When I go into emergency for a legitimate problem (the last time I went was because I had sustained a concussion), I get very angry when I see people who weigh 300+ pounds. While they're waiting to be seen by a doctor, they have gone to a vending machine and are eating a bag of chips or a chocolate bar. (The hospital is blameworthy here too, because I don't know why they have to have garbage like that available to patients.) Then, I find out that these obese people who are eating junk have come into the hospital because their diabetes is going out of control. Well, you could say that it's no skin off my nose. In fact, it is, because I am paying for the health care that they need. If they took better care of themselves, they wouldn't be such a drain on the system. As for reading these recipes, until we start reading them, we don't know what we're getting. I avoid processed foods for a couple of reasons. First, I will admit that I need to lose some weight. I take medication that causes weight gain, so I am fighting an uphill battle. Nevertheless, just to keep my conscience clear, I am very careful about what I eat. When I am in a grocery store, I don't have the appropriate visual aids to help me read ingredients. Therefore, I do a lot of cooking from scratch. Tomorrow night, for example, I will be cooking navy bean soup. I have the dried navy beans here in my kitchen, so hopefully I will remember to soak them tonight, and I'll make the soup tomorrow. The only questionable ingredient in the soup is the hambone. Otherwisea in it are navy beans, lots of onions, peppercorns, a bay leaf, and water. Not exactly high in fat, and the protein for the most part comes from the beans. Tonight, we're having pasta Puttanesca. For breakfast, I had fresh raspberries with skim milk, and a slice of whole wheat toast with a teaspoon of butter. I don't use margarine, because my nutritionist suggested that using margarine on toast just like melting down Tupperware and spreading the result on your bread. That has put me off margarine for life😄

I really love this! I'm always looking for deserts for my dad who is diabetic and this one is so easy to edit for him. His favorite used to be pineapple upside down cake so this will be great.
@@cathy9160 that's really uncalled for and she even said it would be easy to edit the recipe so it would be ok for him to eat despite being diabetic. So rude.
Hello, Dana. My dad was a diabetic as well. I don't recommend this dessert for him because the Angel Food cake is loaded with sugar. I know the young lady used a light whipped cream but for diabetics, the amount of sugar in a normal angel food cake is still too much for them. Cheers. 🍰
Annabelle Dee I have made this with sugar free angel food cake, sugarcfree cool whip and sugar free pudding and sugar free crushed pineapple or at least no sugar added pineapple and my mom, who is diabetic, can eat it.
Too cute, my kids call mine Strawberry Fluff ( I have made it with peaches or whatever fruit I have the desire for) I use a jello, make the coresponding jell-o to the fruit. Once it has set, I add in a cool whip and then after breaking/cubing up the angel food cake I fold it all together and even the fussy folk ( including my one daughter) love it every time. I don’t layer it, but I respect your process. My kids just asked me to make that ‘fluff’ again and that’s how my Fruit Fluff was born.
Our family just mixes 1 can crushed pineapple (juice and all) with 1 small box of pistachio pudding well. Fold in 1 tub of thawed cool whip carefully so that it stays fluffy. Put in the fridge to cool for a couple hours or put into dessert bowls first. Thats all we ever did and its a quick, easy toss together. Enjoy!
This was really wonderful! I added 2 Teaspoons of lemon to the can of pineapple stirred and let sit in refrigerator 1 hour. This brings out the tartness in the pineapple and gives it a zesty taste but you don’t taste the lemon.
Ooo! I like the looks of this! And I also was impressed with those Dollar Tree items you were using. Using a bowl that only costs a dollar is no big deal if someone forgets to return it!

