Santa Claws is also searchable with Sangan, and since Sangan got an errata saying the monster it searches can’t activate its effect, you get to tribute with it and the opponent DOESN’T get to draw a card
Actually, I think it activated because Sangan restricts, you from using it's effect, but it doesn't restrict your opponent, so the effect triggers in the end phase.
Hey, it made good tribute fodder for very specific and not really viable Destiny HERO - Plasma turbo* decks before it was broken in the Link format. *Not referring to Turbo Duels here
Ahh.. Lava Golem. In the anime, I loved how Marik summoned this to Joey. Then Joey used it as one of tribute monsters since it became one of his monsters. I loved that Joey vs Marik one.
Loved that whole duel. Joey's good-natured perseverance was a perfect foil to Marik's arrogant sadomasochism. The fact he literally lost just because Yugi has to be the one to beat the Big Bad is why I consider him the winner of that duel, and he definitely grew into a more powerful duelist from that point on.

Had Joey declared an attack, he would have won, but he fainted mid-declaration, meaning Marik was declared the winner by default. So yes, he succumbed, but not before taking far more punishment than a mere mortal like should have been able to, at least in theory. Maybe Yuge rubbed off on him. ;P

He even proved stronger than Marik's companion, an actual gravekeeper, when Ra smote them both in fury over the fake god card being played. So it's fair and well that against Marik he lasted as long as he did, even though losing ultimately (that's just the magic of the god cards in the manga/anime).
I remember me and my friend one christmas eve were bored, so we hopped on YGOPro and tried to come up with christmas themed decks. We both had Santa Claws, and had no idea how to use him. We were just spamming giftcards and beating each other down with Toy Soldiers, it was ridiculous and a lot of fun

Yo, I'm building volcanics in Duel Links, I have 3 rockets but I haven't any copy of Doomfire, is Doomfire any useful for the Volcanic strategy? And any advice on the best cards to help the deck besides the archetype itself?
@@BronzeAnalystTM Not really. The best thing is to wait a month or two and save your gems before Axel becomes a playable character in Duel Links. After that we will see what Skill set he has and how important Volcanic Doomfire will be. I predict we will get a skill that summons him without even needing a copy of Doomfire himself.
I love my Lair of Darkness deck because it tributes all my opponents stuff all while giving me some kind of advantage. Hope it gets some more support somehow because it seems all new bosses are immune to everything BUT tributing.
Volcanic Queen will always be the #1 in my heart. Mostly because only her and Lava Golem existed when I was playing Yu-Gi-Oh, and I didn't have access to the latter. It was so much fun to eliminate that big ass OP monster that my friend had just summoned (well, for me at least. Not so much for the receiving end). The best case scenario was to flip Hunt Instinct immediately afterwards, since Volcanic Queen counts as an opponent's special summoned monster, and bring my Ultimate Tyranno for a devastating rampage. Yes all of this probably sounds like shit, and honestly it is, but for a deck that I last used on 2006, it was an extremely powerful combo back then. Also, Volcanic Queen and Lava Golem have a nice bonus of not being restricted in their summons, so you can drop multiple copies of them on the same turn no problem.

Still remember that one time playing "recess Yugioh" where my friend summoned it to my side of the field and had Level Limit Area A along with a Gravity Bind facedown just in case. I proceeded to feather duster his backrow then summon more level 4 beaters and basically destroy him with his own monster XD

