Ryan Helmer I was sure someone would spin out but they just went right over that shit. I had to bring the bananas from home, I couldn't find any turtles.
How to get kicked out of a go-kart race; 1. Get passed under yellow 2. Get back your rightful position 3. Serve your penalty 4. Explain the situation 5. Be allowed back into the race 6. Serve yet another penalty 7. Get told to get out of the kart I don't understand either
They might not all be pros, but some do have basic knowledge of race techniques. For example, to use brakes when appropriate before turning into a bend/corner & accelerate out of the bend/corner, keeping momentum, and trying not to bog down the motor whenever possible. All those heavy foot racers should note these are race karts are not bumper cars/dodgems, pedal to the metal is not always the fastest. PS: Drifting is not a technique ideally suitable for race kart driving especially with a low power motor.
You need to know alot more than the basics to be the best :) You do need to brake and turn at the same time sometimes to go fast, but this may be beyond the basic knowledge of some :) I'm not a racing instructor, but if you want to read more detailed thoughts on this read through some of my other comments.
What PISSES me off is when they say "no bumping" and shit... Like it's going to happen.. I have to fucking slow down when I'm going in sharp and someone wants to barely come over... Like if they want no bumping, then it's almost impossible to pass people.. Unless they are stupid and stay out the outside the whole time
You want to see the rules for professional karting, I'm in the mini max class for msa and now there are bumpers that drop down if you hit the person in front of you and if you come in with a dropped bumper it's a 10 second penalty... It's really corrupt as someone can bump into you and you can bump into the person in front of you and YOU'D also get the 10 second penalty...
Well if you ever graduate out of karting and go to Formula 1, see how long you keep your job if you bump the car in front. It's not proper behaviour to bump people at all, passing is not excuse.
Michael T Sometimes you can't help it. I've been doing go karting for around 3-4 years and every time I've hit someone is either due to them braking like a dumb fuck in front of me, or someone hitting the back of me and firing me into them..
+Michael T but everyone's a high level driver at that level. They are also trying not to bump. In karts many people don't care so you have to understand the game you're playing. F1 and karts are extremely different. In F1 you also generally have faster and slower cars so slower ones tend to get passed in straights eliminating wheel to wheel racing through corners. In F1 there's no way to legally defend against a faster car on a straight
ra64t - good if they got closed down because they were unfair to people. I agree with the other posted that I would have ignored the black flag and drove to the end. This is not F1 or some major race, you paid for it and also did not do anything wrong. I would have also confronted the ignorant Flack who actually TRIED to pass you under yellow and ask him to burp some word up. If there is anything I hate is people getting over their head. How facking hard is it to see the few meters of corner a person is assigned to ? The corner guy should have saw that you kept your line (sort of as you were slipping and sliding a lot) and an another kart was coming up to pass you. I understand this is a rent-a-kart event and F1 but the same principal applies - no cheating. They did cheat you out of a race. I wish them hell and same treatment as they gave you.
ILDIKO FRENCH The guy that tried to pass me is a good guy and fair racer. He just missed the yellow. I talked to him after the race. It would have been nice if they gave me a credit back for this race.
ra64t Well that's good. Always great to see good sportsmanship among racers :) I'm more of an autocross guy myself, but since my Mustang in down for the count at the moment (a connecting rod decided to exit through my oil pan), I'm thinking about piddling around with a little go-cart racing, just to feed my addiction lol
I am impressed that the flagmen (who hours prior were looking to pick up work on a hub corner) took the race more seriously than you did. Loved that you ran off, leaving the poor chap feeling like he was going to lose his pension! Thanks for cracking me up.
I thought the pit guy was saying like "oh sorry, okay go.... go...GO!" with his hand movements. After I watched it a second time I figured out it was all just a big communication error on top of their mistake!
People don't understand that it's common track courtesy to move over when someone behind you is clearly faster. Instead they box them in the corners because they don't know what they're doing.
You don't know if they are actually faster or if they are just catching up because they have a slipstream. If they are obviously a lot faster than you then yeah, let them pass or else it only hurts both of you. If they are the same speed but just slip streaming then no, you fight that.
+Michael T That's only in a straight line. You know someone's actually faster than you through a corner when they can't draft and take a better line/apex through and come out faster on the other end than you
Don't know about other sports, but this definitely doesn't apply in professional motocross racing. Some people literally make a name for themselves blocking faster riders lol.
+Hamlet telmaH The black flag was for the "pass" at 2:19. Basically I think the race director was caught napping, looked up saw two karts side by side passing the yellow zone, saw me end up ahead a few corners later and incorrectly assumed I was behind before we got to the yellow. All the marshalls do not show the yellow because they are usually "local" meaning you only have to exercise caution and not pass in the section the yellow is displayed, for the rest of the lap you can continue racing. I never figured out what exactly the yellow was for, the spun out kart was on the back section of the track, and there was no incident near the yellow we passed. My best guess is they had to cross the track to assist the spun out kart, although they usually don't need a yellow in another part of the track for that. The track usually ran in the other direction and I don't think they repositioned the flagging stations that well to make them easy to see relative to where you usually look while driving the track, and the flaggers are generally not very experienced in racing.
