I have medical PTSD. I’m an RN and realized last year that for the prior 15 years all my mystery symptoms (just like your list) were due to Cipro. I’d been prescribed it over 5 times. I was crippled. Every day is challenging. I’m just doing the best I can to heal on my own. I’m just glad I didn’t kill myself. I wish everyone suffering healing and peace. NEVER TAKE THIS DRUG CLASS. DOCTORS STOP PRESCRIBING IT!

I was floxed in 2004 and still seeking help. Very few docs seem to get it. So tired of doctors treating us like we are crazy.

I 100% understand how you feel. Doctors sometimes suck and nobody listens.
Pharmaceutical sales reps were actively promoting these quinolones in the late 90's. My friend's doctor's office got a poster advertisement on their wall. And, the doctor prescribed a quinolones drug for my friend, for her respiratory infection. I researched it & also joined an on-line Quinolones forum. Many there told of getting depression & Achilles Tendon rupture, among other things, or their kids were getting those things, after taking Cipro & other quinolones. I did not give my friend those quinolones meds!! Instead I called & requested a prescription of penicillin for her, which should've been prescribed to begin with. We don't want elderly seniors to get tendon rupture, nor medically induced depression.
Just finished reading and watching videos of singer Bobby Caldwell and his passing. I was curious about his cause of death, and it mentioned Fluoroquinolone. I looked the word up only because I was curious, and wanted to know it's relation to Covid-19. I am so thankful for you sharing this information. R.I.P. Bobby Caldwell...❤

I got Neuropathy in feets, onset of eczema and tinnitus in ears after taking cipro and metro. I year and still no cure. Only when my crp increased to 140
FANTASTIC JOB JONATHAN! Except that you stole my symptom list! Just kidding. I had pretty much everything listed there and a hundred other problems including spontaneous tendon ruptures, a cartilage transplant from a dead child, torn muscles, a hernia, blood clots in my chest and arm, bloated failing veins hacked from 13 entry points so far, collapsed lung, pulmonary edema, COPD, liver and kidney damage, half a dozen bulging discs out of nowhere and on and on. People have absolutely no idea how HORRIFIC getting floxed can be. Keep up the good work, my friend. Hopefully I will see you at an FQ awareness event sometime in the not too distant future. I am so sorry my GP was about to describe FQ ear drops but I knew about this and did not take them. My ears are still not opening up but atleast im not getting more sick. Also I want to save other people from these antibiotics.
That's unbelievable… that's the longest list of symptoms I've seen yet, but they make sense.

Peripheral neuropathy for years after taking Levaquin for three days. Driven to ER by ambulance on day 3 bc of anaphylactic shock, 2009.

Fluoroquinolones can be very dangerous drugs - the side effects, should you be unlucky, are horrendous and they are NOT rare as stated on the insert. Since we don't know why some people get so badly disabled from these antibiotics, I would highly recommend to never take them. This drug has cost me over $25k to date, and I'm still struggling 5 years later. Hell.
Hi I've got tingling and burning which is very mild at the moment this happened 2 months after cipro will there be any chance of it getting better?? Please reply I'm only 15
@@azanfaghiri6205 I'm so very sorry to hear. Every body is different from each other, and that goes for damage as well as the healing process; some are affected not at all or mildly and bounce back. Then there are varying degrees of damage from there. Your advantage is you are young! In my opinion, if you are having side effects this time around, I would highly think of not taking it again (damage is cumulative) and put as an "allergy" on your medical records to ensure you are never given it.
@Rishi Sameer I am so sorry these drugs keep claiming more victims by the minute. With those sort of side effects you should think twice about ever taking them again I'm sure. Cipro ruined my life, I too have had all those side effects, but maybe 3 at some point in the 8 years, floxed 4 times. It was my fourth floxing when I realized what had happened to me. What kills me between all these floxing, I have black box symptoms which doctors should recognize and that would of stopped them from ever floxing me again, but they'll keep saying you're fine because all test results are fine. Also no one ever told me not to take NSAIDs with them, I would take NSAIDs every time because I would have excruciating headaches from the cipro, or the other toxic antibiotic Metronidazole they had me take with it. They are both life destroying antibiotics. The past 3 years have been hell because I was again given metronidazole which made all my floxing symptoms 10 times worse. I think both antibiotics belong in Hell.