Lava Golem holds a special place in my heart as far as these monsters go. I'm a giant fan of the Relinquished archetype, which is a deck which only ever needs normal summons for searchers like Manju...and even then it isn't a guarantee. Every single thing with "Relinquished" or "Restrict" in its name can gain great value from that Lava Golem you just summoned. One of my favorite board nukers on YGOPro for said Relinquished deck as the ability to choose what column it enters matters. So...say my opponent ends on three monsters: maybe an Apollousa, a Tri-Gate, and something else...doesn't really matter too much. I can start by Lava Goleming the negators away, then I can use Pre-preparation to grab Relinquished and Black Illusion Ritual, summon relinquished and absorb the random third monster...then, having made sure of where I put my opponent's shiny new Lava Golem, I can link Relinquished away for Relinquished Anima, eat the Lava Golem, and swing for 3k, probably setting either Solemn Judgment or Relinquished Fusion as backrow for support and/or disruption (I'll have a Relinquished and an effect monster I used for ritual tribute in my GY, so Relinquished Fusion can bring out Millennium-Eyes Restrict as a response to backrow removal, or if my opponent is obviously planning on bringing out a monster with a mandatory effect). Millennium-Eyes Restrict will also work on its own vs Lava Golem in a pinch, as the 1000 LP effect is mandatory and chainable...the only problem being that if you go for it, it's a OPT and you won't get to negate an opponent's monster effect unless you have Millennium-Eyes Illusionist in hand or a different negate.
When using Ra sphere mode for this strategy, just make sure your opponent doesn't have a Winged Dragon of Ra in their deck.Especially with the recent release of all those new Ra support cards.

@@dracometeors3010 it's still played and that's enough for me. I just like hearing cards of the time I played still see some use even if they're not in meta decks. Hell, it's better than going the way of Summoned Skull (replaced by not one, not two, but THREE better retrains) or original Red Eyes.
I built a toxic deck based on Number 59: Crooked Cook, Exodia, Timelord (for emergence) and a slew of these cute cards. As long as there are no piercing attacks or Kaiju... I'm in an iron barrel. It's fun to see people using meta deck and see them use everything without combining anything and quit. And even if I lose, I've enjoyed their effort... If I could, I'd congratulate them for whoever manages to defeat me in such conditions.
I have only two suggestions for a Top Ten list, but one of them can be split into two categories of good/bad. The one that can be split is Top 10 revival cards. The other one is Top 10 non-"Number" cards with a number in their name.
These cards are also good if you use relinquish anima since you get to choose where it goes so you can place it infront of an extra monster zone and then link summon relinquish anima which then points to the monster and then steals it
What about a list of cards that use opponent's monsters on the field for cost, like Super Polymerization, Fallen of Albaz, Unchained Soul of Rage, Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon and so on...? Some even use from GY (Invocation)!
Cyber Dragon Infinity is a contender, since it can target an attack position monster and add it as a material. Having an omni negate on top of that (which does require a detach) just makes it even better.
I remember one time I was playing against a deck that was intended to stall me out and didn't summon monsters very much- mostly relying on spells/traps that worked better with an empty field. But I used D. D. Guide to give him a monster, and then I summoned Lord Gaia the Fierce Knight who special summoned himself for my opponent having a monster on his side but I didn't. And he was like "o_0 that was an interesting play". That was one of my prouder moments. I run my kaiju deck weird, it's not even really a kaiju deck, I actually run it at 60 cards, highlander. 11 kaiju cards in a 60 card deck does not a kaiju deck make. Anyway, I figured there was a chance my opponents might be running decks that don't reliably have monsters on the field I can tribute, so I planned around it by having tricks like that to summon fodder on opponent's side.
I was kinda hoping to see Ceruli, Guru of Dark World on this list. Yeah he almost never gets used, but since he allows the archetype to inherently activate all of their busted effects, a mention would have been interesting. Also, EARTH Machines top 10.
I once got Nibiru'd, but I had so high damage monsters on the field my attack was at 13,500 and defense was at 10,500 and I just used the rock to beat him

What? It only happen in the endphase, you probably already got rid of Santa claws by the time that happen(and probably already won). Not to mention Santa claws still see some Mera plays right now while volcanic Queen never see plays for years. Also volcanic Queen can also burn both Players.
Back in the day ,I used Lava golem with either gravity bind or level limit area B A control and burn deck. Was very effective. This was before Synkro monsters lol

