Fishing a local club tournament monthly for years taught me good practice in choosing baits. I also learned handling a boat is rough weather. First bait was a purple ribbed single curled tail silver fleck dipped in chartreuse paint on a Texas rigged hook, or a Carolina rig. And a watermelon red fleck tube you described on a Texas rigged EWG hook with the tail lightly dipped in Chartreuse paint. We did good on our tournaments and in bigger tournaments we enters. A tube is still y go to bait most of the year.
Started fishing tubes this past summer , may have been your video that made me remember I had a bunch of bags of tubes I picked up at a flea market a few years earlier , they worked really well in the curly leaf pond weed in my local lake , also got a few good ones with a tube on a tokyo rig and on a free rig , thanks for the great advice . Oh and PS, if anyone has an Ollies around them they sometimes have this gel attractant with scales specifically made for tubes , not sure if its helped but sure didn't hurt
Ty I would really not want to fish you for money, seriously I'm not to worried about fishing most for some pocket cash but, I don't think you would get any action outta me, truly one of the best you tube anglers out there, I know a lot of pros that know their stuff but not like you do, if your ever in south Texas hit me up, I go everyday, I'd fish with ya.
Great info. The site you mentioned for ordering them do not list the Flip-N-Tube originally by Denny Bauer. The site shows Coffee Tubes, which were not thick solid heads 4 yrs back when I ordered them. By the way, you had lots of folks order the coffee tubes. As the site is out off stock now. Only the Flip-N-Tube name is the thick headed ones, that I know of with hollow bodies, from 2 decades ago. Also tubes leaves that air bubble trail, excellent for the shallow parts of reservoirs in, Indian river county fl, man made impoundments. Plus excellent hollow cavity for applying attractant.
I need to get into flipping a tube, I use tubes all the time for smallies rigged with a jighead.. great information on the tube that will for sure help out thanks!
From cincinnati. Glad i stumbled upon your channel cus if you can fish in this area you can fish anywhere. Bill is one of the best out there. Thank you sir.
I learned how to bass fish almost 20 years ago in Ohio with a Texas rigged green pumpkin tube. I dont see ppl use them much anymore including myself. I need to bring them back this year. Great video
Great suggestions man. Bill is one of my favorite guys too. Thanks. I will be giving it a shot here in Michigan……when the freaking ice melts. I have a lot of tubes so I’m going play with them
Love your videos. I’ve been fishing tubes for years here in the middle of the country...smallmouth, largemouth and walleye all love it. I like to put 1/2 of an alka seltzer inside the tube occasionally and those fizzy bubbles bring in some beautiful bites.
I know you mentioned swimming a tube but What are your thoughts about swimming a tub on the back of a chatter bait/ bladed jig? With or w/o a skirt? I love the videos! Keep it up.
Try it, it works!! I did that for the past 2 yrs and have had good results. You have to remember everyone and their brother throws the Chatterbait with a creature bait or swim bait trailer. It’s good to let the fish see something their not used to. I throw mine w/o a skirt.
You make a strong case for fishing cover and using lighter weights. I will assume that you use a Texas rig to make it weedless. Which method(s) do you recommend?
I use to fish tubes almost exclusively when I was young.. then I discovered senkos and they basically replaced my tube fishing.. getting back to my love for tubes now though! Was sad to see my favorite, Chompers, are no longer made going to have to give these strike kings a try
I flip a stupid tube and I love it because you don't have the weight sitting on top of the tube and it's just something that's a little different than most people throw
I think another common mistake people make is not Texas rigging them. They assume you have to put a jig head in them with hook exposed out the side which makes them a pain to fish in cover so they only use them in open water situations with less things to hang up on.
im gonna say mist guys are usin , ned rigs , wacky worm, or cramkvait, jackhammers these days. u prob be 10 % throwin tubes or the original zoom fluke ir the Sluggo! and those all work but the wacky and ned are just hard to pass on.
You mentioned Ohio several times an d I am wondering if you live in Ohio and where. I am in the Cleveland area. I also love fishing with tube baits but never considered the rig you were using. I will have to try it. Thanks for this video.
I'm in my sixties I fish tubes forever quick little just a little thing if you take a piece of Alka-Seltzer just a small piece and put it up in the tube kick it out there it'll set but it'll bubble and Alka-Seltzer has a lot of salt it's amazing I've caught a ton of bass doing it that way just a quick little hint
Agree, its been kinda forgotten about. The industry has a way of shining a light on headliners..... and sometimes quality stuff is left behind. Thanks for the vid and talking about a tube.
I wish I could say a bear attacked me or something cool but I dove into a pool and didn’t realize how shallow it was. Struck the bottom eyebrow first :/
Enjoy your videos. You should break away from every other TH-camr and stop titling everything about the mistakes we are making. Just provide the information in a positive manner. Just a suggestion...thanks.
I know what you are saying! I definitely try to be positive in all my videos. I don’t like negativity. I would like to get away from titling something as a mistake, but unfortunately the analytics speak for themselves. People tend to watch ‘mistake’ videos more than ‘tip’ videos. Hopefully I can get the channel to a place where it doesn’t matter but still working on growing my audience. Thank you for watching

thnkx jason!
Usually being confined to the bank, the tip to keep it in one spot for longer will be beneficial for sure. Thanks for another great one! :)
Swim that tube from the bank

Man I love these videos. Great information every time.
Thanks so much for watching Marcus
I’m in South eastern Ohio and I know exactly what your saying about pressure on the ponds and lakes! I’m definitely gonna try a tube!

Tubes are the most underrated bait that everyone knows about IMO.I’ve tried a bunch of them but bass pros tender tubes are by far my favorite.
I need to get into flipping a tube, I use tubes all the time for smallies rigged with a jighead.. great information on the tube that will for sure help out thanks!

