@@tmyershandmade978 Thank you. You have really inspired me, and I know that I am not the only one that feels this way. I made my first purse today. Yippee… I even put a lining in it with 2 pockets, it is a hot mess 🤣 but when I look at it, I know the next one will be better. I used tapestry on the outside and cotton for the lining, I took and old shower curtain and used that to make a boarder around the top, I use a fabric hippie belt for the strap and Velcro for closure. Next time I will embellish it, I just wanted to get the basics down first before I move forward. It took me about 2 hours to cut it and sew it. I bought a sewing machine during the pandemic, and I’m still learning how to use it. And everything I know about sewing I leaned from generous ppl like you on TH-cam. Don’t ever stop inspiring ppl with your gifts and talent, you are doing exactly what your purpose is in life, and you will reap the harvest from it. Rudi

I call myself a master rigger. My creations are rarely replicable, which definitely slows progress , but they’re always one of a kind! And who doesn’t like that?? I’ve crafted pretty much every piece to an outfit or costume, from headress to feet jewelry, but I have never made a bag! And now I know what I was waiting for!

Tracy your work is exquisite. I just found you and I love your style and how darling you're dressed while you doing this. It completes the theme to see you wearing things you've made. The detailed instructions are much appreciated and I'm amazed that you're doing all of this with just a sewing machine... no serger or overlock, not even a rotary cutter. Goes to show we don't need ALL the fancy equipment to make beautiful things. Question... I've been making some fun things that use cut strips of lace and often the lace just comes apart because the less dense areas just don't hold together well. You don't seem to have that issue. Are you careful to just choose more durable lace to begin with? Also do you have videos where you embellish a ready made bag? I like zippers on my bags and don't want to have to sew them 😁

Thank you for your tutorials. I just found them. I've been sewing for years so I understand the why of how you are applying the lace. I'm 66 years old and am planning on doing a bag such as yours. I used to work at a fabric store and I was one of those "She who dies with largest fabric stash, wins" My cousin also worked at a different fabric store in OH and she collected trim.
