Sauron is another example: he is perhaps the mightiest being of his time but he acts according to his principles which revolve around an idea of power that is essential to the character and also why he can’t see his enemies acting completely contrarian to that idea (by trying to destroy the ring). It’d be easy to point out „Hey, why didn’t he always guard the entrance to Mt. Doom just to be sure“ but that’s missing who he is.

The scene in the web happened, and she gave me the glasses to see. It was TERRIFYING in 3D (I was 14/15), so I gave them back to her. Waaay less scary in blurry 2D.