When and how much did you take?
One commentator stated that he did not take fluoroquinolone ear drops for an acute ear infection because of concerns of toxicity. Acute ear infections are often caused by pseudomonas which is a gram-negative bacterium which can be dangerous (especially in diabetics). For this usage Fluoroquinolone drops' benefits outweighs their risks. Gram negative bacteria do not respond to many other types of antibiotics and topic applications would be expected to have low blood levels and thus a very low chance of any toxicity. For common upper respiratory infections, including sinusitis, fluoroquinolones should not be a first line drug. However, there are serious infections with certain types of bacteria where the risks taking the drug are much less than the risks of not taking it. In these cases, alternative antibiotics can also have significant risks.

Thank so much for this video I was taking moxifloxacin to treat TB since taking it I been getting all those symptoms. I have been to my neurologist and they can't help me and they don't understand even my family thought I was going mad. I spent days locked away because I couldn't function properly the pain in my head felt like someone is stabbing me in my head, balance issues. GP looks at me puzzled as my MRI scans come back normal. Now I've been told that I'm recieved an infection from an operation from the hospital and they want to put me on ciprofloxacin I've started taking them but now after this video I will stop them because I still haven't gotten over my previous issues with moxifloxacin.Thanks Sir, please can you tell me how you manage your symptoms.
I took bactrim. Still suffering but manage to do very good. Digestive system are bad at time. Exercise doesn't help, lifting heavy weight doesn't, everything. Then I started lifting weight and do 30 minute of walking after every workout. Follow by eating rice and meat with anything sugary juice for drink 1 week went by? I feel normal again!

Ciprofloxiacin nearly killed me! The doctors in the ER finally got me stabilize after 11 hours of working on me. I only took one and I threw that one up. Still had seveo re reation and had to go to the ER. Severe shaking and passing out. So horrible.
I was prescribed 1000mg/day of Cipro for 7 days a few weeks ago for a UTI. I was never informed about the "black box warning" or any of the potential/permanent side effects. I have a long history with severe depression & anxiety and this is all in my file at the doctor's office; years of medications to treat my depression/anxiety and years of paperwork noting all of this. Before Cipro, I was finally at a place in my life where I was feeling energetic, content and well. I spent a lot of time cleansing my gut and healing from the inside out. Unfortunately, I was told Cipro was the only antibiotic that would flush the strain of bacteria causing my UTI. If I could go back in time and never pick up that prescription, I would. My life has been a living hell since...fatigue, depression, anxiety and panic attacks worse than ever before...I didn't think I could feel worse after experiencing years of depression/anxiety. I don't know how to describe the feelings I've had since Cipro, but it is hell. I am constantly living in turmoil and grief and I am having full on panic attacks when I even THINK about having to leave the house. Before, something would trigger a panic attack...but now I am constantly panicked and grieving and I don't know how to function. I wake up and live for the night when I can try to sleep & not think. I truly am only sharing my experience because I hope & pray someone comes across this who is doing their research (like I wish I would've) on this class of antibiotics before taking them. It takes all of me not to make an appointment with my doctor just to bawl in her office and ask her why.

I got rashes and joint pains from Cipro. The rashes went on for months. During the initial days of the course, I got few rashes and didn't made a connection with the drug but during the end course around day 6,7 of the treatment, I got lot of rashes and joint pain. What kind of reaction it could be? any ideas?
You know what's the worst thing? That I can't find practically ANY videos, communities, testimonies in Spanish, one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, which means that people who don't speak English don't know about this. In a few days I'll have a doctor's appointment and I'm still to see what they'll say, if they have any idea of what Cipro has brought to so many thousands of poeople around the world, and especially to me.

