This guy ROCKS! This is 10/1/2019. I want to thank you for your excellent video. My son and I watched several times and did Exactly what you did. Praise the Lord, it is working. Thank you Joseph Frankel. God bless
I've used this product twice in my van when the labeling said it contained graphite. First time was in 2011 after 4 spark plugs became coated with wet combustion deposits. Found gas bubbles in the radiator coolant so was told by a local auto parts chain to use Bar's Leak since the auto repair shops won't use anything else. It worked and held up for 6 years / 15,000 miles before missing, overheating and bubbles in the radiator coolant reappeared. The second treatment has lasted 6 years / 15,000 miles. My '88 Chevy van has around 300,000 miles on it now so recently it went from running great to start/won't idle overnight. Found 4 vacuum leaks that didn't resolve the issue after being repaired so I replaced the 26 year old Duralast ICM. That helped it idle for a few seconds before stalling so replaced the original TPS and IAC. That fixed the problem so allowed the engine to idle for one hour to recharge the battery. The next morning it was back to start/ won't idle. I got it to idle by placing hard paper shims between the idle speed screw and the throttle cam then went to remove the radiator cap to check for exhaust bubbles since the engine was now missing. Saw too many bubbles so am getting ready to treat it for the third time with Bar's Leak new and improved product. I have a small vacuum gauge installed in the dash that showed 20 lbs of vacuum when idling for one hour. The next morning it now read 17 lbs at start then dropping with the pointer waving between 15 and 11 lbs while idling. It did the same thing in 2011 when cylinders 3 & 5 and 4 & 6 had coolant seepage so required non-foul plug adapters to keep the spark plugs dry while idling after adding the treatment. I'll be removing those four plugs to see how wet they are since I kept the adapters with a set of new plugs in the van just in case they'll be needed again. I have the van an Italian tune-up the day before it wouldn't idle in the morning so suspect sustained high speeds may affect the sealant plugs since the second treatment was required after driving 400 miles on the interstate with a full load in back and towing a fully loaded enclosed trailer. At that time I only removed the #5 plug to find it slightly wet with coolant so didn't bother to use the non-fouls. The missing stopped within a few minutes as the product sealed off the leaks. The plugs were new then so left them in to this date since their replacement intervals are every 30,000 miles. I'll remove #5 again to check its condition since it was the worst of the four that was affected in 2011.