TedDiniMer yes, I argued after the race but wasn't able to playback the video at the time and they kicked me out. I originally uploaded this video to show the race director. When he watched it he said sorry and admitted it was the wrong call.
At least they admitted their fault. Mistakes can happen, Still it is pretty annoying when you have to retire and, even worse, get kicked out for no reason. A good thing you recorded it, it would be a lot more stressful without prove :/
should change the title to "how to get kicked out of a go kart race for racing", if i was you i would find a new track with people who know what they are doing running it, they black flagged a guy who was overtaken in a yellow flag, this place is a joke
Thanks for making this video, I had no idea how to get kicked out of go kart racing, Ive been asking everywhere and looking for videos for years. Ive always been baffled at the art of getting kicked out from kart racing. But thanks to you all my questioned have been answered and I no longer have to go through life not knowing. Thankyou so much, I feel my life is complete now.
Cut them some slack, it happens. It is up to you to appeal and not enter another event with them, as for refunds, you lost that right when you signed on...
Wow, thanks for being recommended to me in 2021! My last race wasn't exactly me getting black flagged, but, the last race in a series I did years ago before I quit, a driver should have been black flagged and booted for dangerous driving. First lap of the lightweights finals, lights just went out, first/second corner (fast left into long sweeping right...track is Whilton Mill in the UK if anyone here sees it). I was starting second and some kid who clearly didn't like me was 4th (another story I'll cover after this). Just got around the first corner and was inside for the second, going to take first pos, guy behind me purposely drove into the side of me by cutting part of the track and took me out with him. I got it worse too, as i got sent across the track to the outside and lodged into a wall, whereas the guy who shunted me barely spun and continued. No race restart despite it also taking out 6 other people. He didn't even get a warning, and to top it off, my dad who used to take me at the time (this is going years back) was recording the entire thing as he always did for all the races he came to. He got the shunt in full view and perfect angle, it was clear that it was intentional and that he was trying to take me out entirely. After talking to the event organisers and such (sadly the track owners don't have a say in the marshalling when it comes to this event, so even if they wanted to black flag it, they have to comply to the shots being called by the race director), they brushed it off and said "oh well, get over it." Turns out the kids dad is best friends with the guy who runs the series. There had already been numerous complaints about his driving being absolutely reckless and dangerous, and nothing ever done. A few races back at Red Lodge, I got a clean pass on him on a long sweeping left that transitions immediately into a sharp right hairpin. I found that with my kart, it could grip the outside line of the long left and keep up, and I did so to overtake him one time as it set me up for the inside of the right. Never made contact with him and passed cleanly without issue. End of the race he runs up to me and shoves me shouting "don't fucking bump me again" despite the fact I never did, and everyone even saw that I never made contact with him. Anyway, that's a fun story time, I miss kart racing so bad and would love to get back into it. Jodi, its been a few years so I imagine you've grown up now, but still, fuck you. Cunt.
Kam Ford I drift my 6.5 HP easy? but I'd say these are closer to 4-5 HP and they're probly old and worn out but yea you lose a lot of time slinging the back end around so much which isn't easy to control in those karts and as he mentioned this was his first time racing on the flipped track so I'm betting he did way better his next couple times around.
ra64t I've driven a few carts, and they all seem to want to get really assy if you trail brake. Bad if you're not expecting it, but if you can get it right, it helps the kart rotate through the corner. Just wondering if these karts react the same way
total bullshit. Same happened to me where a guy passed me then immediately slammed his brakes and I got penalized. I wanna go to a private track so bad to get away from the bull shit. Great run bro
I was in Bowling Green , Kentucky for the ZR1 Gathering one year. We went to the local go cart track for some fun. After a turn on the track I was sitting stopped waiting to get out of the cart. This mature older woman comes up behind me and hits me. She said oh sorry. Within hours of that I had severe headaches and it lasted for about a week and a half. I went to two Drs had to get an MRI missed 3 days of work . She gave me a very bad whiplash and probably a concussion. I was so mad I wish I could have gotten ahold of her. I have not been carting since then.