I definitely think Iblee could be higher on the list. There’s a very good combo these days now that Mermaid is banned that involves Salamangreat Baleynx. By doing so, you end up with your opine t controllling an Iblee and having a Sanctuary on your field prevents them from ramming into Bale with it. Combined with a deck that can U-link easily (my favorite being Code Talkers) you can end on a board where you’re opponent can’t SS because of Iblee but can’t Link Summon due to the U-Link, as well as not being able to ram because of Sanctuary. This and more absolutely gives Iblee a higher spot just because it’s been much easier to pull off a lockdown with it.
i run lava golem in a yubel list. tributing 2 of my opponents monsters, then burning them for 1k then destroying it while chipping another 3k damage in is really good.
I have been trying out a pure kaiju deck in master duel and have run into the issue a few times that you bring up with gameceil but with the mothra one instead where it can half the attack of all monsters on the opponets field permently and that has cost me more than a few games because the effect was just not in my memory yet
I wanted to suggest Armityle the Chaos Phantasm - Phantom of Fury for this, but then remembered it doesn’t count since you don’t summon it to your opponents side, instead you summon it to your side, then give it to your opponent. Then have the option of either crashing into it since it’s a 0 attack monster, or letting it live until the end phase, where it just banishes your opponents monsters and gives you the original Armityle, I’m assuming that this isn’t anything good in meta but it’s a very fun card to use in casual games.
Suggestion: "10 cards that are broken In Duelist of the Roses when compared to their OCG/TCG counterparts" Two major examples: Pumpking the king of ghosts and Toon World" Due to the nature of the board of the game and terrain effects, the first could make your monsters unbeatable if you stall long enough and the second forced you to kite Pegasus out of his comfort zone somehow.
Also for lava golem : dark spirit's mastery can search it so it can only be played once in deck that has over level 8 fiend (like unchained, or infernoid) so it is rare for it to brick in those deck

I have an affinity for fusion. It is a stratagy and mechanic I know well. I have been working on a generic fusion deck that uses fusion substitute monsters and super poly as part of the main deck. Problem is, there are sooooo many fusion monsters that require a generic material like The Dark Magicians or Milenium Eyes Restrict for a couple of axamples. Far to many to remember them all off the top of my head. So Im wondering. What are the best generic fusion monsters in the game? Not just based on 1 format, but rather the ones with the most utility and ability to be used in almost any format

A few extra notes on 2 of the entries: Volcanic Queen due to not being able to Normal Summon or Set it has really good synergy with Flame Spirit Ignis gimmick burn decks (particularly Infernoid ones) and pure Volcanic burn (RIP) since Reasoning and Monster Gate send it straight from the deck to the Grave to use for burn damage. Though the former role can also be easily filled by Lava Golem. Santa Claws is actually a huge disappointment to me personally. Don't get me wrong: its good, but in Trickstar burn and Appropriate decks if that "You can draw 1 card" was forced rather than an option it would fit in those decks so much better.
I made this suggestion before but it's one I'd love to see. Top 10 Cards With Detrimental Effects. Specifically, not a cost to activate them but an effect that can be bad, so something like Utopia's destruction if targeted for an attack when it has no XYZ materials or cards that prevent you from special summoning except for ones in their archetype. I don't remember if you did it already but Top 10 Cards That Dropped In Power. Preferably ones that lost power without errata. So maybe something like United We Stand or Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning that used to be banned but are now unlimited.
Welcome to era where we use enemy monsters as materials to summon our on their field. Lava Golem ,Ra sphere mode ,Kaiju. And don't ever forget chad Super poly XD
Sphere Mode should be higher than Nibriu. It's less conditional, and he left out an important element to sphere mode. It can't be targeted by effects or for attacks, and you get it back next turn. That's amazing to have not only a great removal but I get a wall back. If you're gonna have tribute removal in your deck you should have sphere at 3. The only time you don't want it is if for some reason your opponent is playing slow and has 2 or less monsters. Which sure than a kaiju is preferable but in most situations I'll take sphere mode. Grinder Golem is banned anyway so I don't count him but grinder golem was good for banish decks with inferno tempest
Waaaaay back in the early days (2004 I think) I used to play a Lava Golem-Shadow Spell combo, which locked the Lava Golem from attacking and I just stalled...plus, since it was the days of yatalock, it was rare to have any kind of tribute summon, so it was a hard card to get rid of...ahhh..those were the days

