Brock and Misty having surnames is only for the dub, in the Japanese version Takeshi and Kasumi have no known surnames. This also applies for Ash, who has the last name Ketchum in the dub, while in the Japanese version Satoshi's surname is unknown.

Yeah i was gonna say this too. idk what source he screencapped but it lists Misty's name in japanese Misuti Uiriamusu (Mitsy Williams in Japanese phonetics) but that makes no sense cause her Japanese name is kasumi.

Adding to the status effect one, you can actually poison a Steel-type in Gen 2 by using Twineedle, since Steel-types were programmed to be only immune to Poison-type moves
And twineedle was the only non poison type move that could poison
And after all that time, the only way you can now poison a Steel type is to either change it's type or use Salandit or Salazzle since their abilities and attacks allow them to poison steel types and burn fire types if I'm not mistaken.
The pokeball splitting in two isnt just an early concept, it can be seen in the catch animations for Gen 2, as when you throw the ball, it splits open in two before closing back up.
It's also because the original idea of Pokéballs was based on those little vending machine capsules with toys in them.
The same idea is used for the Burger King toys too
Here's another fun fact: There are 3 mainline games to canonically feature Pizza. Those being, Sun and Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC.

I think Stunfisk is the only Pokémon actually immune to paralysis. Ground type, electric type, AND with the ability limber. You’d have to do some massive set up to get it paralyzed.

The Burn Heal vs Moon Stone thing is because of item ids. iirc, Moon Stone has a different item index number between gens 1 and 2 because... there are more items. It was mistakenly given gen 1 Moon Stone's item index number, which actually corresponds to the Burn Heal in gen 2.

You have to watch videos on Kurt's Pokéballs and how many of them are coded improperly, don't work, or have idiotically narrow ranges for what they affect.

Mr Kincaid was a prime example of “twist villain” tm before it was cool, before it was uncool.
The guy gets his underlings to jump off the moving cargo ship somehow.
The Drapion was a good boss for the game, and we had close proximity to the guy from the start of the adventure.
Cyrus and Lysandre needed to take a cue from this guy.
My own Fun Fact: Lopunny can learn Thunder Punch, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Thunder, Shock Wave and Charge Beam.

I remember the Rocket acronym in the manga. It came out of nowhere with no explanation and was referenced one more time before being forgotten.

On fact number 8, it sorta makes sense cause they are inspired in the capsule balls from the gacha machines and the anime or games never explained how a perfect ball opens without a hinge, even the toys fail to replicate them perfectly because if that

That Tentacool gift is something I don't think I'd would ever attempt naturally, so it's interesting to know they have a contingency plan for trainers attempting to possibly softlock themselves
in programming we must do stuff like this all the time, the final user tends to be... stupid sometimes

I think the original Japanes release of that game that gift Pokemon wasn’t a thing which led to people getting soft locked and it was changed shortly after that

You also forgot Team Cipher from the Orre games and the last two teams from Rangers series, Pokémon Pinchers and Societea, other than that you got most of the side game evil team
Lastly of those teams if you’ve played the games the least known would be Debonairs and Great Rocket, mainly because Debonairs is only seen in an internet only download episode, and Great Rocket is from an Japanese only game, the sequel to Pokemon Trading card game
I was also gonna comment that, Guardian Signs was my first pokemon game, Pinchers and Steelheads will always have a special place in my heart😁

It’s crazy how Pokemon can use moves that they’re unable to use and I guess it’s pretty cool
There is a possibility for Electric types to have the paralysis status despite them being immune to it: if you let your Eevee get paralyzed then evolve it into a Jolteon. 😁 (Pretty sure this works with Burn and Flareon as well.) This happened to me when I wanted to catch an Eevee in BDSP - I used Thunder Wave on it then captured it, then evolved it into a Jolteon. It was pretty funny seeing my Jolteon have the paralyzed status!

I guess you could also use Soak, which is sorta funny.
I got a Fletchinder to sustain a burn through means of evolving a burned Fletchling lol. I even made a backup of the save state with the burned Fire-type
8:12 For programming, you don't use the name of an object or entity, but an index number from a list.
For gen 1, the moon stone was item number 10 on the list, but they changed it up and the burn heal is item number 10.
Better still, you don't use an index number from a list, you use an enum type, so you don't need to remember which item is which number.

Here's an interesting one: In Gen. 1 a Pokémon cannot be inflicted by a status condition as a side effect from a damaging move if it has the same type as that attack. For example, Normal types can't be paralyzed by Body Slam

I'm more surprised at the fact that Struggle can CRIT! Imagine you manage to get your opponent to struggle and instead of KOing themselves, they land a *crit* and knock your mon out...

