This is the most academic of the many hundreds of scent videos out there. Thanks. This was a unique and well-researched video! There are videos about fashion, music, lifestyle, economics, toys, sports, etc from each decade, but NONE about scents!
80s: Drakkar Noir / CK Obsession / Classic Ralph Lauren 90s: Chanel Platinum / Polo Sport / Davidoff CoolWater 00s: D&G Light Blue / Chanel Allure Line / RL Romance 10s: Creed Aventus / Invictus / One Million 20s: Khamrah / YSL Y / Le Male Elixir / Erba Pura I would say these are some of the most iconics for each decade.
@@cs9115 why not? It have been the n1 perfume in fragrantica for like 1 whole year. I’m not the biggest clone fan but it is an iconic fragrance of this decade no doubt.
Fun fact: $2 in 1930 is like $37.80 today, so honestly, it’s wild the price hasn’t changed in nearly 100 years! 😂 Anyway, love the channel, man. Keep it up!
That's hands down one of the best video ideas in the whole fragrance TH-cam realm! I don't watch your channel regularly but now I will. Keep it creative brother ✌️
But there is no better Eau De Cologne than Aspen. It was discontinued a couple years ago, but all the stores still have it. 10 dollars for 4oz, cannot be beat. For decades most have claimed it is a clone of Green Irish Tweed, and that you cannot tell the difference. It i basically known as the 10 dollar clone of a 300 dollars fragrance. I actually prefer Eau De Colognes over Eau De Toilette and Eau De Parfum, and Aspen is my favorite Eau De Cologne. Another Eau e Cologne that is great is Stetson Country. Kept reading a bunch of post from people saying how great it was I actually had an old bottle that I never used Sprayed it on, and they're right, it is awesome. Made by the same company a Aspen.
I ❤ the scents my father wore. Born in '41 and had Jim Brown energy. Aspen, One Man Show, Eau Sauvage, Lagerfeld, English Leather, & Full Metal Jacket were his staples. My great uncle only wore Pierre Cardin. Those old school scents scream "MAN" to me bc of them 🕊️
Going thru time was a great idea and a way to bring something different to the scene! My mom sold Avon for a good minute and I got to experience a ton of their products! Most were pretty good! My mom wanted some 4711! I got her the green & red versions. They smell good & fresh with zero longevity! 😂
I think the fragrances that captured the 1980s were: Drakkar Noir, YSL KOUROS, CHANEL ANTEUS, Calvin Klein Obsession, & DAVIDOFF Cool Water. The fragrances that captured the 1990s were: Acqua Di Giò, JPG Le Male, CK One, Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger, L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, AZZARO CHROME, & Givenchy Pi.
First of all...I am big fan and have been watching you for several years...I am also a frag head with several hundred fragrances in my collection with some rare discontinued fragrances in my collection, but have always loved your take on fragrances ever since I watched your first video...Just wanted to share that fragrantica states Aspen launched in 1989 (not the 70's)...a better representation of the 70's might have been Halston Z14 which is a loud cinnamon bomb and launched in 1974...def a winter fragrance or at least these days it would be...have you ever tried it??
Yeah, I noticed after the video was completed. The seller represented the fragrance as being released in the 70’s. As the fragrances were curated for the video, the discrepancy was missed. No, I haven't tried Z14, or I don't recall trying it.
You should try it just for nostalgic purposes...give you a true idea what the 70's had to offer...and a good staple of the 80's frag scene that would fill a room was Giorgio for Men from Giorgio Beverly Hills...you should try that one as well if you have never tried it... anyway, keep pumping out the great content... it's guys like you that put Jeremy Fragrance out of business...LOL
Really exceptional video. Good stuff! A very welcome change from the usual list grind of fragcomm. Big agree on the other comment about not enough videos focusing on the scents!
Aspen today is still good. Especially at like $15. The inspiration for Green Irish Tweed, N Cool water. I can't prove it, but I think the black ice aire freshner was tryna copy it some.
Love this video, great idea! Very interesting. I wonder if the reason for all the strong fragrances is because fragrances had to compete with cigarette smoke. Everyone seemed to smoke and everywhere must have smelled like an ash tray.
Very interesting and quite atypical scents from what most of us fragrance people would think of when mentioning said decades. We’re in a great time for fragrances as we can wear anything and everything. Back then, when a certain scent group was popular, that is what you HAD to wear. Sure we predominantly smell SWY and Sauvage everywhere. But they are abudant more than ever. Especially with clones.
@ my mom found som old perfumes when her mom died. One of them where the original Chanel nr.5. still sealed. It was sold for quite a bit 😀. Others where different brands, but opened. Almost all of them had this bad pissy like smell. It was so bad. So in no way, (I hope) did people use it and smell like that, back then 🤭
I have aspen for men in my collection ( of course the new formulation) and I really love it... Especially on hot summer days it has a cooling effect. Really great green lavender cologne!
That's unfair because the vintage/classics don't smell the same as they once did back in their 'heyday'. That being said, i'll pick the vintage/classic any day without flinch.
4711 is in my top 5 honestly. Nothing else gives me that peck up like it does. Out of the shower , first waking up , going to bed (spray my pillow with a decant bottle). Neroli scents is my jam
I really enjoyed this video-it was both educational and engaging. I've noticed an increase in production value lately, but I believe too much production can sometimes detract from authenticity. Your earlier, simpler videos had a unique charm that I miss. That said, the editing remains excellent as always. A touch of production is fine, but please don’t overdo it. Also, a small critique: the typo where 'smelled' appeared instead of 'smell' was a slip that your team should catch. Maybe ask for a 2% discount from the production team for that!
That was a dope video. The vintage stuff caught my eye. Too bad about all that nasty packaging 😅. Don't know if you like rap, but DJ Quik mentioned wearing Givenchy in "Tonight."Again, great video.
Unfortunately, all perfumes from 2000 onwards no longer smell as they should because they are expired. The chemicals in the bottle keep reacting and the more time passes, the more the scent changes. It would be great to be able to smell these new perfumes, but even if each brand re-released them it would not be the same because the vast majority of ingredients they contained have been banned, and there is no safe synthetic replacement for each of them.
We searched vintage fragrances from (insert decade) on eBay. Checked the reviews, seller accuracy, and best condition for each fragrance and placed the order.
I remember when I was a teenager in the late 90s, I used to wear Hugo Boss edt, Davidoff cool water and CK Eternity edt. Got many compliments from those. Well I was a lot better looking back then 😅
I still have a big bottle of givenchy pour homme blue top and matching aftershave. Bought the set in the fragrance shop in france epcot(disney) back in 2007.
I almost fell out my seat with 70s aspen. We were hitting Walgreens samplers before school in high school back in the 90s for a couple sprays of aspen.
I picked up cosmair polo, warner Ralph Lauren polo, vintage zino by Davidoff, vintage ysl kouros, vintage hero cologne lol, and vintage Pierre cardin, original bottle of ck obsession, Mix of late 70s- late 80s, man those were the days. The OGs are so much better imo for fragrances
next time, keep a cup of hot coffee next to you when you smell a fragrance, and you smell another right after it, it will influence your judgement regarding the second fragrance. when you smell the coffee in between, it's like a rest button to smell purely
Remember in the 70s the cologne smelled like aftershave...Old Spice, etc...in the 80s in my teenage years there was the original Polo..Drakkar Noir ...90s were sweeter frags like Claiborne, Polo still around, frags sweeter, not as loud or alcohol smelling for me evolve to where we are today....today in my opinion frags are about the drydown and longevity...just on my personal journey learned not to judge a frag by the opening...good stuff
13:00 man that’s how I got into fragrances selling Avon at the flea markets when I was a kid… My Moms has us working young 😅 this video was dope man Keep changing the game … aye you deleted ya snap chat? I hit ya man

