I'm obsessed with the masked torchbearer
Assassin Creed 😉
A reference to French video games, Ubisoft and Asssassin’s creed are French, just like the Minions that stole Mona Lisa.
@@brunol-p_g8800yes. It is also a reference to ALL masked heroes of the French culture and littérature : Phatom of the opera, fantomas, Count of Monte Cristo, Man with an iron mask etc…)
😊と
Same :D
@@CitronCassis Yup, there are so many of those, also the Man in the Iron Mask, who was arrested and his identity remains a mystery to this day. The place where they first see him, and then get into his boat is Canal Saint-Martin, winch runs under where the Bastille used to be; the very place where the Man in the Iron/Velvet mask finally died.
His name is Simon Nogueira, famous Parkour Frenchman, with the help from others too as he said he couldn't be everywhere 😊
of Portuguese descent 😉
It represents the many masked heroes/antiheroes that are part of French media through the years and their culture.
Actually, the masked torchbearer named Zorro by France Televisions.
What's his profession other than the Paris Olympic opening ceremony 😊? I mean, he was doing cartwheel with the torch 😅
it's not him. he is not that short.
this opening ceremony was a million times more entertaining than any before! sure they could've avoided a couple bad ideas, but showcasing the louvre, the notre dame cathedral, the bridges, all the dancers, the boats, and the fact the mysterious man goes through all this just makes me break out in a huge smile.
Amazing ceremony. The only thing that could have been better was the camera production.
But when you know it had been kept secret and never was rehearsed, it's understandable...
Can you name those "bad ideas" please ? For me everything was fantastic, the only bad ideas were the alt-right, christians reactions to this opening ceremony, the entire world appreciated. But the alt-right political agenda, still have to critize all the epic world moment. Old and always the same way to get aside the progress. We all know that.
@@jupiter3067 I could've done without the sketch of people insinuating they're going to have a threesome. Possibly not showing the decapitated Marie Antoinette because the music was amazing but didn't need the creepy sight. And the part at the end with the torch took ten years longer than needed. They just had to show up where the athletes converged so they could see it but that was a mistake if the cauldron was so far away. Other than that, it was really great.
I studied the French revolution, arts and history. So I appreciate the opening ceremony more. The first few minutes at the beginning, where the guy walked into the empty stadium 🏟️ was the character from Amelie Poulain, even when the news were announced that the ceremony was not in the stadium was in Amelie style 😊.
Did you notice the Little Prince &his Fox on the tiny planet?
@@jupiter3067 absurdes christians reactions because of a confusion between 2 paintings; it was « the gods of olympus » ( Dyonisos was in blue not an apostle).
A superb ceremony that was also supposed to be magical for the athletes.
The history of France in concert with a message of hope and love for all!
Thank you.
I finished Assassin's Creed Unity for the second time after watching the Olympics.
Thank you putting all his scenes together! I love watching all his scenes! :D
What arno went through after exile and building his own brotherhood:
Loved the whole ceremony! One of my kids was pretending to be the masked torchbearer the other day.
adorable!
He was the best part of the ceremony, along with Celine. I loved him, and so hope he reveals himself at the closing ceremony.
There were 12 different persons under the mask and some of them have already been revealed. 😅😂
@@shizukagozen777 hey, if they all come together, on stage dressed as the masked torchbearer, and un mask themselves, that would be awesome 😎
@@abbb4460
Indeed but maybe some of them want to stay anonymous ? Idk.
He did appear at closing ceremony : )
Love how the melody at 0:58 becomes en epic version of itself when the phantom appears again at the end, at 9:32. So epic.
My Phantom of the Olympics!!!
After hearing the first notes of his first appearance, I think his design and inclusion it's based on Le Fantôme de l'Opéra (The Phantom of the Opera) because this famous novel was published in Paris at 1910
This and the video game Assassin's Creed, which was created by a French studio and had a massively successful opus set in Paris.
Céline, Gojira and him were the best of the ceremony!
Ah, thank you. I rewatched the ceremony twice just to see this, and now it's all here. Quite obvious it was different people. He was quite short standing next to the can-can dancers, but at the end next to Zidane, he was taller.
I think it's logic to have multiple people to portray 'The hooded figure' it was a large area where the opening ceremony took place and for the various things 'the hooded figure' had to do, you need multiple specialists.
Sometimes HE was taller.. sometimes slimer... May be a woman too ? 😊
@@user-ds9vr3mg4zthe female metal horse Rider galloping on the river is the co designer of the metal horse . The metal horse is on display at the design studio in Paris
How is that proof? Standing sort of near different people isn't enough.
I love that dude and especially the costume!! It’s so cool!! Maybe if I have enough will (and some talent) I create a replica :D
LOVE this guy!! and such a SURPRISE see him and the knight again at closing ceremony🥰🥺🥺🥺
For sure, it's Arno during French Revolution... Ubisoft it's french industry working in Canada.
