I was on cipro & leva for months due to an infection from bone cancer surgery. I also had side effects. I tried telling the Dr at Boston infectious desase Control, and he disagreed. Told me I'm young & in good health so I should be fine, that it's usually older people who have tendon issues & I believed him..I felt like I was 80 yrs old and both my right wrist & both Achilles tendons we're effected. I also took lyrica for nerve damage & had very bad side effects from that..no more of that & other crap pills for me(putting it lightly lol) 4 me...I give all the glory 2 God that I've healed a great deal & still have healing 2 do from both pills..I have been taking probiotic & vitms & supplements 2 heal bcuz I feel my body was robbed of them..one thing that bothered me, is the Drs who try making the patients think their crazy..I'm on a support group on Facebook & feel so bad for others effected by these posions worse then me.

Cipro injured my achilles tendon five years ago. On day five, I woke up from a nap and couldn't walk. It took a full year before I could walk half a mile to the park with my kids, watch them play, and walk back home. By the time I got home, I could barely hobble. Now, five years later, I can walk 3-4 miles before the pain starts. Around that same time (within a couple of weeks), I developed chest pain and a cough for four months. The heel pain and chest pain/cough still comes back periodically if my diet is not great. I have to eat a really good diet with a lot of fresh fruit and veggies to keep it under control. I find feed and purple high antioxidant berries to be especially helpful. I cringe anytime I see someone mention they are taking Cipro or related drug.

I been on cipro so many times in the past few months for infections. I started getting muscle jerks n spasms. Thought something was neurologically wrong so I got an MRI of my head n back that came back fine. Keep having horrible floaters and dry eyes. Keep getting abdominal pains, heart palpitations, muscle pain etc. it's horrible and scary and I'm praying nothing worse happens. I realized it was the cipro after doing research and I will never take that crap again.

I took Cipro about two and a half moths ago and I had major headaches, blurry vision, twitching even on eyelid, and foggy brain and tingly hands.. I immediately started taking supplements and magnesium baths and stopped the medication. I improved about 85% . It took a few weeks to fully recover. I do have numbness in my hands every blue moon when I’m sleeping that last a few seconds.

Been suffering for 5 years now following taking Cipro only found out a month ago when I looked into this following loads of trips to the doctor and consultants and all my tests and there have been loads coming back normal. My life is beginning to get back to normal or more like normal but so shocking to find what this drug can do and how much it must have cost our health services in the UK from tax payers money. Just shocking ! Thanks for the video it was brilliant and glad your now back on track too ❤️

You are so right about doctors- I am 75 going into three years of this, and I will do anything to stay healthy. Three years ago dancing zumba and running kept me going. Now just a really nice walk will do--
Your parting words- I couldn't believe I heard them from one so young...because I have uttered those words to some of the closest people in my life-"I Am a Changed Person"

I´ve been experiencing rare symptoms for about a year... I´ve already been tested for autoimmune diseases but the results say I´m healthy. My symptoms are very similar to people with Psoriatic Arthritis but I don´t have psoriasis...
Some months before my symptoms appeared, I took a two week course of CIPRO and other antibiotic.... the only inmidiate symtom at the time was some malaise...
But five months later..... heart palpitations first.... then tendonitis, random short pains all over my body, lumbar pain, stomach ache, night sweats, depresion, tingling, plantar fasciitis, thumb pain, toe pain, etc
    Maybe I was floxed....
Thank you for your video. It gives me hope again....

One lyme doctor treated with Ciproflaxin and my symptoms increased with additional including the all telling knee snapping...then next lyme doctor when I explained I had problems on Ciproflaxin she insisted on taking Levaquin without a choice of other antibiotic.... I had shoulder problems with continuous infection symptoms. Tactical hallucinations (bugs) tinitus, tremors, sweats, urine pain +++. I just read if you take the generic brands you cannot sue!

I took one dose six months ago. that was enough for me to stop cipro and get another med. Hours later after one dose I felt pain and soreness in my hands and feet. months after I had tingliness throughout my body. However, I do know someone who just took a full dose of cipro, no side effects. this drug is like taking a gamble on the quality of your life. scary scary. listen to your body despite what drs say. I was told to continue it despite my pain. glad I didn't.

I am still trying my best. I have permanent Perihipial Neuropathy, bilateral torn tendons in shoulders knees and ankles. My digestive system was a mess, still trying to heal that. I use Sovereign labs Colostrum LD which really helped me tremendously. Its a bit costly but works. I tried cheaper ones wastebif money. Its almost Ten years since I last took Levequin. I knew nothing about how to slow it down, or what it was doing to my body. Pleaseeee go online to Worldwide Web and look for FLOXIE HOPE, that is where I found so many others who told me how to try to get better and what to avoid. Fluoride is definatly a Bad thing. Do not use it at all. Bottled or filtered Water. Something's will Never go away, but knowing that you can feel better and perhaps stop this poison from doing more harm is very helpful. The FDA just released new Warnings telling Doctors not to prescribe these drugs UNLESS IT IS LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. I have been through so much these past nine plus years that I would Never take any if these poisons again. No matter what. I am hopeful that I can rid my body totally of Levequin. And have better days. Educating yourself is your best defense. I had nothing to help me back in 2007 2008. It was very scary, finally saw something in later part of 2011. About tendon damage. I wish you the best. Feel free to ask anything you may need to know. Its Wayyyy past my bedtime insomnia another side effect. I've taken Cipro a few times and been fine, I've also taken Norfloxacin once and been fine, but I do worry, especially now when knowing about my connective tissue disorder that makes the risks of tendon ruptures even greater so I shouldn't take any floxacin kind of drug- just sadly I happen to NOT be allergic to them...
It's crappy when needing antibiotics because I'm allergic to Penicillin, Erytomycin and Cefadroxil and severely allergic to Sulfa (we're talking pre-anaphylaxis to Sulfa).
I think some of the reasons Cipro is so widely prescribed these days is just partly because of money (just look at how doctors push antidepressants or Gabapentin on patients ALL THE TIME!) but also because of the long term overuse of Penicillin and other weaker kinds of antibiotics so infections have become resistant. Even if it's the patient's first time having a certain kind of infection, the infection may be of a kind resistant to Penicillin. Though with a UTI it's easy enough to test which antibiotic is the best option, there are numerous of options used for UTI's... There when patients are prescribed Cipro without testing resistance, the doctor(s) are probably just lazy or sponsored by Cipro :/