Still remember that one time playing "recess Yugioh" where my friend summoned it to my side of the field and had Level Limit Area A along with a Gravity Bind facedown just in case. Then I must have confused the video with the erratas, but I know for sure that Inspector Boarder was in one of the Top 10 lists before because of the ruling nightmare associated with its effect.
Lava Golem holds a special place in my heart as far as these monsters go. I'm a giant fan of the Relinquished archetype, which is a deck which only ever needs normal summons for searchers like Manju...and even then it isn't a guarantee. Every single thing with "Relinquished" or "Restrict" in its name can gain great value from that Lava Golem you just summoned. One of my favorite board nukers on YGOPro for said Relinquished deck as the ability to choose what column it enters matters. So...say my opponent ends on three monsters: maybe an Apollousa, a Tri-Gate, and something else...doesn't really matter too much. I can start by Lava Goleming the negators away, then I can use Pre-preparation to grab Relinquished and Black Illusion Ritual, summon relinquished and absorb the random third monster...then, having made sure of where I put my opponent's shiny new Lava Golem, I can link Relinquished away for Relinquished Anima, eat the Lava Golem, and swing for 3k, probably setting either Solemn Judgment or Relinquished Fusion as backrow for support and/or disruption (I'll have a Relinquished and an effect monster I used for ritual tribute in my GY, so Relinquished Fusion can bring out Millennium-Eyes Restrict as a response to backrow removal, or if my opponent is obviously planning on bringing out a monster with a mandatory effect). Millennium-Eyes Restrict will also work on its own vs Lava Golem in a pinch, as the 1000 LP effect is mandatory and chainable...the only problem being that if you go for it, it's a OPT and you won't get to negate an opponent's monster effect unless you have Millennium-Eyes Illusionist in hand or a different negate.
When using Ra sphere mode for this strategy, just make sure your opponent doesn't have a Winged Dragon of Ra in their deck.Especially with the recent release of all those new Ra support cards.
Even if they're playing it, that's only an issue if you leave it on the field.
After sphere moding them, you're probably not going to just pass turn.

I just like hearing cards of the time I played still see some use even if they're not in meta decks. Hell, it's better than going the way of Summoned Skull (replaced by not one, not two, but THREE better retrains) or original Red Eyes.
I built a toxic deck based on Number 59: Crooked Cook, Exodia, Timelord (for emergence) and a slew of these cute cards. As long as there are no piercing attacks or Kaiju... I'm in an iron barrel. It's fun to see people using meta deck and see them use everything without combining anything and quit. And even if I lose, I've enjoyed their effort... If I could, I'd congratulate them for whoever manages to defeat me in such conditions.
I have only two suggestions for a Top Ten list, but one of them can be split into two categories of good/bad. The one that can be split is Top 10 revival cards. The other one is Top 10 non-"Number" cards with a number in their name.

Cyber Dragon Infinity is a contender, since it can target an attack position monster and add it as a material. Having an omni negate on top of that (which does require a detach) just makes it even better.
I remember one time I was playing against a deck that was intended to stall me out and didn't summon monsters very much- mostly relying on spells/traps that worked better with an empty field. But I used D. D. Guide to give him a monster, and then I summoned Lord Gaia the Fierce Knight who special summoned himself for my opponent having a monster on his side but I didn't. And he was like "o_0 that was an interesting play". That was one of my prouder moments. I run my kaiju deck weird, it's not even really a kaiju deck, I actually run it at 60 cards, highlander. 11 kaiju cards in a 60 card deck does not a kaiju deck make. Anyway, I figured there was a chance my opponents might be running decks that don't reliably have monsters on the field I can tribute, so I planned around it by having tricks like that to summon fodder on opponent's side.

I was kinda hoping to see Ceruli, Guru of Dark World on this list. Yeah he almost never gets used, but since he allows the archetype to inherently activate all of their busted effects, a mention would have been interesting.

I once got Nibiru'd, but I had so high damage monsters on the field my attack was at 13,500 and defense was at 10,500 and I just used the rock to beat him
I remember I got hit with a nibiru in master duel I was so confused at first I was going through a combo and I was like Nooooooooooo!!!!!! When they all got tributed.

What? It only happen in the endphase, you probably already got rid of Santa claws by the time that happen(and probably already won). Not to mention Santa claws still see some Mera plays right now while volcanic Queen never see plays for years. Also volcanic Queen can also burn both Players.

