I always ask dock owner's harrasing me if they would be kind enough to call the Game Warden. Even offer the number to call.. and explain to the officer why i can't fish his dock or the law I've violated by doing so. They usually just walk away. You did great.
Placing a dock on a public lake, which requires a permit, doesn’t confer ownership of one drop of the water therein. Just as having a driver’s license doesn’t confer ownership of one inch of public roadway.
True but you also can not throw garbage or other projectiles at someone’s car in traffic or Parked on the side of the road . Fishing around docks is fine , hitting their boat or dock with your lures not cool
Omg dude.... hitting there dock is NOTHING dude and not only does he not own the water he doesn't even own the land within 5 feet of the waters edge as well. Your skipping technique is super incredible, by the way.🎣
Hey Tyler, you handled yourself very well with the dock owner. Many people would’ve said “what is your problem dude”, but you did the right thing. And congrats on that 13 pounds!
Whenever I see a boater fishing around my dock, i stop what I'm doing, march straight down there and promptly ask them if they've caught anything today :)
I live in a private lake community with a 220 acre lake lined with houses and docks around the whole thing. Most people are cool but theres always ones like these who think they own the water. Its like living on a golf course and getting mad that people are playing golf, lol. So pitiful.
It always baffles me how quickly those types of people are down at their dock hassling fisherman. I've had times that before my first cast they are outside saying something, do they seriously just sit there watching out of their windows waiting for us to come by?
A couple years ago I was fishing on a river as I have done for over 40 years.. I was fishing a dock and there was a man cutting trees in his back yard and he saw me.. he ran down to the dock and proceeded to stick the chain saw blade into the water and started revving the motor.. lol.. I make sure I fish that dock every trip.. 😂
Well that was a long 7 hours for ya but I turned out great. Some times it just takes time. As far as the guy on the dock,he was just mad cause you gad a nice boat lol. Thanks for the video 👋
Good on you to avoid further confrontation. When you go fishing, you go to have a good time, forget about the real world and stress, and just focus getting that next fish. It's not worth your time.
way to handle that super professionally. a lot of guys would have gotten defensive and fired back, but in those situations just walking away is a solid move. I know some guys who wanna make a point, and that's their right to fish the water that they're legally allowed to, but as a guy running a social media channel you had to handle it that way and just move on. Showed how mature you are haha
Don’t engage with the a-holes. Play deaf and keep moving. Signing “I’m deaf” usually defuses the situation and gets hilarious reactions! Go pro is almost a necessity just for the evidence you may need in situations like that.
Home in six to seven hours!! My wife and I couldn’t make it to mosquito lake from Twinsburg. We turned around 3/4 the way there her knee was hurting I was tired and my back was hurting. Young man hold on to your youth and enjoy your vitality.
I admire your noble attitude towards that situation with dude, but when someone has a dock on the water they should accept the fact that it's just part of it.
Never mind I just realized you were on waneta lake lol I recognize that canal way anywhere 😂 you weren’t far from me at all. So many good Lakes to fish around that region. Next time try conesus lake stay to the northern east corner for bass fishing walleye and pike towards the southern end
You did the right thing avoiding confrontation. Nobody owns the water and we’re all allowed to fish. But banging jigs and other lures on other people’s boats and docks is not cool.
As a lake house owner and serious fisherman. I understand I don’t own or control the water under or around my property on the lake. You can’t damage my property, but there’s nothing I or anyone can do to stop you from fishing under my boat or dock.
I feel just like drones shouldn’t be allowed to fly over personal property, fishing shouldn’t be allowed the vicinity out to like 25ft of a dock or anything of the type for property safety and the possibility of people using that area to swim.
Totally agreed. At the end of the day, it's all about courtesy and being civil with each other. I've fished docks for 20+ years and I am very careful not to bang anything. If the property owner is on or near their dock, I either ask for permission (even though I know I don't need to) or just move on to the next one. I think that what tends to tick people off is when they feel like folks don't respect them or their property. Some people are obviously more ridiculous than others but we all benefit from being nicer to each other...
Bro its was a soft frog???? Omg this guys outrageous. You hit his dock with a rubber ducky...... OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! Maybe he just voted Harris and was mad 😂
I've fish with guys that have snagged docks and broke it off and just left it all tangled on the dock! I never do that. 99% of the time i am fishing out of a kayak and if i snag a dock i always paddle up and retrieve my tackle off that dock, I wouldn't want a anybody to get hooked because of my mistake. I have never encountered anybody like this ever. Always kind exchanges...I've even had people unhook me and thank me for making the effort to retrieve my tackle. This situation is kind of like living on a golf course and complaining when a ball lands in your yard.
If this man was polite enough, he might have been invited onto your boat to join you fishing. What a total clown. Not worth wasting your bloodpressure on for sure. Well handled, Tyler.
Tyler, I appreciate your honesty in this matter. Also, that you acknowledge the validity of this man's gripe. I've watched other channels that were labeled as "Karen, blah blah blah...". Then watched on in amazement as the angler engages, continues fishing and strikes multiple docks and boats with a not so soft bait. In my mind this gives all of a us a bad reputation. It's important that you mention "personal property " as the docks and the boats are exactly that. Who knows if there was $1600 worth of damage? That's not the point. Not one of us would enjoy someone throwing 1/2 ounce lead weights around our boats. The irony in the above cited video was that the angler dwelled on the encounter yet continued providing video evidence to his striking more than a dozen boats and docks, that I saw. I couldn't keep watching.😢 Thanks again an keep the videos coming .
I fish. We have a small place on a decent sized lake that doesn't have very many camps/cottages. There are lots of coves and long stretches of coast with no camp anywhere. On a few occasions, we have had boats come damn close to our beach and cast into our tiny cove with kids in the water. I have not patience for that at all. Plus, I have pulled various spoons, crankbaits etc out of rope we use to anchor our water supply. Again, I fish. That said, I am pretty sure a frog isn't going to cause any damage. So, come sense is a good thing when fishing.
I learned about this way back in the 80's & while there are some Home Owners who think they own the fish & water out in front of their home, most of them are trying to stop the thieves. I'd dealt w/ this for years & then a rich Uncle bought a multi-million dollar piece of property in Northern Virginia on the Occoquan Reservoir. I'm not rich but the thieves are always doing what is alright for them & sadly it's not only fishing. That said, I admit I hated their logic when I've been told I can't fish public waters & their are some of them that think they OWN everything out in front of their place = Not So ! I now have empathy for what is a serious problem & only after he bought his place did I see how bad it is first hand. By all means we've got the right to fish the waters & there's no magic pill to stop the criminals but if you're an up -n- up honest fisherman, watch for their property to try to catch the thieves..... If you had the property which I do not, you'd instantly know/understand how bad it is? Keep on fishing... peace & GB ALL
W/L…. We call him space rocket guy😂😂.. it was nothing you did or anything fresh on his mind. He literally treats everyone like that. He hassles and threatens fishermen that simply approach his dock.