Love this video. Highlights a lot of inconsistent marshalling which we all have to put up with. You should try less aggression with steering input to reduce slide/loss of traction. Your times will only improve that way. Keep up with the content
There was a race track in Mexico City owned by Adrian Fernandez and the track was designed in such a way that you had to powerslide in all the bends. There was one in wich you didn't need to steer at all, you just stepped on the brake and the kart would veer into the bend on it's own, you just had to time it right so that you could brake really late and still get the kart angled at the apex so you could step on the gas. The guy who taught there could make that bend with the hands off the wheel...the race track is closed now but I learned a lot there. When I went to regular tracks the outside of the bends was my bitch. Now I race on my road bike but what I learned about grip and cornering in karting I use on the road bike, it makes all the difference.
This video got everything a youtuber can wish; speed, screeching tires, go carts, bad judges, Brandon C and skyler cox. If Brandon C and skyler cox where on that track instead of ra64t, the entire race would end up in a big mushroom cloud, with obscenities and body parts pouring out from its center. I like this video tho, and will for sure watch some more! :)
So where was the unsportsmanlike behaviour? These karts are slower than an old lady driving the worst that could happen is a spin... Black flag at a commercial karting place... Lol what a joke
+Kirito1510 They where running the inverted track...it was usually ran the other directions...guys took their league racing super serious out there...sadly the place closed up last year and has not relocated ....it was expensive but fun
those karts are running 4 strokes, probably 9 hp. 2 strokes make WAY too much power for inexperienced people, they cost at least 3 grand and if not properly tuned will blow up . the best 2 stoke (rotax) only last for 50 hours. 2 strokes require CONSTANT monitoring. very few concession tracks have the resources to run 2 strokes
TheGU1T4RFR3AK In my city in caracal in Romania we have a place where you can teach music it painting stranger languages dancing and cart racing and we have a cart that go like crazy I don't know the top speed but I point at 55 'cuz it get a lot of power at high rpm. I've seen a 80k writed on the box that's covering the engine, but I don't if it have 80cc or how many and the teacher don't know too.
+AwesomeDude14 don't wanna agree with them or anything but the worst level of driving ive seen has been displayed by people from china... that was a 'fun' practice session
You didn't miss the flags cos u put ur hand up. You should have gone in straight away and wait for them to tell u to go back out. Not ask them and go before they answer.
I remember racing at SPK a couple of years ago during a 2 hour endurance race and I got spun from the rear (pit maneuver) and ended up getting a flag. I had the fastest lap time of the event, but my team came in like 5th due to the "infraction."
It's best to show the black flag on the start/finish straight and indicated the driver's number if possible. Flags here waved poorly, especially the "wave yellow flag". I also missed it on the first view. Nice comments in the video.
i have a great time at speeders... then again I'm actually a good racer so there is that not to be rude but i know alot of people who dont have a good time there and its because they suck lol
Unfortunate, just bloody unfortunate. I'm so sorry you got called out for the damn mistake made by the marshalls. Great video though. I hope they stop sleeping and you can get back to karting!
So, a couple of questions and comments: 1) It's not your job to police other people passing on yellow. If you had just let the moron pass you, *he* would have gotten flagged and you'd still be racing. 2) It's a (common) sin to get so focused on your current duel that you miss flaggers that much. You should know where all of the flaggers are, and you should be glancing at every one as you pass. Your order of priorities, when racing, should be: A) Don't put anybody in any unnecessary danger, B) Be aware of (and heed) what the flaggers are signaling (see priority A), C) Pass other racers and don't get passed. 3) You can acknowledge a black flag not just by a hand-signal, but by actually *discontinuing "racing"*. Slow down, drive the outsides of the turns... basically, make like you're under yellow or have engine trouble. This signals to the track marshals that compliance with them is a bigger priority to you than your race position (see comment #2). Basically, the same as you'd do if you had a cop trying to pull you over on the street. 4) Make *sure* that you're cleared to leave the penalty area. Don't be flooring the gas while asking "So, I'm free to go, then?". Again, like you'd behave if a cop had pulled you over. 5) With how aggressively you kept racing after realizing you'd been black'd and how anxious you were to get out of the penalty area, you seemed *really* concerned with your race position. *How* much was the victory purse in this race, again?
you make some good points. I'll disagree with #5, if you watch closely I don't think I was being aggressive after I realized I'd been blacked, I did not defend my position and even let someone by. I was trying to confirm for sure that the black flag was for me. I did try to leave the pits asap, but that was just being a racer and not wanting to finish the race and not give up, I was already well out of contention at this point. #4, In my mind he did clear me then I started to pull away, then they changed their mind and he started waving me to stop. If you watch closely I think you'd at least see where I'm coming from. #1 I understand what you mean and agree this would be the model way to act. But in reality many infractions aren't called, and if you always just let people by instead of taking what's yours your performance will suffer. I believe most racers would have done what I did in this context. #2 As I've said in other comments I did get caught up in the race and it's my fault for missing flags. #3 It is not a requirement to discontinue racing when given a black flag in most forms of racing. In this context I could have been given a stop and go or time hold penalty then allowed back into the race. Slowing down before returning to the pit would have just caused me to lose more time. I just like to race to the end, even when dealt with a major setback like this.