No dr wants to talk about it. They all prescribe it. Look at all the videos. They just say Achilles rupture. I find that odd.
Doctors don’t want to acknowledge the dangerous effects of fluoroquinolones probably because they want to continue the gravy train of pharma kickbacks when prescribing these drugs like candy. It’s completely corrupt and criminal.
Thanks for this info on this toxic drug, I have been on and off them for some time and suffering from foot and hand numbness, tingling, peripheral neuropathy. also heart rhythm problems Atrial fibrillation heart pumping 190 min trips to A&E, tinnitus, all since I was on this drug will never take them again, I advice anybody considering them to get a alternative medication.
Same problem with me bro in Nepal. I was given just because my crp was 140 along with metron. After 1 year still I am having problems of peripheral neuropathy, pains and needles in the lower extremities and tinnitus.
Tinnitus for me too. Bbpv. Eschsianntube dysfunction.
Lots of peripheral neuropathy symptoms since I took it in 2009 or 10.
PN subsided but still feel it. Tingles, vibration, heat sensations in foot, legs mainly. An odd toe-string sensation when walking.
How come you never made the connection? After taking 10 cipro my heart rythm was really abnormal. Resting pulse 36. Normal active pule 170. Heart skipping, beating dubble. This went on for months after i stopped.

Bad palpitations and skipped beats.. mitral regurgitation and i have only taken it once!! 😣
I have heart value problems but my dr said it’s mild. Mitrial and tricuspid. Have heart palpitations too but dr said it’s mild.
My PN has never been answered tho. It started after taking Levaquin for 3 days. Went into anaphylactic shock on day 3. Back in 2009 or 2010.

Thanks for the information I believe this has also happened to me when I was prescribed Cipro in 2014 as I have been poorly ever since with exactly the same issues you have been taking about. Especially the pain and itching sensation which now looks like naturopathy. 😢 only just found this out 5 years later when they just prescribed Cipro again and I looked into the drug. Definitely won’t be taking them again !!!!

Monica Colon Tooth ache feeling in my legs , Arms, unusual feelings in my feet like feeling wet and cold. Itching pain in the cartilage at the bottom of my ribs. My wrists swollen up and were very painful. Pain down my groins like aching. Twitching and flicking parts of skin on my body in different places. Really bad IBS . The list goes on! Some of the symptoms have improved but it’s been 5 years since I had Cipro. It’s cost the health service thousands of pounds in investigations and they have come up with nothing and found nothing. It’s a living nightmare and I would never touch any Fluoroquinolone ever again.

Monica Colon Gets better but very slowly it’s been effecting me for 5 years now. I approached my doctor and he says the Cipro is quite safe to use and he doesn’t think it’s anything to do with the Cipro. I don’t believe him !!!

Thank you. I was floxed too. I had a persistent UTI because of low estrogen and was given Cipro. I did not realize the possible side effects at the time. Anyone using HBOT to aid in recovery.
I have permanent nerve damage from taking cipro - no doctors I've talked to are aware of this side effect despite the black box warning. When I told my doctors I had numbness, tingling, and and fasciculations, increasing the more I took the pills, they told me it was nothing to worry about. I still have full body twitches years later.
How long did you take the Cipro for?
Wow I get that too : fasciculations even my lip moves on one side on its own. Not every day but definitely every other month. I get vibrations, hot sensation, tingles, crawling feelings on legs and feet mainly. And a string on my big toe when I walk. Took Levaquin in 2009 or 10 for three days. Day 1 bad headache, hives at night. Day 2 lip tingle. Day 3 in AM everything happened all of a quick sudden had to be taken to ER bc I got: mental confusion, lost voice, legs turned to jelly, lost voice/got hoarse, mental confusion/couldnt talk right/ and pending sense of doom.
I have severe permanent side effects from this antibiotic. I am in constant pain, I have been suffering since 2012. I have been trying natural ways to try and fix my body but as of now, I haven't found much. I would just like my body back to the way it was prior to Levaquin.
I really hope people and I don't get that covid crap while having these symptoms! That would just be so bad., Some days it feels like I'm getting better then the very next day back to the same pains and sickness and stomach problems, it sucks that doctor's don't even know what they are giving people, I hope some doctor takes this one day and realizes what we go though each and every day, all from taking 12 ciprotoxin pills for a dull ache in my stomach that the doctor didn't even test or even new what was wrong with me in the first place

I'm having this now antibiotics caused problems arm shoulder, hip popping behind knee. Side effects were on the antibiotic cepro. Said don't strain could cause detachment from bone
So, how does someone recover from this? Are they forced to wait it out or is there something they could do to expedite the recovery?
Recovery is possible. I suffered a reaction to it sixteen months ago. I have some floaters left from it, but it mostly caused food and chemical sensitivities. Lots of people take supplements, and do this and that. Honestly, time is the biggest factor. Most people get better over time. You need to exercise to induce turnover and keep the body healthy and going. A healthy diet, lots of exercise (within reason) and just pushing through every day is putting a penny in the jar. Eventually, most people get better.
To put things into perspective: people that have been wheelchair-bound have recovered.