Thank you for the video !
Well, we had a big clue with the cartoon of the hot air balloon that it would later be the inspiration for the Olympic cauldron.
I Didn’t guess it during the ceremony but it is clearer now :)
There is a young french canadian journalist from Radio-Canada, who dare to commenting the olympic cauldron came from nowhere, and nobody can figure why France did choose this hot balloon.... (journalist you said! Damn, we don't have the quality of journalism we had !)
@@jupiter3067 😬😂… in French the « montgolfière » (French word for Hot air balloon) comes from the French Montgolfier brothers. 🙃
Well I guess this 🇨🇦 « journalist » learned something after the ceremony. 🙄😂
this man was honestly fun to watch.
I love this character ❤❤❤❤❤
As a fun fact: the character that officially ported the touch is Arno from Assassin's Creed Unity and it is because Ubisoft lend the 3D blueprints of the game to rebuild Notre Dame after the fire in 2020
I love the ceremony! His costume, Celine and the French opera singer gowns are all designed by Dior
Will definitely cosplay as the masked torchbearer this year.
No, stop spreading lies....Yes the deed of giving that help was good but you seriously believe the organizers BASED the main ceremony character/segment on 3D file donations and a video game...? It's too funny there are people so shallow they believe this, omg.....a small nod, just an indirect reference, something "overlapping", sure, I can agree with that. You understand that the assassins creed designs and themes are all TAKEN from actual history/literature/art? Your idea of "officially Arno cuz of 3d files!" is sooo dumb, I'm sorry.
@@figurehead3021 yeap, even Ubisoft confirm it.
@@aurorablanket Did the olympic federation or Paris confirm it? No. Ubisoft only saw the same "resemblance" (during the ceremony!!) and did a callback and posted a comment "Watch the rooftops of Paris". the organizers have not confirmed anything cause there is nothing to confirm. And gaming websites will obviously reference this as a huge proof or fact, but think a bit outside the box, please...
Wait a minute why do people hate this? This is amazing!
The children on the boat are so cute
I already always loved and liked Assassin's Creed: Unity sequel video-game because I'm played the video-game first and so I'm getting the Paris Olympics 2024 have the attention around the world globe. This already always Most Anticipated, Must-watch, and Most Watched Olympics chapter for me. Happy Paris Olympics Month Day!! occasion!!! celebration!!!! 👍👍👍 (July 26, 2024) greetings again for all the Parisians, Olympic sports athletes around the world globe, and as well as French community citizens peoples. 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏💪💪💯💯💯💯
Is Assasins Creed.
探していた動画です。本当にありがとうございます映像パートが尽くかっこいいってなんですか。
He came back yesterday one last time to celebrate french champions on the Champs-Elysees. He gave the 3 theatre knocks to mark the begining of the french athletes and para-athletes parade. I was in the crowd and let me tell you, everyone was freaking out while he was doing his iconic flips and tricks 😂❤🎉
💯💯💯💯💯👏👏👏👏❤️🤎🤍🧡💚💙💜💟🏅🏅🏅 Magnifique Cérémonie d 'Ouverture Paris 2024 . Les Jeux Olympiques sont une superbe réussite... Topissime 💯💯💯💯❤❤❤
Интересная история. Я всё время ждал, что же придумают дальше. Необычно и увлекательнно получилось.
Here for the masked torchbearer.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
omg, they uploaded it _much_ sooner than they did for past olympics ceremonies
Phantom Assassin brainrot is real!
My family unironically thought there would be some big reveal that the masked torchbearer would turn out to be Mbappe or some other famous person.
Nevertheless, this would make a killer Halloween costume.
It's unclear, and there are rumors, but some say there could be a reveal at the closing ceremony (of a celebrity).
Or that it will be a continuity thread to the Paralympics ceremonies.
In one of the documentaries about the creative process and preparations there's Thomas Jolly (the artistic director and scenarist) talking about an eventful unmasking.
So suppositions are running wild...
Anyway, the masked character was a reference to multiple characters in French history, from the Phantom of the Opera to Assassin's Creed...
Don't read any further if you don't want spoilers....
There's a quasi certainty that Tom Cruise will take part in the closing ceremony for an epic junction and relay between Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 games.
The underground canal on which the masked character and the kids sailed is featured in Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible : Fallout (2018?).
He was also seen shooting scenes on a motorbike in Paris, just like in the movie...
There are other surprises though.
This ceremony left me many different feelings from admiration to disgust. But I think this character is the peak of this ceremony! The fire-bearing parkourist and time traveler was simply incredibly cool!
Actually also Aron the French assassin from assassin Creed 😂😂😂😂 love the game!!!