The problem I see with nibiru is that it must resolve to tribute all the monsters and sometimes people get a negate out before 5 summons

Dude. I love these videos. I feel like I've watched everyone, and you started D&DLogs almost as soon as I got serious into D&D. I just really wish you'd ask people to sub at the end instead of this passive-aggressive "did you know" stuff. Like, I realize I'm not a content creator and you probably get criticism every day, but I really do want your channel and you to succeed! It's just jarring and it makes me end the videos early.
I definitely think Iblee could be higher on the list. There’s a very good combo these days now that Mermaid is banned that involves Salamangreat Baleynx. By doing so, you end up with your opine t controllling an Iblee and having a Sanctuary on your field prevents them from ramming into Bale with it. Combined with a deck that can U-link easily (my favorite being Code Talkers) you can end on a board where you’re opponent can’t SS because of Iblee but can’t Link Summon due to the U-Link, as well as not being able to ram because of Sanctuary. This and more absolutely gives Iblee a higher spot just because it’s been much easier to pull off a lockdown with it.

I have been trying out a pure kaiju deck in master duel and have run into the issue a few times that you bring up with gameceil but with the mothra one instead where it can half the attack of all monsters on the opponets field permently and that has cost me more than a few games because the effect was just not in my memory yet

I wanted to suggest Armityle the Chaos Phantasm - Phantom of Fury for this, but then remembered it doesn’t count since you don’t summon it to your opponents side, instead you summon it to your side, then give it to your opponent.
Then have the option of either crashing into it since it’s a 0 attack monster, or letting it live until the end phase, where it just banishes your opponents monsters and gives you the original Armityle,
I’m assuming that this isn’t anything good in meta but it’s a very fun card to use in casual games.

I have an affinity for fusion. It is a stratagy and mechanic I know well. I have been working on a generic fusion deck that uses fusion substitute monsters and super poly as part of the main deck. Problem is, there are sooooo many fusion monsters that require a generic material like The Dark Magicians or Milenium Eyes Restrict for a couple of axamples. Far to many to remember them all off the top of my head. So Im wondering. What are the best generic fusion monsters in the game? Not just based on 1 format, but rather the ones with the most utility and ability to be used in almost any format

A few extra notes on 2 of the entries:
Volcanic Queen due to not being able to Normal Summon or Set it has really good synergy with Flame Spirit Ignis gimmick burn decks (particularly Infernoid ones) and pure Volcanic burn (RIP) since Reasoning and Monster Gate send it straight from the deck to the Grave to use for burn damage. Though the former role can also be easily filled by Lava Golem.
Santa Claws is actually a huge disappointment to me personally. Don't get me wrong: its good, but in Trickstar burn and Appropriate decks if that "You can draw 1 card" was forced rather than an option it would fit in those decks so much better.

I made this suggestion before but it's one I'd love to see. Top 10 Cards With Detrimental Effects. Specifically, not a cost to activate them but an effect that can be bad, so something like Utopia's destruction if targeted for an attack when it has no XYZ materials or cards that prevent you from special summoning except for ones in their archetype.
I don't remember if you did it already but Top 10 Cards That Dropped In Power. Preferably ones that lost power without errata. So maybe something like United We Stand or Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning that used to be banned but are now unlimited.

Sphere Mode should be higher than Nibriu. It's less conditional, and he left out an important element to sphere mode.
It can't be targeted by effects or for attacks, and you get it back next turn. That's amazing to have not only a great removal but I get a wall back.
If you're gonna have tribute removal in your deck you should have sphere at 3. The only time you don't want it is if for some reason your opponent is playing slow and has 2 or less monsters. Which sure than a kaiju is preferable but in most situations I'll take sphere mode.
Grinder Golem is banned anyway so I don't count him but grinder golem was good for banish decks with inferno tempest

Waaaaay back in the early days (2004 I think) I used to play a Lava Golem-Shadow Spell combo, which locked the Lava Golem from attacking and I just stalled...plus, since it was the days of yatalock, it was rare to have any kind of tribute summon, so it was a hard card to get rid of...ahhh..those were the days