I didn't want to put money into a 300K mile motor. It had a minor combustion leak in the cooling system, I was losing about 2 cups of coolant every couple of weeks. Full reservoir. Drove fine. Hello Joseph. I just watched your video. My '01 4Runner has a bad head gasket (no overheating, no white smoke and no coolant in the oil). I'm getting a misfiring code and I took the car to the mechanic and said it was the head gasket. Anyway, you did this video in 2017 and my question is,, are you still driving the car with no head gasket problems (it's been 6 years or so)? If not, how long did this product have your car running for? Thanks
This stuff works ive used it in 4-6-8cyl cars it last a long time 1/2yrs doesnt clog up if used correctly. Is always best to flush out system 1st. And on some cars it needs to go on the reservoir because theres no radiator cap. Unless u remove the upper radiator hose.
Just treated my 91 Corolla to Bar's hg1... Car runs great, doesn't overheat, but Ive noticed excessive pressure on the coolant system before its warmed up, the resevoir fills up with coolant at higher engine speedsand spills over. and there's traces of oil in the reservoir, there is steam from exhaust.. I bypassed my heater core anyway.. I also bypassed my thermally activated IAC.. (if bars hg1 stops head gasket leaks, then it's capable of clogging the IAC and heater core..) with my engine cooled off I poured a little over half the bottle directly into the head via top radiator hose. I topped off my coolant.. I let it idle for 30+ minutes.. I let it cool completely overnight.. next morning I took it for a slow easy ride for about 30 mins.. I'm sitting in it letting it cool as I type.. hope this stuff works.. hope it lasts.. my head gasket symptoms were so minor that this stuff shouldn't have any issues sealing it. If it works.... great!! If not I'm doing a tear down, and sending head to machinist, and I will never use another cure in a bottle again...
I watched another video where they added this BArr's Leak and he didn't mention anything about how much to add to the vehicle, he just poured the whole thing in. Will that hurt it or should you put in the correct amount of ounces?
The quickest and cheapest way of fixing a blown head gasket is to just pour some washing up liquid into your coolant bottle, the liquid breaks down all the oil and grease that has build up in the pipe and prevents the radiator from over heating. I did it with a taxi I used to drive the taxi had 100,000 miles on it. The garage quoted me 2000 euro for the fix. The bottle of washing up liquid only cost me 50 cents per month and I put another 90.000 miles on the car over the following 2 years. Do it, its cheap and it works.
Should I remove all the water from the radiator before adding the product, add the product and add water, or if I just add the product, does the existing water also work?
The real reason most people use this type of product is, they are trying to hide a problem before selling the car. I can't drive a car with confidence if I don't address and fix the problem, not just mask it.
It clogged my heater core. No heat now . You should pull thermostat and bypass the heater core by connecting the in and out heater hoses. Hopefully I can back flush heater core and getting it working again. Directions on those stop leak products are wrong
I have a leaky head gasket and was losing coolant. I put this in a week ago and am still going strong. I drive 22 miles each way to work and back. I haven't lost any coolant at all.
Have a 2003 Ford Taurus with 200,000 on it and that mechanic told me the gaskets leaking I continue to put water in it I tried Blue devil and I tried k-seal neither of them work should I try this and how much should I put in if it keeps being empty when I say empty I mean the the radiator but in my car you just pour into the overflow but I'm losing water I continue to just put water in it watered it because I don't want to leak antifreeze! I haven't tried this yet but I just want to slow the leak down or else stop the leak I'm looking into a new car but the bars leak I hear sounds good
I would say guarantee or mo your heater core may plu as well as radiator. use at your own risk as you will have a hard time trying to collect. in a good deal of cases if this problem is approached before gasket is fully blown you can simply remove the valve cover and retorque your head bolts which is a problem with aluminum heads and blocks. in favt first vehicle I had with the aluminum parts it was called to do so at scheduled maintance intervals
I used that in my Ford 6.0 diesel. I followed the directions as written. The white smoke went away and after the cool down and restart everything seemed ok. Bars Leak states it may that several heat cycles to completely seal. I decided to let it sit for four hours and put another heat cycle on it. The engine was locked up.
My car was over heating for no aprent reason checked every thing rebuild entire cooling system so just drilled 4 /6.5 mm holes in thermostat fixed this problem the temp went down 30 degrees farenheit hight thats 6.5mm is about 3/8s thats 4 holes try 3 or 4 holes just on edge of round part that opens and closes .
I am planning to use the bars leak head seal carbon fiber reinforced stuff in my turbocharged race engine… the cylinder 4 leaks a little bit of coolant just have misfire when cold once hot it runs fine but lacks some power.. if it a better way to remove the spark plug and disconnect the injectors in cylinder 4 to ensure it the fix works better? Pls let me know..
Bro, I am about to flush and change my coolant. I'm using Prestone antifreeze coolant. Can I use this after changing my coolant or should I do this before I change my coolant? Thanks a lot bro!
So my car don't overheat yet... it has a leak not visible idk yet if I drive for a hour it starts smelling like coolant ....it looses coolant I gotta check every other day .... i changed thermostat but still its been like that almost a year ima use this stuff... see if it works....
Your coolant was low after the second fill because you did not bleed your coolant system after you added coolant the 1st time. That’s probably why you overheated after the application. Just FYI
What's with all the head gasket problems on 10 to 15 year old cars. I've never had an engine with a head gasket issue. I have 337.000 miles on my 94 trans am. Engine never been touched. Run fine. Have 268.000 miles on my 86 by Fiero. No engine problems. 156.000 miles on my 68 mustang 289. Engine never been itouched except timing chain in 1979.
@Sam Yaza didn't mention my 58 Cadillac my parents bought in 1960.she just turned 61! I was 1 when they bought it. My mom signed it over to me in 1980. I still drive it around town for the usual errands. Had the engine rebuilt 6 years ago because of excessive blow by, and oil consumption. Kept the original rockers, crank, etc. Runs beautifully now and no more smoke !! Yeah, you're right. I have a new car, 2017. So far at 46.000 miles it's been flawless. I'll take good care of it, and hope for the best.....
What if my car (2013 Ford Fiesta se) doesn’t have a radiator cap? And does the coolant reservoir need to be flushed out first or can I just pour it into the reservoir with coolant in it? Thanks!