I don't believe #4 although I would admit that he wasn't assertive enough, you just believed in your own 'being right' too much. You didn't make an argument you just said I didn't pass, someone passed me, and then said quietly can I go? and assumed they would just go OK you're right? You can go. I might make the same mistake but clearly from an impartial viewpoint you should have waited for the marshall to clearly communicate.
Problem is: there aren't as many track marshals as karts, so they can't see everything that's happens on the track. Also, it's not his job to make sure that other drivers obey the rules. Sure, the marshals messed up, but I can assure you that *nowhere* in the waiver/agreement he signed before using the track was there a clause which said "If the track marshals miss something, it is your duty and/or prerogative to do their job *for* them". Granted, it's a competitive activity, but I doubt that there was any money to be awarded to the winner, so having some knucklehead who doesn't notice what the flagmen are doing (like the poster) pass you isn't going to affect the outcome any tangible way.
For those who keep saying "it's just go karts get over it omgwtfbbq!!!111oneoneeleven", you should know that the higher-level karts can go 150+mph, race on the same tracks as the F1 cars, have been where nearly every F1 driver got their start, and where pro drivers return on a regular basis to hone their skills and reaction times. Regardless of the level of competition, it's still highly competitive. Try it before you knock it!
Just FYI... That little white rubber thing, that looks like its meant to block your nose for swimming, clips into the base of the gopro to stop that annoying clicking sound, you're welcome.
+David Phillips I don't know what you mean, these go karts do not have "automatic" transmissions, they have a single gear and a centrifugal clutch like most karts and similar to most top levels of karting in the world, like KF1,KF2, TAG, ROTAX etc.
ra64t I'm used to 150cc shifter carts. I didn't know they had these automatics. I saw that the clutch lever and shifter were missing and I thought something was off, but I guess these are direct drive then? It makes sense now, the front wheels on a pro-shift are wider than the rear tires on the go karts in this video, so I guess these little ones are for people just getting into karting. Do these have adjustable sway? How have I never seen these little things, are they old or niche?
+David Phillips Cool. I've never seen a 150cc shifter, what engine do you run? Most shifters are 125cc, like stock honda, kz2. These karts aren't "automatics", they don't have transmissions like I said. They are not direct drive either, because as I said above they have a clutch, but I guess you could consider it close to direct drive. Interestingly, the wheels on the karts in this video are the same size as a shifter, 4.5 inch in front, 7.1 inch in rear. The typical tires you run on a shifter are just way, way softer! I've never heard of anything on a kart referred to as "sway" like a "sway bar" a car would have because a kart doesn't have suspension. These karts are rentals so nothing is adjustable. Many karts like the one I have myself (that you'll see in some of my other videos) do have what are typically called "torsion" bars that are similar to a sway bar on a car and are removable and/or adjustable to tune handling.
ra64t 150cc gy6, rhomboid style suspension with very limited travel, about 2 inches, ancient Goodyear 6.5 fronts, and 8.3 rear no name Chinese slicks. since it looks like an old power buggy, I want to get a cage for it, but I have no idea how to weld. I need new tires that aren't rotted and match as well. I don't know the first thing about it, so my friend is supposed to help me get it running again, but we can't find a name or year for it, but I think it's older than me, or just crudely put together as it has paint on top of old paint. It looks cool, but I want it to run again. I should have learned about them before purchasing a relic.
yeawh and i mean thats the point it is an extereme sport im not competitive but seriously it gets crazy once your on a track im very aggresive but its always best to respect the other drivers as well i mean you wouldnt want someone spining you out
Blind judge, probably. Blind driver, absolutely if you miss so many flags. I understand you do not agree with the decision of the judge, but ignoring so many flags is disobeying the rules and you get kicked of the track.
@@jackpotsvr 1. He was black flagged because the judge thought he passed on a yellow flag (the footage clearly shows he didn't, rather someone tried to pass him and he was just trying to get his position back) 2. The track was running the other way so it's possible the flagging stations weren't positioned in an easy to see way, making it easy to well....miss flags.
Summit Point Kart was undoubtedly the shittiest karting experience I ever had. I didn't even finish my 3rd race, I got black flagged for something absolutely bullshit, I don't even remember what it was. They were black flag happy, but didn't even have a blue flag. 90% of the time I was stuck behind slow people that I couldn't get by cleanly because there was water all over the track that had built up in their tires and you could either go slow or spin, which, a clean spin in the middle of nowhere resulted in a black flag. It was horrid and I think they went out of business, and I'm happy for that. I had a groupon to do it, and I actually got a refund from them. Worst experience ever, it was two years ago and I still get angry just thinking about it. I was there with 3 friends and all three of us are veterans of actual goddamn HPDEs, but we couldn't manage to get around their shitty go kart track without being black flagged, meanwhile all the "marshals" were busy chatting it up in the pits the whole race. One of my friends got so fed up he just stopped right in the middle of the track and left. Seriously, if they ever open again, I'll be the first to tell everyone to not go there.
