      I followed the instruction to replace the foam from the solenoid and the plate and with the same "paper jam in tray 1" error. Then I put double layers to make it thicker but still fail. Any further suggestion mate? Thanks Urey

      @@ureylau Was there any instruction in the video about replacing the foam?

    • @ureylau
      @ureylau 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs Because the foams was worn out and in bad shape so I removed the old foams cleaned up and replaced by a piece with double side adhere tape (with thin layer of foam) then cover small piece of paper on top of the tape. Probably a year ago I fixed another problem (cannot remember the error code) created by the left hand side solenoid by using the same procedure and it worked perferct till now. But this time it did not work on this right hand side solenoid.

    Thank you so much, you rescued my printer - a C1810W - from the scrapyard too. I already had to replace the clock battery and fix the first solenoid this year. Planned obsolescence if I ever saw one - thinly disguised as a measure to reduce clacking noise, I suppose.

    Thank you for this video! I had all but given up and was about to enlist the help of a repair person and probably would have spent on repairs as much as I did when I bought this Express C1860FW almost 9 years ago. This absolutely worked and hopefully I can get at least a few more years out of this printer>

      Nice to hear that people are expanding the lifetime of their printers. Mine broke two days ago and I am planning to repair it today. I just do not want to send it to the landfill, especially since it did a great job until it broke down.

    The gift that keeps on giving. Thank you so much, you have saved yet another printer from the landfill. I also used a small piece of 3m foam tape, worked like a dream.❤

    I want to thank you so much for this. I didn't want to throw the printer out, and this did the trick. I used my Dremel to cut the hole somewhat cleanly. Was about to get the solenoid out and replace the foam with double sided foam tape.

    Thanks, it worked on my printer. I used a dremel instead of the scissors and just used a self adhesive foam pad. But it worked on the first try.

    Another success story here. I had previously fixed the easy to reach solenoid by using a new piece of foam, but since I had to go in for the second one, I applied the super glue treatment to both of them. Easy. No more than an hour for the whole deal. I used a Dremmel tool to slice through the plastic nice and cleanly. It is unbelievable that a major manufacturer would let this crap continue for so long. And so many people will throw them away or spend big $$ to have them fixed. Thank you for posting this. I tried to send you a tip via Paypal, but the link was bad.....

      Well it did work...for about 3 pages, then the same thing. The first 1" or so of the top of the printed page is getting accordioned and jamming. I eyeballed that the solenoid (both actually) are firing. I removed the foam and tried without; same. I added a nice new piece; same. I cleaned the roller mounted on the back door that presses against fuser; same. I emptied the spent toner bin; same. I'm out of patience. Between these issues, the high cost of toner and the miserable WIFI functionality of this printer, I'm about ready to toss it. Seriously considering a Canon ink jet with the mega tank. All I do is occasional printing in a home office. I understand why Samsung sold this business, but I have NO idea why HP bought it other than to prevent a new competitor. ANY suggestion welcome at this point.

    Lifesaver! I have an appointment tomorrow and need to take a load of printed material. But my printer gave the dreaded paper jam error. I just followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. 15 minute job and I'm back in business - thanks a lot!

    You, sir, are a freakin' genius. You helped me solve my problem in the most unexpected way and using the most unusual utensils. I have a clx-4195N and it worked like a charm.

    Thanks for your video. I had to do the same repair to fix the Actuator Error A1-4112 one year previously (as you mentioned in passing in your first video).
    In both cases, I used a small piece of thin double-sided 3M tape to bulk out the pad. To gain access I heated up a stanley knife to melt an access port. A little fiddley but it worked.
    Thanks again.

    worked like a charm - thanks! Also, it's easier to cut the box out of the bottom with a box knife, cuts pretty easily.

    Terry - thank you very much for posting this! I already had to fix the solenoid for the other error code - I was excited to find your video about this fake paper jam - albeit you scared me chopping into the bottom with those snips - 😂😂😂- nonetheless, it worked. I will not share how many times I was screaming "F" words at Samsung - I may have printed 700 sheets total on my C1860FW and already put 400 bucks of toner in it for 2 errors crippling it - I appreciated your commentary about these wanker companies. Anyways, thanks again!
