thought to do when I found out the Vision Pro could be used as a virtual display for Macs. I love that you made my idea a reality! And the laptop isn’t useless if you don’t have a Vision device, you can still use it with a display at your desk if you want. Then when you get a Vision device (hopefully the cheaper Air won’t take too long) you can make the laptop portable again. Super cool!
Had my m1 MacBook Air nicely beheaded the day my Xreal air 2 was out for delivery ready to be used. Upon arrival plugged it into the USBc port and it’s the most amazing experience I had in a long time. With the beam I can make it wireless but mirroring must be turned on before unplugged. Maybe not the Vision Pro, but still awesome.
Great idea for my 2017 "FlexGate" MacBook Pro. My screen is almost unusable and it's hardly worth spending the $$ for a replacement display, so why not use it with the Vision Pro? In fact, there may be a whole new market for old MacBooks with serious display issues. My question is, is there a compatible MacOS that will work with the 2017/24 Mac/Vision Pro?