Let me tell you I recently used this product by the book it did not work well with a 4 cylinder Dodge neon it plugged up coolant passages . Otherwise the head gasket may have been way too far gone for this product . But I have used it once other time and it worked like a charm
It says it WONT plug up teh radiator???
Used it in my bmw 325 and it totally fixed everything. Great 👍 product!
How did you do it
Teisha Misunderstood no I didn’t have to drain my coolant.

This seems more like just a plain product advertisement rather than a proof-of-concept and that it does actually work

And after yew turned em inside out fer a few days, yew kin turn em around!!!
Stuff actually saved my 2001 tundra. 1,000 miles from home and saved me $1500 10/10
Yeah, I don’t know weather to use this stuff or K seal. What do you think?
@@Yyyyyy5 I would recommend Bars leak, worked just as advertised
@@matthewchapman6953 ok, just used blue devil stopped the leak for about a month. So I used it again and it didn’t stop it this time at all….and it is a very small leak. Time to try something else. I’m not going to take it to a Mechanic when the vehicle has over 200,000 miles on it. The repair would be worth more than the vehicle. Thanks.
This product works good enough for me. However this is the third time i'm going to use it and the 1st time last: 6months and the 2nd time last me about 11months and now it's due to do it again.✌
Did u use regular or professional bars
So a year and 5 months and you STILL didnt fix the MAIN problem.....LMAO.
yeah mine same thing. i idle 20 min and run heat on, and no issues
lasted 9 months due again
what about 3 rd time
Nice breakdown.
Thanks for the information. I gotta say though I kept focusing on the gentleman that was wearing his jacket on inside out.

How did it hold up?
@@Emma-dh1lx it was the best product I’ve used. Literally followed the directions and then two days later drove from AZ to AL with no issues and no leaks.
I’m def gonna use it, cus I can’t afford a new engine fix or car. I’m catching it early, just seems to have combustion gases in coolant. No white smoke or mixed coolant with oil yet. Does slowly overheat. So I’m gonna use it cus I need this car to last me a while. How long did it hold up for you ?

Brilliant presenation guys,thank you.
Dude is like stop talking so I can pour the antifreeze lol😂😂😂

You guys should disconnect hose from heater-core and join them together or likely will plug it up. Same old Water-glass treatment from years ago but maybe an improved product. Thanks, may try it someday! Ok, so cool warm cool warm means just a little airlock so open reservoir squeeze hoses and should clear it up...
Hey grandpa, dont worry about those mean comments. They're not actually interested in fighting you it's just jargin.
Don't put the cap back on till the radiator is full and temp is warm.
I see you covered the license plate in begining but you can see it in the end just an fyi
Hi. What would be nice, is the give updates years after. Any updates on your Dodge? Thanks
Amen! Wtf happened? Did it work or not?
Just did my 2001 honda accord 238k miles on it .I used a bottle of bars leaks from Walmart ..I did flush my radiator out before I did it. I only used half a bottle.. so far so good..no bubbles after burping it.
Update..it finally started to bubble again. .so I did the headgasket job and it still had original gasket and was very worn down..all I can say is that it bought me sometime to get the money I needed to do the headgasket job..might work longer for some best of luck
Thank you, it's working like a dream! GOOD video
HOLYY SHIIITT!! THIS ACTUALLY WORKED‼️
i can get behind it sealing leaks i seen these products work. but hmm hows it gonna fix a warped head ? i've resurfaced a lot of heads in my day
Dude reminds me of Mr. Jim Layhe from Trailer Park Boys. "You wouldn't happen to know where a fella could get a little drinkipoo around here, would ya?"
Bar's worked for two days and then failed in a 2001 Mazda MPV with blown head gasket. Followed instruction exactly.
The guy on the left has he's jacket backwards lol
hahahahah
Good eye.
damgeguy2 it didn't show him pouring it in

