I'm 68 years old and grew up watching the ThunderBirds as a small child thank you for the memorys
Played the "Sunprobe" music (Where Thunderbird pulls away from the sun), over SpaceX's starship re-entry footage last night and it fitted perfectly - Thank you Barry for music that moves the soul and to Gerry for inspiring so many children's imagination over the years !
Thunderbirds Are Go, while it was a commercial flop at the Box Office, it had a huge impact on me growing up. I watched a reshowing of the film in 1992 and it was the perfect film for a young boy to watch with his dad (who is old enough to have watched it in the its original showing in the 1960's). Exciting special effects, perfect score to accompany it and action!
It's impossible to overstate what a priceless gift Barry Gray gave to children of my generation. He brought cinematic magnificence in music to a children's TV show and was part of the talented group of people involved in productions like this who brightened our lives beyond measure. How can anyone repay that?
Making new shows today that reflect the fantastic analog quality of those shows he graced with his scores... backing studios and producers today who demonstrate they are committed to exactly that, whether with $1, $50, or more. Even a kind email encouraging us on. And this, most of all: support music education in public schools. Even a donation of a brasswind found in a pawn shop can make the difference. Keep Barry's name alive... make today's kids aware real music exists

You speak the truth. I saw my first Supermarionation movie just 3 years ago and I thought Oh God - not another stupid PUPPET movie but I watched because there wasn't anything else to watch and 5 minutes later I was ENTHRALLED! The movie was THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO and I was 60 years old...
I come from Germany but I saw it in England London and Great Yarmouth and I love the Soundtrak from Thunderbirts are go go go ;-D

That "Attack Of The Rock Snakes" theme (as the rest of the soundtrack) is just FAB.
Barry Grays music in Gerry Andersons productions, controlled our emotions, wether happy , sad, concerned, worried, his music told you what state of mind to be in for the things that you are watching, very underestimated composer, I love his music, even listening to this, puts images in my mind of the clips, that he wrote them to,,,,, if that makes sense

This cd is a limited edition of 1200
Glad they brought out the Original Score in addition to the studio recordings. Both are well put together, credit the Movies & epitomise the Anderson team's huge catalogue of film. 'Filmed In Supermarionation' premieres this coming Tuesday at the BFI where I expect there'll be at least a mention of how Barry Gray complimented this genre by adding colour & depth to the Century 21 ambience.
Honestly i was so surprised at the completely new score that was the main theme for Thunderbirds Are Go, its a wonderful piece of music, of course Barry Gray delivered, it makes the rocket-construction feel so epic

Look at the trailer to thee 2015 remake, it's not got this...but there's the same trailer with it...stunning difference. All the Anderson series had great theme music.

WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT
The difference is the musical focus. Barry grey puts the meat of the song in the percussion, with some backup from the wind, and uses the strings to flavour the melody. The new soundtracks put the focus on the melody -- the part that everyone knows, but totally forget the percussion, that part that gives it that explosive drive.
It seems the composers of the ITV CGI remake noticed this on some level, and they put some effort into the base, but it lacks the pacing and drive, and the song just lacks that... spur to action that was conveyed by the original theme song.

Here's the thing: I have loved the original shows since the 60s, and ditto for the amazing and wonderful music of Barry's as a part of that. No question. But, that does not mean that I have to limit myself in any way from enjoying and appreciating the work done with the new show, and it's music, as well. Love for such things is not something that one can only have only a small amount of, it can be as much as there is to love in all forms of wonderful art. And, I do enjoy both the new show and it's music (I have the DVDs that are out so far, as well as both soundtrack CDs), as well as everything to do with the old shows and their music. It's not cheating on Gerry or Barry to enjoy the new show and it's music. One can love all of them.

The CD the music was taken from was released in 2014 by La-La Land Records. It also features some Barry Gray music from "Thunderbird 6". Glad you like the mix!

WOW, I've _never_ heard that version of "Zero X" before!, I wish I could find the full track without the crossfade between tracks 1 and 2... :-P
And I love how if you listen to the first few seconds of the very first track, you can tell it takes a few seconds for the drummers to get their shit together and sync up with one-another. XD

Fred - have you thought of putting a Thunderbirds suite drawn from the TV series - there are lots of different themes, music from action sequences, marches, a Parisian piece and hill-billy piece (Jeremiah) etc....

Is it just me or does the section in and around 6 - 9 area resemble music used in Year 1 1999 - I think for Matter of Life and Death. Maybe I have just been listening to too much Gray - which is never a bad thing.

It's a shame that the new show doesn't appear to put as much emphasis on the music... I can't name any of the tracks even though some are quite good.
Its a shame that Hanz Zimmer couldn't live up to the theme either. The best one he made was F.A.B in my opinion...