I might agree, but 1) it would make this not a low-calorie dish, and 2) for the record, I have tried this with pound cake and I found the cake didn’t hold up as well as angel food does. It gets kinda mealy and soggy. Just my opinion.
@@scarlettvale617 yes pound cake wont hold up with having extra liquids on it. Its a butter cake. Angel food is technically a sponge cake. And sponge cakes are used in recipes that call for layering things like creams, milks, and syrups because they can hold up their shape withoit dizzolving. Tres leches cake with the sweet milk on the bottom layer is my favorite and its usually a sponge cake.
@@scarlettvale617 ummm sorry darlin there's nothing about this that's low calorie. I do agree with you though it would be soggy. Maybe like making individual plated desserts, putting it together right before serving. I'm southern I loveeeeee anything that involves butter.😂😂😂😂♥️♥️♥️
@@texasjaco9385 sugar-free pudding, lite Cool Whip, fat-free angel food cake? I think it’s considerably lower in calories than a lot of desserts! BTW, I make mine with all these ingredients, and I truly cannot taste the difference from full sugar ingredients. I do usually add pecans to it for a little something extra, and have also topped with chopped strawberries. Really, you can make this to suit yourself any way you like!
I use buttermilk not cottage cheese as its lumpy texture. My mom started making it since late 70s. she recently found Jello recipe booklet from 1960s and I love it.
This dessert is awesome. When I do it, I will put 2 spoonful of filling on the bottom first. Your peace on the bottom are dry. Also, it will be super soak that angel cake pieces with milk or few drops of rum liquor to give more flavor.

Been making this basic recipe for years, and you’re right, everyone does love it! My favorite is with cheesecake pudding mix, adding strawberries and/or mandarin oranges. I call it Dreamy Delight!
ON THIS I WILL MAKE IT AS SHE DID BUT WITH A SMALLER TWIST 😄 EACH LAYER WILL BE A DIFFERENT FRUIT ! PINEAPPLE LAYER ..... BANANA PUDDING LAYER....... STRAWBERRY LAYER ........
3 year's later😂 November 2020. I'm going to do it with 🍓 for 🎄. I'm already doing better than sex cake and lemon cake for Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays 2020🎵🎼🎶😊 Crazy year that's for sure.
WOW! How easy can you get!!! I am going to make this before Easter! Id decorate the top with cherries and fresh blueberries for the 4th of July, great dessert!!!
My family's version of this is: cook the pudding like normal. Before it's cooled, layer the pudding, cake, and cool whip separately, and chill overnight, so the cake absorbs the pudding while it's warm and firms up before getting soggy. The mouth feel of that cake with pudding absorbed in it is AMAZING!
If you want to put a twist to it... use a grahm cracker crust pie shell put the filling in and fridge for and hour. My sister makes hers that way. But i am going to try your way cause its making my mouth water.
I have been making this cake, my doctor told me about it. The only this different is the pudding, I will try it with the pudding. I make it like a layer cake. Thanks for posting.
I have tried this before but with a little twist to it and it's very good, you can also use Mandarin oranges and maybe sprinkle a few little nuts on top use your imagination and there won't be any left out guarantee that
This looks AMAZING! We already have desserts ready for today but you can bet I will be trying it next week! When I saw all of the little bits left in the cake pan I wanted to shout "Can I have that?" lol, I love that part of a angel food cake - I'm also a bit of a weirdo ;) Ooo, I might add some cherries too. I can see how you could really fancy it up if needed... put the fluff in a big piping bag and go to town. Ooooo girl! Thank you so much for sharing this and Happy 4th! xoxo

Do you use a better quality brand pistachio pudding????? Thanks!!!!!
Have a great day!!!!!.................... ☺
Ooh I love Watergate salad, my aunt adds nuts and coconut to hers.
Watergate Salad
Yummy that sounds and looks very good and looks very easy to make on the real
Pound cake would make this super duper good
I might agree, but 1) it would make this not a low-calorie dish, and 2) for the record, I have tried this with pound cake and I found the cake didn’t hold up as well as angel food does.
I'm going to try it
@@scarlettvale617 ummm sorry darlin there's nothing about this that's low calorie.
Mmmmmm I'm making this right now can't wait to have some later. Thanks for sharing the video 👍
This recipe sort of reminds of one I made years ago: Jello, Cool Whip, cottage cheese and pineapple, mix together and chill. Rather tasty.
Melt circus peanuts marshmallows in the hot jello.
Don't forget the canned mandarin oranges. Yummy!🍊 One of my favorite things in the world!!
Debra Conner I love canned mandarin oranges!!! I eat them right outta the can
Yes! I used to make that! Delicious!
Thanks for sharing, gonna try this ! Looks delish. Someone said to use coconut cream pudding, YUM!
Look delicious and easy, so definitely going to try it. Thanks for sharing.
Megan Jinez You will love it! It really is so good!