That's Arno Dorian, the French Assassin Creed if ever seen one =))))
I don't want to say that Tokyo disappointed me but if France is the best I liked the music and more this reference to a game that famous say what they say this ceremony was better the boring interior as a funeral
Made sure those kids had those life jackets on before moving the boat
Arno i love you men😭 your game never receive 60fps patch
Ac unity getting the Shout-out it deserves
Just giving credit to the 9 torchbearers and professionals of parkour : Lilou Ruel (1:41), Guillaume Larrazabal (4:11 & 5:10), Maxence De Schrooder (5:13), Johan Tonnoir (5:40), Andrea Catozzi (8:52), Austin Lutece (9:35), and Simon Nogueira (rooftops), Caryl Cordt-Moller (closing ceremony & during "Synchronicity" not shown on camera), Maxime Renaud (rooftops).
love this
Fantástico
Like the Phantom of the Opera?
This stuntman did a good job too!
The kids on the boat were so cute,🥰🥰
and it was so moving and dreamy to see the boat moving forward with the torch!
assassin's creed
There always seems to be some sort of background per say Character that while has no impact on the opening Ceremony does infact have an impact at the same time as this guy is like a where's waldo as you never know where he will be and also showing you the sights of PAris. Utah in 2002 had someone like this that was like a flame in the night guiding travers.
The masked torch bearer was awesome. BUT! They didn't even have a reveal for him (or her). I'm just saying, all that built up intrigue and no payoff!!! C'mon Paris they should have had it reveal a special individual would have made for a nice surprise.
Maybe the closing ceremony ? Well, we will see
There are a lot of suppositions about the closing ceremony, and one actor in particular making the link between Paris and Los Angeles....
One that already sailed on the underground canal in Paris and was seen on a motorbike in the streets of Paris...
He/she is litteraly Assasins Creed
I still wonder who was the masked torchbearer
Yep many people forget Les Mis was originally French ( and a decent hit) and then translated for the English-speaking market and became an even bigger hit...
I’m impressed the torchbearer didn’t fall on the wet floor at 8:50! Reminds me of Mickey Mouse falling on dry floor in a Fantasmic! showing just as the pyrotechnic was about to go off in th-cam.com/users/shorts0jE2hOUcRdM?si=xTbGpu7WVJLIDT3t.
Same here ! I often walk on this bridge and I never paid attention if it's slippery when wet but if it was me running on this bridge, I would have definitely ridiculed myself. 😭
IKR? whatever shoes they got him in must have hella grip
Reminds me of assassins creed
Génial..........Pas assez long Maurice.......Pas assez long .......
Do you also have the entire opening ceremony? I watched it at a noisy bar without the commentary, if so, where can I find it? Thanks 🙏
each country has different channels where they livestreamed/uploaded it that cant be accessed by other countries. so maybe one of the olympics sponsors from your country couldve uploaded it (??)

So the ceremony wasn't performed live in the stadium?
Hello from France..I'll explain..No, not in the stadium..in fact the "sports delegations" paraded in boats on the "Seine" the river that crosses Paris..A 6 km route..and all along the 6 km, there were entertainment, singers, musicians, acrobats, etc etc..Watch on You-tube a very beautiful scene with a "rider on a metal horse" running on the River..And what you see in the video is the bearer of the "Olympic flame" crossing Paris on the Rooftops. This is to mark the difference with the other ceremonies, nothing was done in the stadium..And the "Olympic flame" is a "hot air balloon" that rises every evening in the sky of Paris..Superb..Michel-Henri
There is also the fact that Covid 19 played a part on why everything is played outside the stadium. Stil I think this change is unique and definitely different from the rest of the opening ceremonies
@@mhv8855 thank you
@@suwaidajalal The Closing Ceremony, however, will be in a stadium.
What is the music starting at 1:32? I really like it
La foule by Edith Piaf
th-cam.com/video/o2Tz1yV48NQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=c4QUT4CXtUCLisd7
It's a very old French song (1958) sung by Edith Piaf..I put "the link" on you-tube...Michel-Henri From France...
The only character I found very interesting + the golden moth
c'est du ballon atomique 💪😁👍
Albertvville Opening ceremony was also quiet innovative, but nobody spoke about it. Why ?
Not memorable? I still remember James Bond and the queen jumping off the helicopter 🚁
Still remember Brazil planting trees,
Both warn hearts and made people smile
The Paris opening ceremony was filled with history, arts, culture and pop culture. For some who studied the French revolution, watching Many famous French movies, i really appreciated it. The guy who walked into the empty stadium was the actor from Amelie Poulain, made it 2001? Even the world news announcing the ceremony was not in the stadium was made in Amelie style. Yes, i recognized a character from 2001, because watched the movie too many times, and learning French
@@___beyondhorizon4664 The french actor in the empty stadium is famous in France. He played a lot in the Asterix movies.
Of course his north African origin, as well as Zinedine Zidane was a kick-off the the alt-right party of France which criticize the immigration !