What bout BMW 745

Did it work for you?
Did it work for you?
This stuff works has used Barr's stop 3or4 times since 1976.
I watched another video where they added this BArr's Leak and he didn't mention anything about how much to add to the vehicle, he just poured the whole thing in. Will that hurt it or should you put in the correct amount of ounces?
great video , my 2002 chy trailblazer is just getting the symptom of a head gasket 165k on her i will try this stuff ,thanks
Peggy Valiante and how did it went?
I wonder how long the fix lasts.
They are supposed to be permanent.
Do it, its cheap and it works.
......you're a Genius! NO ONE else talked about this!!! Wow, I wish you'd help me :-(
Do you mean laundry detergent? Or dish washing soap?
Should I remove all the water from the radiator before adding the product, add the product and add water, or if I just add the product, does the existing water also work?
This should work for a blown gasket that's between the water pump and engine block too -- RIGHT?
The real reason most people use this type of product is, they are trying to hide a problem before selling the car. I can't drive a car with confidence if I don't address and fix the problem, not just mask it.
It clogged my heater core. No heat now . You should pull thermostat and bypass the heater core by connecting the in and out heater hoses. Hopefully I can back flush heater core and getting it working again. Directions on those stop leak products are wrong
jumping jacks? you can get heat for free like that and never have to fix a car!
tryed this stuff on 96 honda accord and yes didn't seal head gasket but sure plugged heater core!
I have a leaky head gasket and was losing coolant. I put this in a week ago and am still going strong. I drive 22 miles each way to work and back. I haven't lost any coolant at all.
It worked for me too, I did it last year.... My Dad drove over 10,000+ Miles... It's still going strong!
I haven't tried this yet but I just want to slow the leak down or else stop the leak I'm looking into a new car but the bars leak I hear sounds good
You are brilliant. Loved watching this. Just thought I would say... You will make more money in comedy. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
hi my friend, does bars leak really work?
Does it work if your heat doesn't work
I just fixed my Chrysler 300 with Bars Leak, shits badass!!
Did it work for a long time?
Blue Devil is by far ther only thing ive uses that worked to stop my head gasket from burning anymore coolant
You forgot to cover the license plate in the ending, as you did in the beginning.
He didn't forget, he just realized his car was done for so he didn't bother, cause this shit doesn't work
Hamradioconcepts .lol wen u driving u covered u license plate what's is the difference LoL u so stupid
6:41 the car was fixing to over heat
I used that in my Ford 6.0 diesel. I followed the directions as written. The white smoke went away and after the cool down and restart everything seemed ok. Bars Leak states it may that several heat cycles to completely seal. I decided to let it sit for four hours and put another heat cycle on it. The engine was locked up.
So it F'd your engine!?
Thank you guys how long did it last greatings and much love
A question: Did you have problem with head before using this product? In other words, did this product help with heating problem? Thanks
My car was over heating for no aprent reason checked every thing rebuild entire cooling system
so just drilled 4 /6.5 mm holes in thermostat fixed this problem the temp went down 30 degrees farenheit hight thats 6.5mm is about 3/8s thats 4 holes try 3 or 4 holes just on edge of round part that opens and closes .
Again my car does not overheat it's leaking from the head gasket and I continue to put water in it should I put the bars leak in also
Hi, thanks for the video. Just wondering if your car had anymore problems after using Bars leak. Thanks
how will apply the bar leak without a radiator opening?
I am planning to use the bars leak head seal carbon fiber reinforced stuff in my turbocharged race engine… the cylinder 4 leaks a little bit of coolant just have misfire when cold once hot it runs fine but lacks some power.. if it a better way to remove the spark plug and disconnect the injectors in cylinder 4 to ensure it the fix works better? Pls let me know..
Bro, I am about to flush and change my coolant. I'm using Prestone antifreeze coolant. Can I use this after changing my coolant or should I do this before I change my coolant? Thanks a lot bro!
So what test did you use to confirm the problem leaking head gasket? ... and will the stuff seal intake leaks?
Is it still working, or did you get rid of the car fast?
So how long has it been and still work

The problem is alot of people try to use it for internal leaks, when its designed for external leaks. Just sayin...
Big Red thanks Big Red, knowing that you've been a ASE Certified mechanic since that time reassures me today because I purchased the transmission fix by "Bar's Leak" for a 95 Dodge 3500 & it stopped the leak, yes it was a very minor leak but I was worried because I saw some other comments saying that it's screwed up people's engines, the mechanic wanted to charge me $75-$100 to replace the high compression line for the tranny & I hope this stuff doesn't have any side effects, this rig only has 40,000 original miles on it, it was ah barn find, anyway Merry Christmas!
