      @@DavidWilliams-ef4fh Well first of all hes driving very dangerously, Brake checking and driving opponents into walls. both illegal actions in the entirety of racing almost. Next to that the POV guy was much faster. so if this was just a heat to show whos fastest, the guy in front should be blue flagged. which means you have to let the faster guy through (because its about time and not who finishes ahead) If this was a race he should still be blue flagged the second time he came on track, because the POV guy is lapping him. which means that he drove one or multiple laps more and thus is ahead, so it would be illegal to hold him up. Basically everything that the guy in front did was wrong.
      He took terrible racing lines. Drove dirty, looked more behind him than infront. He slipped in every corner, And on top of that was a sore loser when his little ego found out someones faster than him (which is especially stupid because you learn from people who are faster than you)

If someone a lot quicker comes behind you, dont race them, let them pass. But either way, dont ram them off the road.

I was patiently waiting for an opening to overtake this guy and noticed on one of the hairpins he kept taking it too fast and clipping the wall. So the next lap I overtook him on the inside and went into the racing line and he decided not to brake for the next corner and try to spin me out. He ended up stuck behind my sideways kart anyway and I promptly left him in the dust once we had come to a stop. I had 2 laps of blissful speed with nobody in front until I caught up with last place who wasn't leaving space to overtake. This meant that another 2 laps later, the douchebag caught up with me and just rammed my kart every corner. Until the end of the race when he ran away from me. The track has a hairpin that is wide open going into so ease up on them without hitting them and when they slow to make the turn push them straight and cut back in and make the pass. Usually works pretty good. I stress to everyone that it is for fun and you won't be F1 after the day but some people just don't get it.

    I don't see the big problem here... Apparently you all see things differently. I don't know much about racing, but it seemed to me like he was just preventing the OP from passing him. Is that not what you're supposed to do? Why race if you just let people pass you?
    That being said, I did go Karting once. Just once. I was a teen, so this was more than 20 years ago. There were some karts that allowed two people, for when a parent brought a young kid. I was driving on the track, minding my own business, trying to get ahead of everyone like you're supposed to do in a race... And this kart came up, I'm assuming it's a father and his kid. This father was yelling and swearing at everyone, including me. After dealing with it for a minute, I forced him into the side of the track on a turn and continued on my way. He busted right through the barrier and went about 20 feet off the track, then he got kicked out.
    I don't think I won the race, but that guy was what stuck in my mind and I felt really good about getting him out of there.

      Yeah that’s what I’m saying. It’s like an honor code I believe. Like when you get invaded in dark souls and people expect you not to heal for some reason.
      After they let him back on the track after being black flagged, he was definitely a problem. Intentionally ramming and not just blocking the line. But before that, I don’t see the problem

      Apparently it's time-based so it wasn't like the first driver was winning anything he was stopping the driver with the camera from getting as good of a time as he could get and he was doing it dangerously and being a bad sport you're definitely not supposed to intentionally T-Bone people and RAM them into the wall it's not bumper cars after all it's just kart racing like a lot of people are saying but that's not the point I think it's just flat-out bad sportsmanship and there's actually an element of it being unnecessarily unsafe bottom line guy was a total douche Imo

    • @Xzedopau
      @Xzedopau 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In a real kart racing, you should NEVER block your opponent overtake passage by touching and ramming him to the wall. That will earn you a black flag and in actually fast karts (those one in the videos are just a little faster than the kids one), this can be really dangerous. Type "kart accidents compilation" in TH-cam and you'll understand what I mean.
      When you want to protect your position, you need to do that classy, by preventing overtaking without touching him.

    How come in F1 this would be a legit tactic for a slower driver but not in karting?
    After all if it is serious, it’s about winning. In football if you are a weaker team you park a bus, in racing you try to block the other person from overtaking you…
    …. unless he is behind a lap like in F1 and messes with leaders

    • @lkrnpk
      @lkrnpk ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know much about karting so I guess perhaps it is different in some ways in karting, just that in other racing events you often see slower drivers trying their best to prevent faster guys from overtakibg them and it’s seen as normal, after all everyone fights for the win

    • @davidbresnahan2227
      @davidbresnahan2227 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Putting people into a wall during an overtake attempt in F1 is certainly not a legit tactic. There’s nothing wrong with defending, but once that front bumper is alongside the other kart’s rear bumper you can’t force them off track or into a wall. Passing would be an impossibility if that was allowed. These are relatively tight tracks.

    Being a former dirt track racer, this guy is going to do that to the wrong kart one day. And with slicks on such a slippery track, it's gonna be fun spinning his ass out... If you don't just straight up ram his ass on one of the corners, sudden breaks like that are dangerous and cause injury in less experienced drivers, especially himself.

      This is something I’m wondering about as well because Im unaware if this is a competition of sorts or just driving for fun. If it’s for fun that person was being a complete tool, but if this is a competition of some kind is this like an illegal technique or just poor sportsmanship? Seem like an effective strategy to cheese a win if you can’t do so through driving skill, but at the end of the day some people just play to win.
      Not irl, but I know similar strategies exist in racing games where you slow down on purpose to mess up or block the opponent.

      @dh3913 I don't think it was the constant slowing down and blocking out the ways of passage... it is more so the constant bashing, pit maneuvering and smashing in to other karts. This is typically not allowed at most kart tracks everywhere. Not to mention it can be dangerous and just bad sportsmanship

    • @dh3913

  • @carlchong7592

    The trouble is that he's slowpoking along, overly concerned by blocking, that he never catches up to anyone to make a pass. The opportunity to pass annoying blockers often presents when they want to make a pass. Alternatively, when someone else catches up to pass the pair of you, it'll make an opportunity for them to bump and you get to pass.