90s: Chanel Platinum / Polo Sport / Davidoff CoolWater
00s: D&G Light Blue / Chanel Allure Line / RL Romance
10s: Creed Aventus / Invictus / One Million
20s: Khamrah / YSL Y / Le Male Elixir / Erba Pura
I would say these are some of the most iconics for each decade.
Maybe this will be the next video.
Khamrah isn't "iconic" or anywhere near any of the others mentioned. That's some fragcom weirdo shit. No one knows what that is irl.
In ‘20s put sauvage elixir instead of khamrah
@@cs9115 why not? It have been the n1 perfume in fragrantica for like 1 whole year. I’m not the biggest clone fan but it is an iconic fragrance of this decade no doubt.
I'd say Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male for the 90's as well!
Fun fact: $2 in 1930 is like $37.80 today, so honestly, it’s wild the price hasn’t changed in nearly 100 years! 😂 Anyway, love the channel, man. Keep it up!
Good point…Thanks for tuning in, my guy!
you are the only channel with unique contents, keep up the great work!
Appreciate that 🙏🏾.
@@TheTripleBwayyou should’ve put your nose on YSL Opium for men either the EDT or EDP for 2000 (but I know you had giants of that era)
This is the MOST creative fragrance content on TH-cam right now. Hands down. Keep it up, King.
Aspen came out in 1989, the colognes that were popular in the 70s, was Jovan Musk, original Polo, Pierre Cardin, and Paco Rabanne original
This is the fragrance content I didn't know I needed, and now I'm going to hold everyone else to a higher standard.
🙏🏾
Wore Aspen a lot in high school back in the late 1900s 😂.
😂that’s hilarious
Mane I found a bottle of Aspen at Citi Trends😂😂😂
I wore it back in high school too
I wore it too in the mid 90's LMAO. My Dad had this one. He also had Stetson,Brut, and Halston.
I was so ready for Drakkar Noir to be the 80s pick and Sauvage to the 2010s pick!
Honestly both smell phenomenal
I love this concept of fragrances throughout the decades. Can you make this an annual holiday video?
I appreciate that! I'm on a mission to keep the fragrance game exciting and fun. We’ll see how this one does, but i’m not opposed to keeping it going.
Triple B. No lie, this was amazing, creative, and original...
Great Content, OMG so informative. Best one I've seen in a minute.
BBB what a refreshing video sir. Thank you for putting the work in.
Such a dope video idea man. I really enjoyed this
literally my exact thought when I read the title. Something I've thought about but never really looked into yk
1. 70’s Dunhill Blend 30
2. 80’s Chanel Antaeus
3. 90’s Lagerfield Photo
Great video! Love stuff like this!
I love Brut EDT. Not the green splash bottle. The clear glass with sprayer. Absolutely a banger.. 100% recommend.
That's hands down one of the best video ideas in the whole fragrance TH-cam realm! I don't watch your channel regularly but now I will. Keep it creative brother ✌️
I wear 4711 today! It’s a great refreshing scent. I also wear No 6 by Caswell and Massey, which was worn by George Washington.

