3:43 - Literally "Panem et circenses" (Bread and circuses) for the people, even the ancient romans recognized how humans work and how they should be kept and treated. Give them food and entertainment, and that is enough for majority of the population. They will be happy and "sedated", they won't rise, they can easily be kept under control. Entertainment channels nowadays (Netflix, youtube, tiktok...) are heavily censored and controlled brainwashing machines, disguised as "entertainmenmt". Those channels will prevent you from having your own, critical thoughts, you'll accept whatever you see. So continously eating junk food and consuming the hollow nonsense being poured at you from youtube, tiktok... etc will definetly take a toll on your mind and body.

People act like going to gym can solve mental health. No amount of lifting can be compared to texting my mom telling her I am sad and talking to her.

  • @YungJuve

First off, It's awesome that you've already embarked on the journey of self improvement (including the gym) this early on. I just want to add that lifting weights is a hobby for the vast majority of us, and you should do it because it's fun. Lifting weights and perhaps running seemingly get singled out as the classic self-improvement protocols. I think it has to do with the accessibility and the directness of these approaches. You can get jacked doing any number of other physical activities, but resistance training is just the most straightforward and the most efficient way of going about it. Running is simply one of the most intuitive and feasible means of improving one's cardio. It's no surprise that doctors and even social media influencers will generally recommend these two physical activities to the general population. I don't think people will look at playing basketball or rock climbing through the lenses of the self improvement as much. People will probably do them because they are fun, first and foremost, even though there are tons of great physical and mental benefits to partaking in those sports. And this would apply to any other self-improvement protocols - they are all worth trying out, but you will eventually stick with the ones you truly enjoy doing. They don't need to be the end-all-be-all's nor have some crazy deep meanings associated with them, although I found that a lot of life's lessons can be learned by simply being dedicated to an endeavor for an extended period of time. I've been lifting for 10 years, and that's probably the biggest "meta level" takeaway from my lifting journey. Cheers.

The pride displayed by these groups sound homosexual, and many ridicule them for pride, but they throw stones that should be thrown in reverse. I don't think pride is bad, but trying to hate on others is.

I think you are looking for things to be dissatisfied with in your life. It's unrealistic to be Superman and perfect in every aspect of your life. It's okay to have a stuttering problem. It's okay if you're shorter than people's standards. It's okay to be shy. Exercising and lifting weights is just a consistency that people can trust. if you look at most guys in the gym they are nerds. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a huge nerd and a horrible speaker. The reason he got any attention from girls was because of his status. But if you look at most guys in the gym 90% of them are just nerds trying to better themselves. Which is awesome. Moral of the story is don't be so hard on yourself you've came a long way.

Some gym guys go to the gym to workout and clear their minds. Some gym guys go to the gym to train for a specific event or combat sport. Some gym guys go the gym to look good for other men. In the end, the gym isn’t for hooking up. If you want to , go ahead. Don’t worry about other people because you should focus on yourself