Just a hint for the GoPro. That little white rubber horseshoe thing is for you to jam into the mount so you don't get the constant 'clicking' you have in this video from the mount moving around.
Well...as a former track marshall..I can honestly say they goofed. That being said, you did leave the pits as the grid guy was trying to talk to ya. But, they never should have black flagged you in the first place.
These are rentals and a league race would cost about $50-80 for 3-4 heats of racing. For your own kart like what I am racing in some other videos, depending on the class, engine you choose, a used kart to start with probably 2-5k. Your driver gear (suit, helmet, gloves, shoes etc) on a budget I would say starting at around $500 and you could spend alot more. If you're interested in a video about this thumbs up, I can post one sometime.
Blame the track marshals for napping on the job, plus wearing clothes that make seeing the flags difficult. I've volunteered to marshal a few event's at the local road course (motorcycle, car and kart racing) and the track requires Marshals to wear light colored clothing. These guys should be the same, if they are just volunteers then the track/event hosts should offer light colored coveralls. If they aren't doing so by now then I'd recommend that you make the suggestion as, not being able to see flag's or the marshals is a safety concern
why? you can't carry a video camera on yourself so that there are no discrepancies? What's the reason not to allow it? And here I thought people care for the truth and fairness is what we look for in sports? Clearly all the rules don't show that.
This reminds me of way back when at Action Park on similar go-carts. I was getting frustrated by the tuning down of the engine (via: throttle restricter) that I would reach my hand back and pull the throttle open all the way. Well that solved my lack of power when I would jump ahead of the other carts. Of course the throttle linkage was near the muffler so I got burned a bit!! Anyway the guys at the track flagged me to leave so that certainly sucked. But it was fun while it lasted....boooyaaaa!!!! Lol
I lost a championship in a way similar to this and ragequit racing. The sporting experience is ruined by crap officials. Also the reason I quit watching many pro sports. The sporting element is lost.
Sees yellow flag a mile away.. Misses 5 black flags when the dudes are right next to you, pointing at you, and making it blatantly obvious. Hahaha!! Selective sight perhaps?
+bliglum I actually was missing the black flags at the video. The flag system is simply a thing from the past. The company should have invested in a headset system.
I'm not the fastest, I could do better. But if you think you can drive these karts on this track without tire squeal, it makes you sound really clueless.
Can I go? **Clearly not!! With hand signals and chasing to confirm!!** Goes anyway.. This guy needs to acknowledge his stupidity. What next? Bowl over a child crossing a road and say 'well I didnt see them'.. I worry that people like him have no awareness of their surroundings when they drive.
Tzeentch Even were that were true, rejecting instructions like that will not help your case even if you were not at fault, because It makes you look bad. If this guy is serious about Go-Karting and racing in general, then stopping to listen to instructions for just one race is unlikely to threaten his ambitions at all.
1. How can people miss the Black Flags for so long? 2. What a bad positioning of the Marshals XD 3. You ignored the Black Flags and then even kept racing after the Marshals pulled you out?...
I noticed this too..... They warned him like 4 times on the track and he still kept driving. It's VERY NOTICEABLE. It's no wonder they pulled him out of the kart. As for the yellow flag in the first place as to why how all of this started, WAS BULLSHIT. Y'ALL NEED TO GO TO FULL THROTTLE IN CINCINNATI, OH!!!!! That go karting place is AMAZING!!!! There are LOTS of videos on the races and their flag system is pretty 😎. Anywho.
While I'm watching this, I'm racing it in my head, and that tire barrier at :32 is a big WTF. It completely kills the racing line and to me, takes away the next 2 passing zones.
+Momma's Muffins you sire, are an ignorant. Anyway, he paid for it, didn't he? Besides, what of a bad taste knowing that they did that to you. Aside from this guy, I would have been furious for such an incompetence from the guys at the GoKarts.
Not to be an a-hole or anything but these karts are recreational karts, not actual racing karts. You can tell by the bumpers on them and the fact that they slip and slide like they do. Plus the people driving don't actually own those karts. Other than that, it was BS that YOU were black flagged.
I got the black flag for throwing banana peels behind me.
+Social Sketch ahahahhahaha
lol u thought it was Mario kart?
Ryan Helmer I was sure someone would spin out but they just went right over that shit. I had to bring the bananas from home, I couldn't find any turtles.
Any bombs? That would make it fun.
+Social Sketch i got banned from the track for eating mushrooms while racing, was an experience though.