best in frag youtube, love to see expert who is also passionate and creative
This was dope. History and fragrance, love it!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the scent journey.
You never disappoint. The content is informative and I enjoyed the clip. Thank you for all of the work that you put in✌🏾

Facts 90s had joop! Ck1 Tommy Hilfiger a gang of Versace flankers, I was young but I don’t know anyone who wore Stetson. NO ONE!😂

Stumbled across this video randomly and I gotta say love the video man you got another subscriber keep up the work man
Thank you and welcome to the fam.
love this style of content man, keep it up!
Where's the old spice?! It's by far the only scent that takes me somewhere back in time
I wore aspen in the 90s and Givenchy red top in the 2000s
This is an awesome video on fragrances! Earned my sub for sure!
in the late 90 one of the most popular was Curve by Liz Claiborne
Tumi unwind is one of my favorites. Everyone tells me it's very unique. And that it is. It smells great but it also smells like no other.

I tuned in bcuz I like fragrances but stayed cuz of the cinema, very well done
Now you cooking with grease!!!! That was outstanding!!!!!! Wonder if the international frags were the same...
Maybe some smell bad because of age, and perfume gone bad.
I’m sure of it. I could tell by the color that some had turned.

I was wearing z14 in the eighties. Along with Polo green bottle.
Classics
You should had some coffee grounds beside you so you can smell it after you smell those strong colognes 😅
This took about 2 hours to film. There’s a lot that doesn't make the cut.
Big dog u do this shit for real for real! Appreciate it!
Real recognizes real! Glad to have you in the pack, my friend!

Great content my guy, have you heard of night flight joop and tea time? Some of my favorites, came out in the 90s, hard to find tea time.
I'll check it out

I used to rock Aspen in the mid 90’s. They used to advertise during sitcoms. I believe it was about 15 bucks for a spray bottle. A nice cheapie
Clearly...given ur taste based on exposure you will likely prefer the modern fragrances more. No mystery there.
This is true
I'm only three minutes in, but I'm going to say right now, the 1990s is my favorite decade for fragrances. (I'm a 37-year-old man.)
next time, keep a cup of hot coffee next to you
