A blast from the past! I can totally understand the name change, but can’t deny the original had a nice ring to it! I’d say the new name seems more inviting. It emphasizes the community aspect of beard care, which is one of the best aspects. Never got around to trying any iteration of the company, but I hope the best for them going forward!
I don’t think much has changed with the brand other than the name. I don’t mind doling out $35 bucks for a well balanced blend of nourishing ingredients with a well balanced scent profile that’s packaged together with a presentation that is like no other. I think about non essential things I buy monthly, and when added up they surpass the cost of TBB beard oils …something those apprehensive about spending $35 should consider. My favorite TBB scents are… 1. Lone Stranger 2. Tangerine Dream 3. Vanilla Bean 4. Palo Santo Their other scents are not for me, but like everything, it’s all based on personal preference …which is why they have a variety of options.
The TBB reinforcements have arrived lol just playin, I love it! Very fair perspective and points. Agreed fully on many aspects. It’s interesting where people make sticking points on price but disregard other areas. Like a Starbucks coffee and then complain about a beard product price raise of $2
I'm usually game to try out a new beard company, especially veteran owned, but not at the price they're offering their premium products. I don't mind paying a little more for premium ingredients, but the ingredients seem fairly common and don't warrant that price point. The wooden label is nice, but Kuhn beard products offer a wooden label and a good blend for $20. I don't see myself trying this due to the price point. Just being honest.
Huge blast from the past. I ordered from them a few times years ago and always loved their products. I really enjoyed their heavy, dark scenes too. Opium Den was one of my absolute favorites. I'm on board with the change and might just have to revisit next time I restock.
Looks interesting but I gotta say 35 bucks for a single ounce when there are companies using the same premium ingredients or better for around 20. Just can't justify a purchase like that when the competition is so plentiful.
😂 He said “horrendous shave! 🪒🤣 Luv it Dan! I will stay bearded, and I will stay bastard….but with all the other amazing products you have recommended, my beard has become Luxurious! 😉 Happy new year Dan, to you, your family and the brotherhood! Cheers!
I believe I remember the name and the wood labels from awhile back. Beard products were kind of a novelty to me back then so that’s all I remember. Boy have things changed on my end!! Thx for the update on The Bearded Bastard/Brotherhood 🤝
@@DanCBearded I believe that I have seen a couple of other copies now that you mentioned it, but these were the original that I was so drawn to. I feel like they are very well done!
Wow! Felt nostalgic! One of the very first companies I’ve tried.. I was big on their “Simply Vanilla” and “Opium Den” I HATE change but it always gets better after a couple of weeks!
I tried them when they were called the Bearded Bastard and enjoyed their scents and feel in beard. Have not tried them since the rebrand with new owners. Since you said they were a veteran owned company i will definitely buy from them again.
I think I tried them a few years ago but don’t remember for sure. Regarding the name change: I think maybe they wanted to signal a new chapter and direction for the company, distinguish themselves from another company with a similar name, and remove any potential barrier for some who may find the original name off putting. It sounds like the company is in good hands. I wish them the best. I’ll check them out again. Thanks Dan! Oh, by the way, I added some companies/products that I’ve been wanting to try to my Christmas list and got very specific (including DanC promo/discount codes) because family members can be intimidated and unsure what to buy. It was definitely appreciated and I got some great new products to try! 🙏 Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!
I am happy to have another beard company out there. For now they don't have anything that screams try me out for me. Right now Johnny Ray's has pretty much my focus of oils, just a delivery and the EO is mostly what I am after besides Cologne oils
Hey brother! Thank you for all the helpful info. I have a question I have the flu and I’m on antibiotics. Should I continue with my normal beard routine which is Morning wash, then cold water rinse then oil ( wait 5 minutes) and blow dry. Night rinse with cold water, oil (after 5 minutes) butter. I’m also taking Biotin supplements. I guess what I’m trying to say is should I continue with this routine while on antibiotics or should I stop my beard routine until after my antibiotics Thanks brother
Hey! I would keep up the beard routine, absolutely. As far as biotin and antibiotics, I don’t know enough to give advice there. Biotin is just a B vitamin, so I can’t imagine problems, but I really don’t know. Feel better soon!
Congratulations to the new owners. TBB is in da beard house. Just a add on, since I see the company is Veteran owned, maybe if you were going to donate to a Veteran organization, maybe 10%, maybe you could get the few here in the comments to come to your business and help support you. All of this is nothing but a suggestion to help grow your business. TBB, I will say good luck with your new business.
I just watched your what makes beards grow faster video and idk just feels like it's not growing anymore? Do they eventually just hit a point where they stop?
Here’s an odd question that I don’t know if you’ve ever covered. I want to curl my beard. What would you use to do that without damaging it in any way ChatGPT said curling wand or straightener or beard roller. I’m trying to switch up my look
Too expensive for my preferences, especially when the premium blends flashy ingredients are in the tails which implies miniscule quantities. Grapeseed as a number 1 doesn't say premium product to me. If I remember correctly, I maybe tried the sample pack from this company and wasn't impressed enough to continue buying.
I remember them when they first came out much respect for being one of the first but honestly not a fan of the products although simply vanilla was a decent scent but for what they were charging for is it worth the price to me no maybe I need to check them out again but yeah respect to the company I'm sure they are great people and I wish them the best and much success even if I wasn't a huge fan
Wow these look great. Love vanilla bean scents. Lack of ingredients is gonna be hardpass though. Too many allergies and sensitivities of kids and family members that can't risk it! Also hate when you get a product and then out of nowhere the product changes and no ingredient label makes that harder to understand.
Is the Honest Amish brand still relevant? I've been dying to mix it up but I've been so hesitant... been too many years to share lol but i do want to try another brand.. 🥺🥺please help
What I noticed in my beard journey is those exotic ingredients never did well in my beard and to spend $35 and it not work is a no thanks, if it doesn’t have the basic natural Jojoba, Argan, vitamin E and fragrances it won’t do well, those grape-seed, sunflower, castor oil is not for me, great video though
Appreciate your feedback! Ingredients found in our Premium oils ($35) are meadowfoam seed, broccoli seed, rosehip seed, pomegranate seed, vitamin e as tocopherols, and rosemary oil extract
For $35 I should be seeing meadowfoam, rose hip, broccoli seed oils at the top of the list. Definitely not grape seed?? Good on them for the almond oil near the top though. However still not worth $35.

Grape seed for a premium oil is to much. I would say the 20 dollar bottle has a better lineup of oils
