Most people can understand the benefits of studying a lot about one or more topics but they cannot understand the benefit of deadlifting 400 pounds. And to be fair there aren't that many. Once you are 5-10 pounds of mass away from hitting your natty potential you already look like a greek god to the common man and you will be better off spending your energy on other endeavors.

Definitely hurts to know looking good physically doesn't equal success. Socialising is difficult with autism but I make the push to say hello to everyone on my morning run (after my weights), making difficult talks with job interviews (searching for a new job) and always practicing my smile. At home I practice for my esports team which is also a serious commitment since a younger age. The worst part is actually waking up early in the morning to do all these things I want. I do not want only my body to define my identity. Keep grinding Kings

I believe that bodybuilding/powerlifting/olympic lifting etc, have this effect on us because it's a area of life that you really have control over, it all comes down to YOUR choices, what you eat, if you drink or not, how you sleep, stretching/mobility work, cardio, the right periodization. If you do well, it's because of your choices, if you don't, still because of you. You don't have a team to support you if you made a mistake, you don't have a team to carry the weight of failure with you, if you fuck up, it' because of your choices, that you are where you are. We are all gonna make it boys, godspeed.

I have lived the gymcel lifestyle for the past 8 years, had to make Zyzz proud.
Gym feels good when I'm there, but it has become hard to find motivation because I have achieved the body that I wanted before I started working out.
Now, what motivates me is girls, but like this video points out I have zero social skills when it comes to girls.
I only go to the gym now because I know girls I am interested in will be there, and I tell myself "Maybe this time I will talk to her"..
Then I go home and feel like shit when I'm done cause of course I didn't talk to her.
But then I make myself feel better by flexing in the mirror "At least I look good" :)

I used to workout every day for 2.5 years, from 2016 to 2019, it was a sweet time. I lived on a low budget, but I was happy. It's not that bad being detached from society, you have small talks with gym bros every day, they recognize your gainz, you aren't obsessed with tinder, endorphins are in their highest levels to relieve muscular pain. You are literally happy because trees are growing or the sun exists.

I wish I could give this comment a thousand likes. There’s nothing wrong with being detached from society. For some of us societal expectations (like read books, self improvements, dream careers etc) ramp up our anxiety. While we are trying to achieve all these self improvement bs, we are not even sure we will have a safe 🌍 to inhabit or leave for future generations. Spare me the self improvement bs plz. There are other things like nature that are bigger than any one human self improvement. Yes, I do distance or detach from society bs every now & again. Call me whatever “cel” u want to call. Working out may be the only escape I have found worth while and may not be interested in the other stuff normal humans are expected to accomplish. The one thing I know is I’m happy with who I am and whom I’m growing to become - a person that genuinely care about others even those those yet unborn. This to me is more satisfying than self improvement in order to satisfy the expectations of society.

      @Shreesha07 ปีที่แล้ว +12

@@bicycles-as-far-as-im-aliv5725 I think learning to not live by the expectations of society is a part of self improvement. However, thinking that you can accomplish everything by yourself, and that you don't need any other people, is narcissistic. The beauty of friendship, love and acceptance is worth chasing IMO. Fitting in with others is a good thing, and you can still be your own person that doesn't do what others expect of you.

Yep, this is literally me. The past 6 months I fell in love with working out, but it’s the only important part of my day . I’ve developed a lot physically and gained a lot of attraction from some of the girls at my gym… however I don’t have the social skills to follow up on any of it. Even with the physical improvements I don’t have any greater self acceptance, maybe even less as I’m constantly critiquing my physique and stature. I love the pump, but I’ve started to hate the gym because I feel like I have to purposefully ignore people to keep my state being in the safe place it already is. It’s very frustrating. I know the only way to get over the wall is to break through it, but if I had to talk to a girl I was attracted too rn I’d probably have a partial panic attack. It’s funny too cuz I don’t look like the kind of person that would. Thanks for the vid. Really trying to change my life currently.

Absolute fact, but it goes even deeper than that, pulling girls and being rich won't give you the fulfillment you seek either, take it from someone who pulls moderately and is financially more responsible than 95% of his circle, the biggest difference ultimately is how you see yourself, and that won't necessarily change through manipulating external factors but may have to be addressed directly. For me, I always expected myself to reach my maximum potential every moment. So rest was only possible when nothing else was possible. I was constantly burning myself out. If I sat at home alone, I'd go insane after a few hours because I'd guilt trip myself for all the good things I am not doing. So I kept socialising and looking for things to work on, not only keeping the cycle alive, but also trying to capitalise on opportunities which were really not worth it, purely to run away from self loathing... Your story may be different, but all self improvement is useless if it does not ultimately result in a positive relationship to yourself.

I’m 26, and this is the first time I’ve come across someone who could articulate that feeling that nagged me in the back of my mind; the feeling that no matter how much harder I pushed myself or how much longer I did it for per day, it just resulted in exhaustion and a depressed life. I’ve even hated the gym at some points, because going did absolutely nothing for the other aspects of my life the way I did it.
Listening to you speak reminds me of times that I’ve had opportunities with people and life in general, and how ill prepared I was for those things because all I ever worked on was my body. If you are under 25 you should be enjoying life with your friends as much you can whether that’s through travel, partying or doing stuff together. You can still take the gym seriously and get good results but not at the expense of missing out on experiences you should be experiencing in your youth. Once you get in to your late 20s and especially early 30s everyone’s life gets way busier because that is when most people start getting married, having young kids, really start to progress in their careers and that’s also when priorities really start changing in life overall. The gym will always be there no matter what point you are at in life.