How to get kicked out of a go-kart race;
1. Get passed under yellow
2. Get back your rightful position
3. Serve your penalty
4. Explain the situation
5. Be allowed back into the race
6. Serve yet another penalty
7. Get told to get out of the kart

You need to know alot more than the basics to be the best :) You do need to brake and turn at the same time sometimes to go fast, but this may be beyond the basic knowledge of some :) I'm not a racing instructor, but if you want to read more detailed thoughts on this read through some of my other comments.
Alfredo Trillo I try not to judge, but I you think you know everything already you will never be fast in racing. have a nice day :)

+Michael T says the Profesional race car driver...
Any way you could show the marshals your video footage afterwards to prove you didn't break any rules?
Seems to me like a free race is in order......
I did a few days later and he said sorry wrong call. No free race though. The place is no longer operating.
ra64t
Well poopy on them.
ra64t - good if they got closed down because they were unfair to people.
It would have been nice if they gave me a credit back for this race.
ra64t
Well that's good. Always great to see good sportsmanship among racers :)
I'm more of an autocross guy myself, but since my Mustang in down for the count at the moment (a connecting rod decided to exit through my oil pan), I'm thinking about piddling around with a little go-cart racing, just to feed my addiction lol
why you didnt showed them the video from your gopro? so you could get an apoligy and maybe a free run next time
+Eren Alkan I did show them it, in fact that's why I originally posted the video. I got an apoligy but no free race
Sucks dude they cut out YOUR time that you payed for and you still get punished for it... smh.
I'd never go back there if i were you. Fuck that place if they're that big of asshats.
you just got yourself a free ticket to YGS
Bergen Nicholson and Everyone in this comment.
He commented on another message and it said the place went under
I am impressed that the flagmen (who hours prior were looking to pick up work on a hub corner) took the race more seriously than you did. Loved that you ran off, leaving the poor chap feeling like he was going to lose his pension! Thanks for cracking me up.
I thought the pit guy was saying like "oh sorry, okay go.... go...GO!" with his hand movements. After I watched it a second time I figured out it was all just a big communication error on top of their mistake!
i actually thought that once and actually went and got banned aha
What is it about those Gopro camera's that make me want to scratch out my eardrums with a rusty nail?!?
the mics bash against the plastic housing, it's a horrible design flaw.
Salad fingers
its a kinda cool sound tho, really easy to recognzie a gopro by it haha
I know technology is scary, life was better in the 70s. Wasn't it?
Camera rattling inside the protective hard transparent plastic shell, I am guessing.
this flag system sucks.. they should just invest in headsets.
+Weulf Or like every other go kart track has different colored lights flashing.
Ryan rosenberg I've never even been to one sadly. nothing like that around me.
Weulf Aww man you need to find one then it´s really really funny but kinda expensive but totally worth it.
well thats the system thr FIA uses... you're just a shitty driver
+quachimba Lol all you do is go around calling people names and trying to correct them.
+something1random23 So sad. But true
Why is this sad? And why should I let someone faster pass? its RACING. If someone is faster than me it is his job to find a way to pass me
"how to get kicked out a go kart race"
me: oh this looks interesting
*7 minutes of raw uncut footage for an anticlimactic ending -_-*
I'm glad he didn't get a refund for his run because I'm sure as hell not going to get a refund for watching this
+Hamlet telmaH The black flag was for the "pass" at 2:19.
The track usually ran in the other direction and I don't think they repositioned the flagging stations that well to make them easy to see relative to where you usually look while driving the track, and the flaggers are generally not very experienced in racing.
ra64t you actually got the black flag for not finishing the penalty.
+Wais Kuba Wrong, try again. He was black flagged on a bs call and after seeing the evidence the marshal said he made the wrong call.
ra64t I'm just interested, but have you shown your video to those marshalls at the pits? If yes, what did they say to this incident?
TedDiniMer yes, I argued after the race but wasn't able to playback the video at the time and they kicked me out. I originally uploaded this video to show the race director. When he watched it he said sorry and admitted it was the wrong call.
At least they admitted their fault. Mistakes can happen, Still it is pretty annoying when you have to retire and, even worse, get kicked out for no reason. A good thing you recorded it, it would be a lot more stressful without prove :/
should change the title to "how to get kicked out of a go kart race for racing", if i was you i would find a new track with people who know what they are doing running it, they black flagged a guy who was overtaken in a yellow flag, this place is a joke
this place isnt even in buisness anymore
@@NickyD Good.
Would have pissed on a cart and jumped over a fence. That's how much disrespect i give this place
Thankyou so much, I feel my life is complete now.
getting kicked out is the simple formula of doing somthing dangerous or that damages kart
I hope you showed them the video after, you did nothing wrong...
I hope you showed them the film and they gave you a 2nd free race. That was some bullshit.
or a full refund
Cunt.
