    For anyone considering this as a career, I cannot express how important it is to choose the right company. Some companies will have you only working 8am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, all holidays off, and banking 45k base salary. Other places will work you like a dog - 7 to 7 and two Saturdays per month just to make 50k. Choose wisely.

      I completely agree. I start my days anywhere from 8-9 am in the morning. And I get off anywhere from 2:30pm and 4:30. I have a salary that's $15hr plus a 25% production bonus of the total amount of work I did for the month. And I'm off every weekend, and have 7 holidays off and paid.

    1st and foremost, I appreciate the time you put into your videos and the knowledge you hope to share with everyone who watches.. That being said, part of what you expressed, I believe to be a bit inaccurate.. You said that there is no need to be licensed at all and that the person/company that you work for, will be licensed and you would simply work under there their licensure. That's not correct. You definitely need to be licensed, at a minimum, as an applicator and ideally, as a field rep. Each individual, even if you are not an operator, is registered with the structural pest control board, under their own individual license number. This does not Grant you the ability to go and get your own customers and start doing your own thing/running your own business. You definitely need to be licensed as an operator for that, but you do, indeed, need to be licensed.. Keep in mind, I'm speaking as a California resident. Don't know much about any other state.

      You need to get certification here so you need to study up first and get your license and then it's googling where you want to work and then check the surrounding pest companies.

    That’s BS, you need a license to do pest control. I have owned a pest control company for 30 years, all technicians need to be licensed before they are allowed to go out and apply pesticides and that’s after a few months of being trained by a licensed tech

    • @chrisvan1
      @chrisvan1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      maybe 30 years ago everyone had to be licensed, or maybe it's a special case for your area. In the companies I've worked for, the branch manager holds a license and all of the techs work under his license simply as registered technicians.

      In LA you can work immediately from being hired under a license holder until you are certified.

    • @LIFEwithBAVAN
      @LIFEwithBAVAN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the state- but most need an operator's license (which is just completed sitting in a class) and can work under an applicator license (usually manager or the business entity itself holds). However, if you wanna make the big bucks- getting more licenses would help

    • @David-sg4se
      @David-sg4se 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LIFEwithBAVAN It's called an "apprentice" license. You usually start as an apprentice and then get tested later to get your tech license. All apprentice and licensed technicians work under the RCA of the company "Responsible Certified Applicator". Then you can work your way up and get your CA license "Certified Applicator", with that license her in Texas, you can open your own small business and then hire certified technicians to work under you. But even if you work for a corporate company, if you are CA certified, you can now get fined for most violations because you hold a certified applicator license. Lots of employees choose to stay as a licensed technician, because all the fault falls on the RCA of the company, not the technician.