The key is to train with absolute focus and intensity during your gym session then the moment you’ve finished let go of it and focus on your business and social endeavours.
The problem arises when it becomes an obsession to the point where it’s all you think about and then you’re just losing your entire personality to the gym lifestyle.
As long as you train hard and provide your body with excellent nutrition, you only need to spend 1/2 hours in the day thinking about fitness. The rest of your brain power can be used towards elevation and evolution in other areas ⚡️🧬

Having a good physique is great and I think necessary if you want to look better, but at the end of the day it’s just one aspect of you and there’s more to life than just muscles. Also it’s totally doable to work out 4-6 days a week and still have a busy life with other stuff going on. The gym should really only be 1-2 hours in a day at most and not every day imo.

People work 10 hour days now.
      50 hours a week.
Add an hour or 2 in the gym and there's literally no time to do anything else.
The economy is in such a bad state that most of us guys are going to struggle all our lives.
The only way out is to sacrifice everything, earn as much money as possible and get the fuck out. Invest in a property, put it up for rent and travel the world cheap.

If you go to a commercial or university gym it's actually a great place to also work on your social skills whilst you're working on your body as you're around a bunch of people with a common interest. You can practice talking to people whilst you're in between sets/exercises (and obviously make sure they're also in between sets/exercises too). A friendly smile and eye contact is key. Easy conversational starters I've found are making a polite observation/give a compliment/ask for advice about an exercise someone is doing or gym accessory someone is using, asking people what their training today and what their training routine is, whether they're training for a sport or competition etc. The easiest people to start with are the receptionist, gym instructors/personal trainers as it's their job to ensure customers are satisfied and they'll happily have a chat, most fellow gymbros are also generally up for a chat. Generally when other people see you're a social person they'll be more likely to open up and start a conversation with you too.

Thank you for this video dawg, this was very important for me. When I started my self improvement journey, I was studying Spanish, working out, meditating, reading, journaling, and everything in between. However, 2 and half years later, the only habit that I’ve kept up with is lifting and Spanish every now and then since Spanish is minor in college. The funny thing is, u would think that since I started lifting, I’m a pre-med student in college, and I want to learn a language that the bad habits would stop. Nope. Masturbating is still everyday, going to sleep late is still everyday, eating junk food is still everyday, I still have a social media addiction, and I still play video games too much. This video was a wake up call for me because the gym is the ONLY thing I’ve been consistent in when it comes to improving myself. I’ve had women give me more looks because of my body, but like others, I’ve never capitalized because I still have a lingering fear of rejection, even tho the muscles should have gave me confidence. I need to get back into those good habits I used to consistently do, and you just gained a subscriber from this video. Praise to you and your family❤️

Sir, this video hit the spot. I could potentially define myself as a bit of a gymcel due to the fact I avoid partying and alcohol in order to retain my physical fitness. This of course comes at a major disadvantage; I feel like most encounters with females, as sad as it sounds, come from the partying environment. Or at least, you're less vulnerable talking to people of the opposite sex there. While working out and being somewhat productive (school) isn't really a problem for me, conveying feeling towards women and picking up "chicks" is. My social game isn't even that bad I think, just needs some polishing. Thanks!

Physical fitness is important to maintain a healthy body but if that's the only significant thing you are doing to better yourself than you are a shallow and unproductive person. I went to high school with a few people who are in good shape but are almost 30 now, still working minimum wage jobs, and still living with their parents and they don't seem to see a problem with that lifestyle. Discipline when it comes to physical fitness is good but discipline in life is way more beneficial.

For the past year, I have been getting into working out. Being obsessed with it, though, is a better term to describe my state. It feels really good to work out, feeling as if I have done something positive to change my life. Yes, it is a positive change, since I have been inactive all my life- but working out is just what I have been doing for the last year. I do study at school, but studying, to me, doesn't help me grow as a person. It's what experience in the real world do... Working out made me felt as if I had done something productive and change that past way of life, but in reality, nothing really changed. Maybe you have had the luxury of a lifestyle where you don't get contemptuous looks of rejection or lines like "I have a boyfriend" to blow you off. Maybe you don't understand how many of us can feel disadvantaged over things beyond our control (e.g., height, skin color, facial features). Without the gym lifestyle, we can't even hope for a more fulfilling life because the cold hard truth is that we live in a judgmental and intensely vicious world that rewards certain characteristics over others. It's the only hope for change.

The biggest struggle I wish someone would give me an answer to is Where do I go after not realizing I'm good at anything, In the back of my mind i know there's something I can do, but My circumstances are Keeping me from it, and It looks like I have more than a while to Get me somewhere. I don't want to come out as Asking for pity, or something pathetic like that. But I just feel like I have no idea on what to do. And It has taken a toll on me where i tried to take my own life. I physically, and mentally am on my own with this because I wasn't really good at anything in highschool. And realizing that makes me want to do it again, but I don't want to and take action to better it. I just don't know where to start.

That's a big thing that a lot of us incels have to come to terms with. Most people are good at, at least one thing. Incels are typically untalented, autistic, and awkward, and in general are not good at anything. It's one of the reasons we're incels. It goes to a lot of what Jordan Peterson says. Just find something that you can tolerate. Something that you can imagine yourself doing, that's not going to kill your soul too much, doing, and gives you some work life balance so you can recharge. The hard part about life is that it's a bugged-out game with way too many options, and nothing lights up when you choose the right option.

@@sexygothgorrilla I don't think you need talent to get laid. You just need to be socially normal and look attractive enough. The reason incels are incels is usually due to looks.