You can't drift something with like 12 horsepower so back off into corners and carry your momentum
Kam Ford you don't have a lot of grip so you have to slide these karts more than most people think.
+ra64t what engines are on these things?
ShortLifeProductions honda gx390
ra64t I've driven a few carts, and they all seem to want to get really assy if you trail brake.

+SuburbAllied you are smart!

Damn, you're an aggressive driver! All that tire screeching and power sliding, sheesh!
So where was the unsportsmanlike behaviour? These karts are slower than an old lady driving the worst that could happen is a spin... Black flag at a commercial karting place... Lol what a joke
+TheGU1T4RFR3AK those karts go like 40+
+Kirito1510 They where running the inverted track...it was usually ran the other directions...guys took their league racing super serious out there...sadly the place closed up last year and has not relocated ....it was expensive but fun
those karts are running 4 strokes, probably 9 hp.
Great comment.
TheGU1T4RFR3AK In my city in caracal in Romania we have a place where you can teach music it painting stranger languages dancing and cart racing and we have a cart that go like crazy I don't know the top speed but I point at 55 'cuz it get a lot of power at high rpm. I've seen a 80k writed on the box that's covering the engine, but I don't if it have 80cc or how many and the teacher don't know too.
officials noticed he was asian before the race, thought it was a good idea to pull him out early. case closed.
+Luke Tort Too much truth.
yup
Wow you guys deserve to go to hell
+AwesomeDude14 don't wanna agree with them or anything but the worst level of driving ive seen has been displayed by people from china... that was a 'fun' practice session
+SpeedingViper if u want to see even worse driving than China look a Russia
You didn't miss the flags cos u put ur hand up. You should have gone in straight away and wait for them to tell u to go back out. Not ask them and go before they answer.
You know what you're talking about whereas 95% of the person agreeing with this guy clearly don't. Such a delusional lot
He missed them because he didn't do anything worthy of being black flagged.
+Georgi Popchev Waved yellow is a full course caution while a furled yellow is a local caution, usually limited to one corner.
The guys are stupid you pay for driving and then you have to go
i have a great time at speeders... then again I'm actually a good racer so there is that not to be rude but i know alot of people who dont have a good time there and its because they suck lol
I once flipped off one of the track officials.
OMG YOU ARE SATAN

Ooooohh REBEL
Unfortunate, just bloody unfortunate. I'm so sorry you got called out for the damn mistake made by the marshalls. Great video though. I hope they stop sleeping and you can get back to karting!
Seeing these ''very close to the wall drifts'' it jus satisfies me so much almost hypnotizing.
So, a couple of questions and comments:
1) It's not your job to police other people passing on yellow.
I was halfway typing trough what this guy said and then i saw the comment so +1 for you
you make some good points.
Behave how you would when a Terrorist Police pull you over? Ya, NO! Just let them race, you want to get around me, then get around me.
YA but this isn't fucking higher level go karting now is it.

its more than just sliding..
Never in my lifetime seen so poorly placed flags on a race track!
Just FYI... That little white rubber thing, that looks like its meant to block your nose for swimming, clips into the base of the gopro to stop that annoying clicking sound, you're welcome.
The old gopro mounts didn't come with that white rubber. I do use it on my newer videos, although it still vibrates somewhat.

So did you show them this video then ask for a refund for blaming you?
this isn’t a public go karting track these are league races could you not tell by the suits or the helmets or the gloves???
@1:50 when the black cart spun out Mario's voice popped in my mind lhh
This is probably really random looking to get in to karting I have done it a couple of times to try it out what would I need to start doing it pro
I think what happened was he saw the guy that tried to pass you get passed by you
Do they have any go-karts for men there, or are they all automatics?
They are not
direct drive either, because as I said above they have a clutch, but I guess you could consider it close to direct drive.
+David Phillips sounds like a neat vehicle, very different from a racing kart though, which has no suspension. Good luck with it!
you seem to drive like me crazyly aggresive but also respectfull of the other drivers!
thanks! that is my goal, to race hard yet always with respect. some times it is a fine line though and it is one of the challenges of racing.
yeawh and i mean thats the point it is an extereme sport im not competitive but seriously it gets crazy once your on a track im very aggresive but its always best to respect the other drivers as well i mean you wouldnt want someone spining you out
Are using a GoPro? My GoPro has that annoying clicking noise in every video. I cannot seem to figure it out.
Yeah, I saw the miscommunication, and more than once, a kart off the circuit.
The layout of that circuit I like, that's about all I like, lol
Just tell them you have the footage... goddammit
nice driving. shame about the blind jugdes :/
thanks!
Blind judge, probably. Blind driver, absolutely if you miss so many flags. I understand you do not agree with the decision of the judge, but ignoring so many flags is disobeying the rules and you get kicked of the track.