Good stuff. Thanks for the swimming a tube tip! Gonna try that. 👍🏼🎣😎
It is super subtle and will catch them when they aren’t biting anything else
I learned how to bass fish almost 20 years ago in Ohio with a Texas rigged green pumpkin tube. I dont see ppl use them much anymore including myself. I need to bring them back this year. Great video
I'm a big fan of a tube bait and your comments are spot on. Keep the content coming.
nice lure for good fishing 👍Thailand need that lure
Great suggestions man. Bill is one of my favorite guys too. Thanks. I will be giving it a shot here in Michigan……when the freaking ice melts. I have a lot of tubes so I’m going play with them
Gonna give them a try tomorrow here in Florida. Great video.
Great video. Tubes has kind of been on the back burner for me. Now I am going to have to get them back out and get em wet again. Thanks

Alka seltzer...never heard that. Gonna try that just for s and g.
@@lbhouse01122 ...I was told that little trick by an old tourney fisherman. Hope you get some good results!
@@lbhouse01122 You can also use cow/cat/dog scat. You put the scat into the top of the tube and bass just crush it! Its a great trick.
Thank you for the video! Should you use a bullet weight or flippin weight?
I know you mentioned swimming a tube but What are your thoughts about swimming a tub on the back of a chatter bait/ bladed jig? With or w/o a skirt? I love the videos! Keep it up.

I agree the tube is great. Another awesome video here great job 👏
I’ve attached a tube to a thunder cricket after I took the skirt off! Small mouth love it.

Great to see your vids pretty much everytime I punch out from work. Any advice for neko rig? I wanna master more bottom hopping rigs this year
Tube on a light punch rig. I make longer punch rigs to keep the bait off the bottom. Works great.
I really like that MegaStrike 4" tube they have a solid head about a 1/2" and looks like a craw
Never had luck with the tube bit I use it when it's tough in lake Monroe Indiana. May try in Guntersville in couple weeks and see what happens
Great video as always Tyler packed with great info!
I use to fish tubes almost exclusively when I was young.. then I discovered senkos and they basically replaced my tube fishing.. getting back to my love for tubes now though! Was sad to see my favorite, Chompers, are no longer made going to have to give these strike kings a try
I ALWAYS have one tied on with a couple of colors on standby!
I’ve found some Strike King Salty Lizard Tubes, any ideas on how to fish them? They’re in great shape just bout 10 yo
Did you snap the rod on that hook set in the heavy cover? That sounded crazy
Always great content, thanks Tyler!
Awesome video. What size hook do you use on you tubes?
Thanks,
Love your content thank you
Thanks for watching Kyle! I appreciate it
Do you have a link to the craw video?
Really awesome video man! 💪
I flip a stupid tube and I love it because you don't have the weight sitting on top of the tube and it's just something that's a little different than most people throw
Love the tube... I've had those trokar tube hooks on backorder since ur summer video haha
Dang Covid supply chain issues
I bought some plain chatter bait jigs I'm going to put a couple different tubes on them instead of skirts and try that out
I think another common mistake people make is not Texas rigging them. They assume you have to put a jig head in them with hook exposed out the side which makes them a pain to fish in cover so they only use them in open water situations with less things to hang up on.

What kind of hook and what size?
Great to hear from someone who understands the tough fishing we have in Ohio.
BassFishingHQ, what is the make, model and year is your boat?
2014 Phoenix 920
Great stuff!!
I use it on a Carolina rig with good results
I also use it on a skirtless chatterbait
What hook does Tyler use for tubes?
Trokar tube hook. Usually a 5/0
You mentioned Ohio several times an d I am wondering if you live in Ohio and where. I am in the Cleveland area. I also love fishing with tube baits but never considered the rig you were using. I will have to try it. Thanks for this video.
Thanks you are a fountain of info
what if we peg the weight a little higher would it still stay somewhat in the same spot?
Yes you don’t need to peg the weight at all to get it to do this. A lot of times I don’t peg it
TUBES!!! Always catch fish . Bass pike walleye muskie white bass and sheep head they get them every time.
Excellent!
best tunes out there gitz it brand tourney flash trust me
Thanks so much
Take a small piece of cotton soaking in Scent and shove it at 2%
If you keep growing this channel, you're going to be this generations Bill Dance,...lol

yep back in 80s tossin a berkely tube with a spitshot
Would you scent those?
Agree, its been kinda forgotten about. The industry has a way of shining a light on headliners..... and sometimes quality stuff is left behind. Thanks for the vid and talking about a tube.
There will be more in the future! Thanks so much for always watching
I'm gonna tie a stinky savage gear tube today and actually try to get my skills better
whai is a laydown ?
I pretty much only fish tubes and flys.
Great video ++
Shhhhhh…let them forget about this setup!! 😂..
I fish tubes weightless. 3/0 wide hook cast and let it sink then slow real in slow from shore. Kill it
Love the video, but since when is a 3 lb bass considered really big in Ohio?? 2.5 - 3 seems like the norm for me.
Shhhhhhhh! 😂
🤫 it’s supposed to be a secret bait Yal giving out the juice
I have a youtube short video if the 10lb'er I just caught the other day with a jig and pig but my pig was a watermelon tube
Ever try flipping a stupid tube?
WTF bro how did that rod broke ? How is it possible to brake a rod on a hook set like that?
What are you favorite lakes to fish in Ohio?
Man, I want to hear the story behind that eyebrow scar. Looks like a doozy of a wallop.
I wish I could say a bear attacked me or something cool but I dove into a pool and didn’t realize how shallow it was. Struck the bottom eyebrow first :/
