Yo her voice, the story behind the song...brought me to tears. The movie was a good movie, but I had to go back and watch this song again before finishing the movies. Some artists are so good they inspire you...this story and her voice...SHE IS ONE OF THOSE ARTIST! WOW!

Most music these days is more focused on the beat and vocals instead of the raw beauty and emotion of a song and the voice that sings it. This song is beautifully made and her voice made it come to life. It's a masterpiece and if it doesn't win an award for original song or best soundtrack I'ma be mad.

Meanwhile, thousands of people asks if this is Rachel McAdams singing in the movie. I had to read end credits all along to find out all performances by McAdams included Molly Sandén's name. McAdams mentioned her voice was mixed with Sandén, and I suppose this is why McAdams name does appear in the credits and not just Sandén. I wish I could hear McAdams part separately, like Sandén's. End result is amazing and Sandén's contribution is without doubt absolutely decisive.
Mickael S. Vardo McAdams only sings the part in the hotel room at the piano when she is writing the song
"Both singers performed the song and then, 'sent the files to the film mixers and they blended them.' However, the soundtrack for the movie features just Sandén's renditions of the numbers."
Rachel McAdams is not credited on the actual album. There are barely any differences between the songs on the album and to what you hear in the movie, so basically most of what you hear in the movie is Molly as well. Take a look at the description of this video, under "Husavik credits", you can see who is credited.
@@breakingxmyxheart Nah.. In an interview McAdams said the parts where she can't reach with her voice were enhanced by Sanden. So she did sing the songs. And the director asked her to sing for real during shooting to avoid looking fake.
"Rachel McAdams also sang it". Right. If I take Ray Romano's voice, autotune it, and then mix it with Molly Sanden's voice, he will also win Eurovision... twice.

Makes me cry, gives me goosebumps every time, gives me a sense of passions and pride for a hometown that’s not even mine. It’s the most beautiful song/lyrics and the most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard. Hands down best combination. My all time favorite, will listen to it over and over. Love your voice sanden!!

I visited Iceland last year at Easter for the first time. I thought I knew what Iceland is about, but nothing could prepare me for the overwhelming nature. I got emotional every day at least ones. I have travelled the world and have seen many places on this planet, but Iceland left me speechless... even now thinking of it I can feel the emotions - just like with this song!

@@Lijaskurzeme Sometimes, it kinda depends on the market. We have not hunted whales past 2 years now. But it looks like it will stop all together since Iceland cant compete with Japan, but i cant be 100% sure about it :)

Husavik brought a tear to my eyes several times. especially in the end when hitting the high note or in this case. the "speorg note...! Gave me goozebumbs all over." So well done. two thumbs way up for a stirig beautiful performance.. I used to love eurovision song contest, but as I grew older, I found it more and more, Nah.. not me.. and still do, but I like the movie, and it keeps growing on me... Ja ja ding dong is a fun song, really gets the feet going.

Molly has entered and made the top ten finals in Melodifestivalen, Sweden's national selection for their Eurovision entry, several times. After this great vocal performance and the publicity it's bringing her, I'm hoping she enters again next year and wins, so she can take Eurovision by storm as the Swedish representative.

She had the chance to do so 3 times as she competed in the Swedish qualification show "Melodifestivalen" in 2009, 2012 and 2016.

She's actually always been popular in Sweden, even when she tried to qualify for Eurovision in 2009, 2012 and 2016. She was just unlucky that there were better songs than hers in the competition those years. I don't think Molly is interested in joining Melodifestivalen again any time soon unfortunately.
It makes so happy to see Molly doing so well, been following her for a year or so (corona took me an opportunity to see her concert in Oslo at april...) she really has an amazing voice and this is just the start for her, remember the name

I loved the movie and really enjoyed the actors performances, but for those who know who the voice belongs to, it just looks wrong seeing anyone but Molly singing this song. Rachel McAdams did a brilliant job as Sigrit and portrayed the singer seamlessly to the point where you just get into the movie despite knowing its a dub. Excellent editing, especially at the end. 10/10 as far as how impactful a song can be to a movie’s enjoyment factor. Hometown definitely delivered! Understandably, those who have never seen Molly perform will think the opposite as our brains have paired the voice to what we have seen, and also because everyone involved with the movie did such a great job with the acting, editing, and production.
In addition to being a great movie, it has introduced more people to discovering Eurovision and to Molly Sandén’s lovely voice. She sings so many other great songs and am so glad she was chosen for this song.

I am an American and I am ur fan 4 sure, you have an awesome voice. I LOVE ABBA; my fav band of the 1970s and for the rest of my life. I also loved Roxanne in the 1980s. Ur are so swesome and talented. Never knew u existed until the Eurovision Song. I remember when ABBA won it with waterloo in 1974. I was their fan every since. I am ur fan as well. AWESOME!

@@kakkalakkinn don't blame the student, blame the teacher. She didn't obviously learn it by herself. And Icelandic is a nice language but pretty hard for everyone else to pronounce.
kakkalakkinn Swedes learn english in school from a very young age - but not a single word of Icelandic. So it’s not weird at all that her english is better than her icelandic :)

I am obsessed with this Eurovision movie and the music. I’ve watched it 3 times in 2 days and spent hours researching previous entrants and reading about the inspiration for the contest’s featured acts. Molly’s song made my cry, it’s so beautiful and exceptionally well performed. Eric Mjones as Lemtov’s voice was amazing too! The movie is classic Will Farrell comedy, the hamster cage scene had me crying from laughing so hard. It’s been years since I’ve laughed like that, seriously, then to find that the inspiration for the scene was Tick Tock, well that was icing on the cake.
The Song Along at Lemtov’s party featuring past contestants was so much fun! I thought Dan Stevens was exceptional in his performance of Lemtov, as was Rachel McAdams as Sigrit, Pierce Brosnan as Eric and Mikael Persbrandt as Victor. Casting was excellent, so many original actors featured, and the songwriters outdid themselves in capturing the spirit of Eurovision. They wrote some wonderful songs. I just loved this comedy! Molly’s song and her performance could not have been more perfect! 🤗