4:47 I mean, they were originally called 'Capsule Monsters' and some types of capsules do split open so it does makes sense for that to he conpected on.
Pretty sure I've surpassed that 345,600 money cap before, via double battling with a healer and a meowth/persian. (Meowth/persian holding amulet coin, of course.) Gen 3, at that. Always had to be sure the meowth/persian wasn't strong enough to one-shot the enemy, had the healer heal the enemy after every attack, and just kept that up for as long as my sanity could last, as I'd just restore power points, every time they ran out. Maybe it was later generation that I managed the healer trick. Don't quite remember for sure. I do know I've ground out extreme numbers that way before, though.
Normalise Thunder Wave can also paralyse Ground types. (But then Ghosts become immune, unless you use Foresight first.)
6:26 Team Snaggem is also in Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness which is where that picture comes from, as that's when they sorta join you and take out the guards at the Cipher Key Lair.

I don't blame you for forgetting Macro Cosmos. They aren't considered evil for 90% of the game and, unlike other teams who simply used their status as enterprises of foundations to disguise their nefarious goals, Macro Cosmoa is just a standard corporate conglomerate and the grunts that attack you are just staf from random departments that oleana throws at you with promises of bonuses or promotions. My favorite is the guy who was hoping to beat you and use the bonus to put a down payment on a house

I remember all of the Ranger Series Evil Teams, Team Dim Sun is my favourite of these Evil Teams.
I have a fact for you that some people might not know: The father of the protagonist in Pokemon XD has explicitly passed away. Additionally, both your father and Professor Krane had an interest in the players eventually mother during their college days. Despite this, they continued to work together even after he eventually won her over.
Going along with the Legends Arceus fact, the shirts you start with are from previous games. The male shirt is in XY, and the female shirt is from SwSh
Another thing about the Moon Ball is that every game it appeared obtainable in, Skitty wasn’t and vise versa. So Skitty and Delcatty are the only Moon Stone evolutions that can’t caught in a Moon Ball without hacks or transferring items.
For the money making fun fact, if you used Gmax Meowth with an amulet coin, you could spam gmax Pay Day and get up to a couple million at the end of each battle in the league tournament!

You could argue that the aether paradise is a forgotten evil team because Lusamine’s ideals were changed in ultra sun and moon
When randos make posts about who’s team y’d join they mostly ignore Aether Foundation.
Stuff like Yell and Star gets to be there, but Sun Moon players know there is this team too.
The battle the employees theme goes up to 11.

The rangers team was actually the Go Rock Squad. The Quads were a musical themed group of elites in the organization until becoming just a band in the other games

I would actually like Combee more if it was just one Combee for it's first stage evolution instead of three with it's current design and have the three form one as a second evolution it would also be really cool if the boy Combee could have a third evolution.

I actually like Macrocosmos as the evil team.
They even have some differences to other League staff members. The members of the secret branch od Macro Cosmos have gray hair, black sunglasses, and their Macro Cosmos shirts is underneath their jackets.

I actually knew about every one of these but the one that you actually messed up on was the 15th one the most amount of money you can get is from Scarlet and Violet which if you have everything on you you can make over $1 million from a single trainer

Pokémon Ranger was Go Rock Squad. The Go Rock Quads were just members with a band theme that were higher up than regular members.
12-year-old me would have died if they learned about the triple starter trick. I knew the item multiplying trick with the PC but OH MAN.
The team from the first Ranger game was "Go-Rock Squad". The Quads were their admins and the boss was their father! And in the second game it's Dim SUN, not Dim Sum. Unless youre just folowing the joke the characters in the game make.
And something funny about Great Rocket is they have no connection to Rocket at all.

It's not illegal to advertise to children in sweden however you can only do it during the specific advertisement breaks, so not in the middle of a cartoon for example, and this caused some problems due to pokemon being quite merchandise heavy, but ofcourse they don't really advertise specific products in the show, more so the concept as a whole which is probably why it wasn't banned for long...
well that's what 10 seconds of googling told me anyway, but as a swedish person It's very surprising to learn that the show was in fact banned as It's most certainly just as big here as anywhere else, trust me on that
i first heard about macro cosmos in pokemon masters, its a dialogue option that pops up when you talk to trainers in the trainer lodge. i thought it was a weird new competitive item and always got frustrated when it wouldnt give me a bonus when the hot topic was items lol

Well this is weird I am Swedish and have played Pokémon basically my hole life and I had no idea that it was once banned
On the first fact, I once had a Pachirisu using Bide forget Bide before unleashing Bide. But it was with a Sinnoh partner trainer double battle (original Pearl) and they knocked out Bide's target before it unleashed.
Indeed that trick is much easier to pull off using two-turn moves.

Rockets acronym is from the manga, I believe the tusks wasn’t referring to a pokemon it was referring to the team members. They are the tusks of Giovanni.

2:35 Ohh, I've done this kind of glitch so damn often in Crystal (Gameboy version and 3DS download version) to clone Pokemon and items. But I never knew you could also do that to get all of the starters. I want to start a new game again just for the sake of trying that. XD