@@jackpotsvr
1. He was black flagged because the judge thought he passed on a yellow flag (the footage clearly shows he didn't, rather someone tried to pass him and he was just trying to get his position back)
2. The track was running the other way so it's possible the flagging stations weren't positioned in an easy to see way, making it easy to well....miss flags.
A clear case for Peoples Court
I've learned one thing on this day.
Everyone in the comments who karts, apparently thinks they're a pro driver.
It's karting guys, have some fun.

Just a hint for the GoPro. That little white rubber horseshoe thing is for you to jam into the mount so you don't get the constant 'clicking' you have in this video from the mount moving around.
That clicking sound took me a while to place. It sounds like how the aliens talked in District 9.
866 people didn't read the description
No point in goign back in after a black flag buddy
Even if they don't count the result after that, karting's still fun and I'd want to finish the race I paid for even if I'm not winning anything.

Where is this track looks good fun!
Well...as a former track marshall..I can honestly say they goofed. That being said, you did leave the pits as the grid guy was trying to talk to ya. But, they never should have black flagged you in the first place.
How much does it cost to go buy a kart and get set up with a league pass and all the gear?
i'd also like to know
These are rentals and a league race would cost about $50-80 for 3-4 heats of racing.
Please do, I'm very interested
+Real Kart Racer thumbs up and subscribed. thanks for the info
i d say 4000$ for a 150cc
Still better that F1 2015 marshals
Terrible track marshals!
Man I'm gonna miss this place. SPK was so much fun!
Why didn't you just show him the video that you had recorded man? It would have proved what you said because you didn't pass anyone
he was in the race with a go pro we would of had to be disqualfied anyway if he showed
why? you can't carry a video camera on yourself so that there are no discrepancies? What's the reason not to allow it? And here I thought people care for the truth and fairness is what we look for in sports? Clearly all the rules don't show that.
quachimba
idk
1:04 Deja vu
He Shouldn't have went when they told him not to go.
And he should have seen the black flags, and he should have immediately went to the pits after he saw the black flag instead of going another lap.
It was all just a big miscommunication
To be fair it was really easy to miss the marshals with the black flag as they all literally ran out last second to catch you lol.
Dive Bombing Corners isnt Racing
it all made sense when you took your helmet off
i lold tho
+OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD Asian people are stereotyped as being horrible drivers.
@@woohunter1 And I can't tell you how many times that stereotype comes through hard as fuck. It's just one of life's many truths, that's all
I like how I watched just one karting video and now TH-cam is barraging me the dos and don'ts of karting.
Did you ever expect this video to get 2 million views? Amazing! :)
Definitely not but I"ll take it :)
Sees yellow flag a mile away.. Misses 5 black flags when the dudes are right next to you, pointing at you, and making it blatantly obvious. Hahaha!! Selective sight perhaps?
+bliglum driver wears glasses, maybe the wrong ones.
+R Greenup Green Mist Lenses ;)
+bliglum I actually was missing the black flags at the video. The flag system is simply a thing from the past. The company should have invested in a headset system.
Well you're always looking out for a yellow flag, unless you know you did something wrong you shouldn't be worried about seeing a black flag
+bliglum Yellow IS much easier to see than black. (I would have used italics if I could, so I just use all caps).
The less tire squeal you hear from these donkeys the faster you can hope to go.
unfortunately that is not true all the time, particularly on hard tires.
You're not a fast racer, but maybe I'm missing something.
I'm not the fastest, I could do better. But if you think you can drive these karts on this track without tire squeal, it makes you sound really clueless.
the tires are squealing because they cold slicks on what looks like a really patchy track
u know nothing jon snow
Can I go?
**Clearly not!! With hand signals and chasing to confirm!!**
Goes anyway..
Tzeentch I'm sure it is, but my point stands regardless.
1. How can people miss the Black Flags for so long?
2. What a bad positioning of the Marshals XD
I've never seen someone take go-karting this seriously.
lewis hamilton started in go karting
+Llewellyn Coetzer and basicaly all F1 drivers
Insert coolname yep
+Momma's Muffins you sire, are an ignorant. Anyway, he paid for it, didn't he? Besides, what of a bad taste knowing that they did that to you. Aside from this guy, I would have been furious for such an incompetence from the guys at the GoKarts.

learn to speak a language before you try to ridicule someone with it.
move it along folks. nothing worth your while to see in here. i wasted the 9 minutes. you've been warned to not make the same mistake.
Not to be an a-hole or anything but these karts are recreational karts, not actual racing karts. You can tell by the bumpers on them and the fact that they slip and slide like they do. Plus the people driving don't actually own those karts. Other than that, it was BS that YOU were black flagged.
I love drifting in go karts especially when they're supped up
