The first turn of the lap cannot be funnier than this even if they will retry this hundreds of time, it's like synchronized swimming with cars! Talking about the whole last lap, really an eventful one, with fighting until the last corner, unbelievable...

You're thinking of Forza 2 or 3 i believe. But yes Toca was incredible. So underrated. Forza and GT got all the hype and following. Toca was a great game and had potential.
@darbet83 im from australia and i watch this touring car series more then our v8's , its more exciting and very skillfully driven close races, Im pretty sure when they were talking about the cars , I can remember that they weigh just over 1 ton , and had power output of more then 350kw which is about 450hp or more I think, cheers
I was just introduced to it this year and set the DVR to tape every episode. I love this, the new cars bring them much closer to F! cars, they are way better than GT cars and just behind the LMP1 cars of endurance racing. My dream (short of driving one of the modern cars) is to one day purchase a team car from several years back. Would smoke pretty much anything on a local track.
It's not good racing, but dirty games by both manufacturers. Note Ekstrom slowing Schneider down (0:01, it's not normal racing line) and then trying to spin him off (0:18), than Fassler waiting for Aiello (0:36) and pushing him wide on the exit and letting Schneider through. And I think Fassler slowed down at 1:48 to let Schneider get more points.
Still trying to work out why Alesi slowed to finish 3rd at the end, I'm guessing it was either a catastrophic failure of some sort, or trying to help his teammate (Schneider, who finished 2nd) in his championship bid... Also, Alzen was rather fortunate, starting the final lap in 9th and finishing 4th :P
Always dirty manufacturer plays in the renewed DTM. There are effectively only 3 teams and once a driver emerged as title-contender, all the "make-mates" have to play second fiddle. The teams may be called Schnitzer, MTEK, Mücke, HWA, Abt, Pheonix, Rosberg etc. but they just aren't "standalone teams". What the manufacturer commands will be done, no matter if it is sporting or not. There have been races where a title contender qualified poorly and was let through by all his fellow make-drivers, so that is already 6 positions won without a fight, even better - they'll hold up the guys of the other makes for him. One of the reasons why DTM can never be compared to proper sporting series like BTCC or V8 Supercars. I want guys to fight their rivals, their manufacturer-mates and their teammates as hard as possible. Heck, in Supercars even the guys in the absolute topteams bang wheels with eachother.
Jonathan bovier you still glad its died out now its happened and has been turned into another gt3 championship? 🤣 Love gt3 but this is the conplete wrong move for dtm
Agreed, Im just starting to know who is who and who is a threat to win. I love the man-to-man fighting action, makes nascar look like a snooze fest going in circles.
Im From Australia..can someone please tell what kind of engines these cars run and what weights they are?? our touring cars are v8 5000cc ,670hp and 1350kg
I saw some one of the Astra DTM at a hillclimb event - so it is indeed possible to get some of those cars somehow. WIth a rumored pricetag of more than a million dollars for a new car it might be challenging to pay even an old used one. Some nice racing and fighting in DTM 2012 could be seen in Spielberg and Zandvoort. On other Tracks it was either boring or the really good drivers were send into accidents (like on Norisring) early in the race - so they couldn't really show what they've got.
watch the DTM raves on TV now, they are all a brawl, I love this stuff. That wasn't tea, tactics, each team is its own entity regardless of brand similarity and all were going for the win..
Sehe ich genauso. Im Grunde ist das eine Teamdisziplin, Mercedes gegen Audi. Jeder bremst für jeden, die Kollegen blockieren den Gegner. Eine der armseligsten letzten Runden aller Zeiten.
+Matt Bewers They dont slide easy at all. GT spec cars completely lose control after a bit of oversteer. There's enough room to "drift" but if it oversteers a bit too much over that point, you spin out. You don't see F1 cars sliding that much that often because: 1 - with that contact in an F1 race, it'd be a complete mess due to the fact that they're open wheelers, and also; 2 - F1 cars have some of the strongest overall downforces in the world of auto racing. So, assuming rear and front downforces are balanced, the car will very rarely spin out like that or even drift at all.
00:21 OOWW OOWW OOWW OOWW OWWW............. YOWW 😂
i love this dtm racing its so close it reminds me of btcc..absolute brilliance.
Damien Bell oh yes. I remember the two categories back in the days. BTCC and DTM. Best races ever by far!
I used to love watching it and toca

How do you make it work on newer systems like 7 or 10 or 11?
vodafone should really look into doing some advertisements in DTM

@wole4 Was this intentional on Alesi's part?
racing at it's best. If this were F1, nobody would watch any other motorsport at all! Love DTM!
@SchweinsteigerFan31
lol what was he doing here..? did he quit f1 to join touring car championships? Is he retired now?
So like, what was the final finishing order. I figure Alesi won but haven't the first clue about anyone else.
Fassler won

Gee touring cars slide so easy, you'd never get 4 F1 cars sliding together like that!
