    What are your thoughts on the list? Should we cut some sideboard cards for other equipment or flex cards? Sound off below!

    Honestly. I think this is the tip of the "iceberg" for Iyslander. Fast forward a month or 6 weeks from now and everyone is going to be begging for Oldhim to come back.
    Quality vid, perfectly articulated.
    Top work ADM. ( as always)

    Explaining how the core combo and sideboard options work is always appreciated. I had a blinged out Kano deck that I tried about 5 times and just didn't gel with that's been sitting in a box for over a year, but Iyslander midrange looks a lot more fun to me. I might give this a shot but no Coronet Peak so I'll have to improvise.

    I think a better way to play Ice Eternal is alongside Red Isenhowl Weathervanes. You can pay 0 for the Ice Eternal after you play 2 Isenhowl's and get 8 frostbites as long as you still have the card in hand to fuse with. In combination with multiple Frost Hexes on the opp, this could still represent more than 20 dmg while almost surely blanking their turn. This could be an especially potent way to close out a game, especially if you can follow it up with something (maybe a fused Freezing Point) off of Stormstriders on their turn.

    Iyslander is my new absolute favorite hero. I’ve been having so much success with her, after you put the time into learning her she’s awesome. Thanks for the video. I think Sigil of Permafrost is soooo good. It’s won me so many games. Giving your waning moon an on hit effect is nothing to sneeze at.

    • @weatherreaderaudiolibri
      @weatherreaderaudiolibri 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem with sigil is you need another non Attack action to enable waning moon, so pretty much your full hand (blue pitch + sigil + 0 cost non Attack in arsenal )

  • @Mike69917

    Rewind is really, really, REALLY good. Against any hero that is combo-heavy and relies on a lynchpin non-attack action, it can be absolutely backbreaking. As you mentioned, it will just make most Kano players concede outright if you Rewind their Wildfire after they crack their boots. I actually like to show it REALLY early via a pitch so that they spend the rest of the game worried that I have it because, really, there's nothing they can do about it and they may fall into the trap of constantly worrying about it even if I don't have it. I've even bluffed it by keeping one card in hand turn over turn, only playing out three cards, and making a point to show them that I'm keeping a card in hand... even when it isn't a Rewind.
    Just the simple fact that it can auto-win such matchups makes it a 3-of in the sideboard, in my opinion. Iys can already make things REALLY hard on players who want to go wide by doing really ugly things like creating lots of Frostbite tokens at instant speed. There is something immensely satisfying about having someone run out an important non-attack action and you respond by dropping so much Frostbite on them that they just have to end their turn. I've also Encased a Lexi in response to a Three of a Kind after she dropped Rain Razors and Art of War; I could practically see their soul leave their body as it totally ruined their turn not having access to their Tunic, gloves and boots.
    I'm actually a little concerned that Iys is going to be our next Starvo, in that she takes over the meta. She puts opponents in this REALLY uncomfortable situation where you need to either eat all of the Arcane damage coming your way from her attacks or you won't be able to pay resources for her Frostbites, and you really can't win the long game against her because if she sets up the Frost Hex combo you just die. It's pretty disgusting to hit an opponent with a vanilla 4 arcane damage on your turn, then sink a ton of Frostbite and hit them with Waning Moon on their turn. You know how Starvo just takes your damage to face then claps back with an enormous hit that carries disruption? Iys is doing something similar except the damage is arcane (harder to block), the damage is spread out over multiple attacks (harder to plan for), she makes a lot of plays at instant speed on your turn (harder to disrupt), she doesn't need to you for 4+ damage for her disruption to work, and sometimes you can't stop the disruption at all (which feels unfair).
    I'm normally a Lexi player, but I think that Iys is secretly overpowered. It's a combination of some insane control effects and the fact that she can be pretty immune to disruption due being able to play on her opponent's turn.

    Hey there! Quick question about frostbite tokens!
    After I've put 3 frostbite tokens under my opponent, does his next action cost 3 more or does his next 3 actions cost 1 more?
    I just didn't know if they all stacked on the next action or if they only got expended 1 at a time.

    Does Polar Cap work well for you? The fact that it costs 2 sometimes makes it really awkward to play alongside Waning Moon for me. Cost 0 and 1 work great, Cost 3 often is a setup or something bigger. For that reason I dropped Polar Cap, but really curious to hear how it is working for you!

    • @DMArmada
      @DMArmada  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Polar Cap and other 2 costs are the most awkward in the deck, I agree. That being said, it's still a solid effect and I usually don't waning moon alongside of it.

    I want to play Isylander but I’m missing a bunch of the key cards. The Uprising case I bought had little to no Ice majestics or a Coronet Peak. So it looks like I will have to put this list on the back burner for now.

      Pro tip: find an LGS, a bunch of friends and just trade cards with them! I had a full fai case and I ended up with the full Iyslander majestic 3x basically without buying more cards. A little bit of Genis Watchuneed and you'll be able to get the full set you want from your case

    • @DMArmada
      @DMArmada  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the matchup, but I'd say that the threat of it has made some decks consider paying into AB to stop the 3. Mainly, it's a solid 0 cost that can push some damage and open up Waning Moon if we want it.

    Don't run Peak into dromai it gives her free ash. Also Heart of Ice is good into Dromai and she likes to play an instant to give her dragons go again. Edit: Be aware that any deck that runs Thaw try not to get them to pay or discard as they can use thaw for free

      @@Atticus3lack, yeah but your not really attacking in you turn with Iyslander. You’re usually activating peak or playing a Frost Hex or another set up card.