Good idea 👍
I love this!!! Will definitely be trying this dessert. Never had it before. I like that it's easy, quick, and doesn't require many ingredients. It's something I can whip up in a jiffy.
this looks delicious... I'm gonna do.it totally SF. the pineapple in its own juice, SF pudding and SF Cool Whip...then SF Angel February Food Cake... I'm so excited, I haven't eaten sugar in over 14 years...
Been making this basic recipe for years, and you’re right, everyone does love it! My favorite is with cheesecake pudding mix, adding strawberries and/or mandarin oranges. I call it Dreamy Delight!
Oh that does sound delicious.
This looks awesome, Can't wait to try it!
You are one precious jewel!! Thanks for this yummy recipe.

ON THIS I WILL MAKE IT AS SHE DID BUT WITH A SMALLER TWIST 😄
EACH LAYER WILL BE A DIFFERENT FRUIT !
PINEAPPLE LAYER .....
BANANA PUDDING LAYER.......
STRAWBERRY LAYER ........
I would do half and half with pineapple and orange
Great idea! Or do a pinocolata...pineapple, coconut, and lime
@@maried3717 OMG YES!!🤤
I LOVE piña colada desserts!😍💜
That looks simple Yet Delish, Thankyou ! I will try it tomorrow night for dessert😁
I would put some sort of chopped nuts on top (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
My ma loved walnuts and would put them in alot of things including green stuff. (Pistachio fluff)
I was looking for this!!! brings back memories. Thanks 😃
We make pistachio fluff and fluff with orange jello mix that makes it taste like cream sickles at my work!!

Lola Reh YES!!

@@jillrayes6700 How did it cime out?
I serve this every thanksgiving as did my grandmother without cake but with pistachio pudding. It is loved by all.
I want to try this with strawberries on top
3 year's later😂 November 2020. I'm going to do it with 🍓 for 🎄. I'm already doing better than sex cake and lemon cake for Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays 2020🎵🎼🎶😊 Crazy year that's for sure.
Thank you that looks delicious❤ Stay blessed!
Yum, you are my hero....I can’t wait to try this!!!
Oh, it looks delish! Thanks for sharing❤️
I added some cherries to the top and some toasted coconut to garnish very good dessert for any occasion
Looks delicious😋!! DEFINITELY making this without the guilt✌.. Thank you for sharing😄
This reminds me of a punch bowl cake. I think I would add some type of fruit filling on as a top layer 😉
That's exactly what it is
My husband is diabetic. And I try making it for Valentines Day. It looks so delicious
Fresh strawberries in between each layer would be really good and still healthy! Thanks for the idea
Very nice instructional cake video.
Watergate Salad - Pistachio, Cool Whip, Crushed Pineapple, unsalted chopped pecans, and miniature marshmallows.
@Dawn Green mine too
If you want to put a twist to it... use a grahm cracker crust pie shell put the filling in and fridge for and hour. My sister makes hers that way. But i am going to try your way cause its making my mouth water.
Pineapple Trifle! Easy on the hips, YUMMY!!!
I'm so going to try it. Thank you!!
Try it with sugar free cheese cake pudding mix ! So good! Especially if you like cheesecake. Add blueberries and strawberries for a festive occasion!
I have been making this cake, my doctor told me about it. The only this different is the pudding, I will try it with the pudding. I make it like a layer cake. Thanks for posting.
Barbara Goodale ...Lol. Sounds like you go to the Dr for more than med issues! Lol
I have tried this before but with a little twist to it and it's very good, you can also use Mandarin oranges and maybe sprinkle a few little nuts on top use your imagination and there won't be any left out guarantee that
Thanks for this recipe. I've been making Pineapple Fluff ever since I saw this video, and everybody at our church loves it.
Ooooo girl! Thank you so much for sharing this and Happy 4th! xoxo
PinkProzac16 Yep you can go as fancy or fattening as you want lol. Some people use vanilla cake and add the cherries and I thought about doing it with strawberries instead of pineapple. Yum! Let me know how you like it!
Thanks Honey Love it going to make this Pinapple Pudding Dewhicky Cakey Thingy soon! I cant wait to make its easy and looks delicious how can you go wrong wkth coolwhip! THANKS A MILLION
I get store bought sugar free angel food cake.