Same story (tingling, muscles and bones pain, long sleeping ...) for me except I suffered from depersonalization too, I wake up a morning in an other world... I recommend this supplement (after read many studies) : magnesium (bioavailable like malate, citrate... Not oxyde) and vitamin e (400 to 1000mg by day) to repair muscle and tendon and stimulate collagen production. N acetylcysteine to promote glutathion, glutathion sublingual, vitamin C, coq10., Try Msm + chondrotine + glucosamine. Vitamins B (with choline and inositol) for brain fog, bacopa and l theanine to boost gaba (eventually glutamine). Fluoroquinolones are a poison because they damage mitochondrial DNA, they do a very important oxidative damage (glutathion is a key) and downregulate gaba receptors (Gaba system has a key role in anxiety but also in the perception of pain) and excite Nmda receptors, quinolone penetrate the blood brain barrier. That's why some people floxed are feeling "good" when they take benzodiazepine. Sorry for my English. On my own experience I insiste on the importance of combo Vitamin E and magnesium for the muscle and joint pain. For me, but I'm not doctor, it's very important to supplement his body with strong antioxydants because the oxidative stress last many months after taking the last pill of Cipro.

Psychiatric events, including paranoia, hallucinations, suicide ideation are all adverse effects of FQs. My mom-in-law had it happen after just 1 pill. I have many of your symptoms including the feeling of bugs crawling all over, buzzing, twitching, so on and so forth, ongoing for 4 yrs now, put an end to lots of activities as I was 66 at the time, stopped me in my tracks and I'm still very limited in what I can do because of all the connective tissue (tendons & ligaments) damage. It's somewhat better, not gone, pain every day in joints, even feet, so I can't jog my 3-7 miles that I was doing prior to Levofloxacin. Your body didn't betray you, the FDA, pharma company, and unfortunately the doctors have.

I should show this video to the last neurologist I spoke to, last week. She said that fluoroquinolones side effects are temporary...well I shouldn"t show her anything actually, since she doesn't really care. That's the most disgusting thing about this whole cipro/FQ madness : doctors. They know nothing and they don't care about you.

Hey man just recently found out that this could be the possibility of my issues since it started 3 months after I was taking cipro for quite a while (symptoms started march 2018). I wasn't having any major issues this year so far (only muscle twitching never stopped), but now I feel like I am back at square one from last year when my symptoms started appearing. I feel like its because I am off work for a few months and mainly spend time at home so I am quite depressed. In your experience did your symptoms seem worse if you were in a bad mental state? How are you today? How long did it take for you to fully recover? Thanks for sharing the video.

    • @WheelzOfFortune
      @WheelzOfFortune  5 ปีที่แล้ว

It took 3 years to fully recover, but I am now going through a relapse because of multiple issues I had over the summer.
I can't really say whether my mental state affected my perception of the symptoms. I'm usually quite positive, so if anything it may have made my symptoms seem less severe than they really were.
Thanks for the comment and good luck with your recovery.

Fluoroquinolone side effects are often delayed and can come on up to two years after the course of the drug. This is well established in the medical literature and by the FDA. It's funny you mention that "if it's a death sentence it wouldn't be prescribed," because both the FDA and the manufacturer of the brand name fluoroquinolones have said "do not use this drug unless it's life threatening and no other antibiotics have worked" because it's too dangerous. These label changes were made after several lawsuits.
If you had a mild reaction you are lucky. Taking fluoroquinolones is playing Russian roulette with disability. The biological mechanisms behind these drugs are horrifying.

While antibiotics may leave your body in 20 hours, if it has caused adverse reactions then it most likely has caused mitochondrial damage (it leaves a molecule adducted to your mitochondria) and that does not reverse.

How long to recover after 3 pills? Any supplementation suggestions

The recovery time is going to be different for everyone. I suggest drinking only water and staying away from sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. Magnesium supplements seemed to help, but I was taking nearly every vitamin/mineral I could think of.

@@WheelzOfFortune do you remember what type/form of magnesium

Initially I was taking Nature's Bounty 500mg, but then I lowered the dose to 250mg. That seemed to work well.

Look up the Symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency
It may be as simple as that but if it’s too prolonged I don’t know the answer if the damage has already been done
Like a point of no return

I was diagnosed as Vitamin D deficient about a year ago, so I'm taking a supplement and actively trying to get more time in the sun. Thanks for the comment.
