Homers phobia is a quality episode and I don’t think it was ever intended to be perceived as homophonic but it criticized homer as such and also shows him change into a more accepting person. Not only that John in this episode is the world famous John waters a very openly gay film director who voice acted for the episode so if he was happy being involved with it I think it definitely was made in good faith. Also just a really funny episode.

I dunno. That joke about kids having their money taken by parents because the kid is famous was very likely a shot at some parents with kids in the entertainment industry. That pot episode though? Nah, that was laced with things, it had to be. There's no way medicinal m hits that hard.