Why do they even proscribe this garbage? My doctor wants me to take a second 10 day round of ciprofloxacn 500mg which I won't be doing, considering the consequences. I still feel dizzy and disoriented from the first round but the kicker is that it didn't do a thing to mitigate my foot infection, which has been plaguing me for months now. It sounds like the 'cure' is worse than the illness itself.
It sounds like you may be having an adverse reaction to the medication. Since it is given for an infection, I definitely would seek a second opinion. Infections can be serious.

Putting all the evidence from clinical studies and peer-reviewed journals aside, there is a causal link between fluoroquinolones and their associated multi-symptom adverse events profile. In my case, I was formerly a perfectly fit and healthy 24 year old before I took Cipro, which caused an immediate reaction of extreme tendon pain after only 4 500mg tablets, and the tendinopathy has remained and progressed since then. I also came down with a host of other well-known adverse effects as well - tendon ruptures, muscle wasting, lipoatrophy, vision issues, nerve damage, and other persistent conditions that have remained or progressed in the 6 years since I’ve been floxed. In my case, and I’m sure in the case of many others as well, there simply is no other logical explanation on a balance of probabilities and temporal association. And then when you factor in all the evidence, that just cinches it.
I went through the same deal except after the second dose I couldn't walk still no answers about why diagnosed with cidp started treatment got a little better a year later took it again and couldn't walk again doctors say not the antibiotics wtf

@@Myworldmymind908 not really I was doing ok on ivig but my secondary insurance got too expensive I now have new insurance so I need to get a new doctor what a pain all of this insurance crap to top it all off I found out I am dealing with mental problems thanks to this destroying my nervous system I thought something was off now it makes perfect sense I have been crazy for a long time it started about 6 months after the first dose I am trying to filter my comments it's not easy I am bat shit crazy! I have managed to shut out almost everyone and it all seams like a movie in slow motion? I would like to thank you for your concern! I wish I could explain it to my friends. @@Myworldmymind908 it all started in 2006 so 14 years ivig helps also did a round of steroids b complex plus magnesium and iron and zinc al seem to help get some what better but never cured I was in very bad shape at least I can walk again but my heals hurt do to ruptured tendinitis witch is still a issue my feet hurt like hell I can't stand still for any period of time but walking is not so bad I know that sounds weird but this thing makes no sense to me?

Steroid gave me all those symtems. Triamcinolone and dexamethisone. Still recovering i hope! it also seems a recovery level staying at about 70% .

What is more dangerous - a fluoroquinolone antibiotic or severe bacterial pneumonia that is not reacting to lower class antibiotics? I have been there - I'll take my chances with the antibiotic.
Definitely, you should take the fluoroquinolone. You need to take the safest antibiotic which is effective to treat the infection you have. This advocacy was back in 2018 and I believe Mr. Furman's advocacy in the past had help advanced the 2016 FDA advisements on fluroquinolones. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32390266/
However, in 2018 these antibiotics were commonly used. My recollection is that they comprised about a third of all antibiotics prescribed in Kentucky. The 2020 article quoted above "Fluoroquinolones are routinely overprescribed for uncomplicated urinary tract infection (uUTI), acute sinusitis, and acute bronchitis. " This was a major problem, and these drugs are still overprescribed.
Reason why the FDA TAKES SO LONG on making a Decision is because they have to Get their BIG PHARMA BOSS's Approval on what to do...... What BIG PHARMA says....GOES !! $$
Wrong. Pharma listens to FDA. FDA is the boss. Floroquinolone are given less now and only when other options aren’t better.
Levaquin as 1 extra flourine molecule to pass through the blood brain barrier easily to bad it damages this tissue because it helps protect from infections and brain
