(heard at 4:06) Commentator on Edwards : "from 7th to 2nd? WHOO! I mean what a job!" I would just like to point out here that Jacques Villeneuve was 8th (seen at 2:45) at the same restart and came out 1st. Villeneuve, who had not race for 9 months or so. And yet, it's Edwards who gets praised??? Thanks a lot ESPN, not bias at all.
That Menard incident is a classic example of the hipocrisy Villeneuve recieves at the road courses, I never hear any cries of "wheel hop" any time he goes into the back of the car in front just like every NASCAR regular does (and rightfully so, that's the nature of the series).
Yep.... They dont see that move villeneuve did 2 wide 2 times.... But hey lets call him a douchebag oh wait who is that menard pushing him off oh welp it should be a wheel hop!
@JPSeg Bravo Jacques! Vraiment platte la fin parce que elle était a toi celle la! You right JPSeg, and I hope he can have a full time wheel in NASCAR next year
I've always thought that the mark of a truly great driver, is being able to make a really bad handling car like these do things they simply shouldn't. Jacques showed he has elite skill, although not surprising being an F1 champion. Just didn't know he had that much aggression at the wheel
@@AutoRacingNR2003 ...oh whine, lots of other drivers make moves 'with no regard'....it's because JV is driving that it is suddenly something else........
watch nascar canadian tire series. They run 6 road courses and 7 short track ovals, none of those boring 1.5 mile ovals, the cars are also more nimble and have some of the most exciting racing on the planet, whether it is oval or road course.
It's probably not bias, it's just that the "somebody's" get more attention than the "nobody's", and Villeneuve doesn't seem very big in the US compared to Edwards.
there is skill in both types of car racing, however anyone can drive a nascar car whereas only a few can drive a f1 car well. f1 drivers need better reaction times than nascar drivers, they need to be extreme fit and healthy to handle the G force in the turns. the f1 drivers need to be very brave, the braking distance of a f1 car in comparison to a normal super car is so much less that it take extreme bravery to brake 50meter instead of 100m before a bend going 100mph. f1 is superior
@@shanedavis3418 ....I don't think that he meant purely 'easier'...but they do have a learning curve when you come from a car that is as precise as an F1 car...takes some getting used to the sluggish brakes and steering (by comparison)...however coming from an F1 car I would expect the learning curve to be much shorter...
racing an f1 car is much more difficult tho, and therefore it is the superior sport. these crappy nascar cars can go round corners going 50mph whereas a f1 car can go around that same corner going 100mph.
Least talented? You're aware he's a former world champ, right? Also, watch Carl Edwards dogwalk Schumy during an RoC race and tell me he isn't a worthy adversary for JV or any other F1 champ. Everyone develops specialized skill sets that reflect their resumés and lots of greats from one form of racing end up only average in others. Even something like RoC or SRX doesn't give a perfect comparison because they're specialized in their own ways. By that point in NASCAR the best NASCAR drivers were consistently better on road courses in their cars than the non-NASCAR guys who got hired as fill-in drivers. (Ambrose or Edwards for examples of full-timers, vs. Fellows or Said for guys who mostly fill-in). Fellows and Said are both very skilled with great records in road racing, including with cars a lot more like a stock car than what open-wheel guys are used to.
If he cuts you off and you dump him totally different thing from driving dirty. The fastest man does not win. The man with the most skill on stock cars win.

“Jack Villnoov” 😂
one of the most exciting races i ever watched
These old Nationwide cars made suuuuch good racing

But Andy always made excuses for drivers and never mentioned any type of payback
Super Jacques! He's still got the mojo behind the wheel
you can't learn that kind of aggression from F1. it's just the fact that he'll drive the hell out of the car.
@JPSeg Bravo Jacques! Vraiment platte la fin parce que elle était a toi celle la! You right JPSeg, and I hope he can have a full time wheel in NASCAR next year
@disneyking81 I agree, the road course races are so much better

The guy went the 3 wide, and drove the car with no regard for anyone around him. In short he drives like an 8 year old playing multiplayer on NASCAR 15
@@AutoRacingNR2003 ...oh whine, lots of other drivers make moves 'with no regard'....it's because JV is driving that it is suddenly something else........
Jacques needs a full time ride in NASCAR, he's a beast!
Actually this overtake from Jacques can't be done! Awesome! ;)

Road America is the reason I watch Nascar.
Some of the best racing NASCAR is road courses. Did you see the finish at Watkins Glen?
Road America is my FAVORITE track in any Nascar season.
the best is that he makes it stick lik a train.
villenueve rulz
@JIM1945007
are u a nascar fan ?
jacques 😎
He drives a turismo like a formula LOL
totally agree

Bump and run at Road America
Allen noticed him.
@JPSeg Marketable drivers are the only one's that get prasied now-a-days :/
is he gonna make it stuck??? 00:17 haha FAIL
like watching a watching Usain Bolt race a bunch of 5th graders

If it was easier why didn't Montoya just dominate the sport and why did Edwards beat Jacques here the equipment the had was just as good.

Proper??? He fucking wrecks any one when he gets the chance!! I'd say he's more dirty then proper!!
PvtRiano ur salty
Hes just teaching all these phony Americans how to race!
The least talented F1 driver can beat the best Nascar driver on a road course all day long.

He needs to learn how to hold his line
dumb american contradicting yourself nascar doesnt have that rule formula 1 does
blame yourself not others
Mad Society08 Its not a rule, its a courtesy if you want drivers respect
or what they guna take you out and drive dirty? just race. the fastest man wins simple.

what are you talking about seriously i think youve went of topic..
don't mind seeing NASCAR on a road course but still for me its Formula 1 all the way. Nice racing though
Thank you, some f1 fan I can say hi to without them ripping apart nascar. To you I say I like f1 too
