I saw them live for the first time in a small sports bar North of Dallas a few years ago and I was disappointed how quiet the crowd was. But I think they were just amazed how much he looks and sounds like Stevie Ray and it was kind of eerie.
This is the closest thing to seeing SRV I've come across yet! The drummer and bass player honestly didn't seem right somehow but A++++ for the Guitar playing and singing!
It would have been amazing to see this guy and Randy Hansen put together a Hendrix/SRV show!

His voice is very close to Stevie's. So is his guitar tone. His playing does Stevie justice too. All around, he's the best I've seen at coping SRV.

@@riccardoperretta9583 Yeah, Stevie's tone isn't that hard to get. I just meant this guy basically has all 3 tumblers in place. The voice, the tone, and the playing.
As far as getting Stevie's tone goes, I find as long as you have decent Alnico single coils and a decent tube amp, you're most the way there.
Depending on the amp, I can usually get very close even without a Tube Screamer. On smaller amps, the Tube Scrramer takes away too much bass anyway. The main key to Stevie's tone though is the alnico single coils. That's where the "bell tone" and touch sensitivity comes from. Ceramic pickups, like on Standard Strats and most Squiers , just don't sound the same. Cheers Bro!

@@e-rocworldwide8731 It's called constructive criticism. It's how people who aren't too hung up on themselves improve and grow. And, for the record, he's 100% correct. Regardless of his playing abilities, the bass players stage presence is not at the same level as the other two members. He's obviously trying too hard to be cool and, failing miserably. One of those moments where he doesn't recognize that he should be embarrassed yet others watching are embarrassed on his behalf. And, rightfully so. If he were to realize that and not develop an attitude about it, he could likely fix the issue in short order and fall right in with the greatness of the other members.

John Fair - good review! Someone said if they ever do a movie about SRV that they should get Tommy to play him - I tend to agree. He can do the part that most can't - play the SRV-ish guitar parts FOR REAL! He can always be coached on the stage mannerism's.

I like him, very good imitation of SRV, but he seems to be missing the "UMPH" SRV had. When Stevie played he used his whole energy. Sweated his ass off. Dug into the songs with his teeth. Went gang buster on every song. High energy. No stopping him. No matter what he played. Thisguy is as close as he can be toSRV. If he turned up his energy, you would think he was SRV.
That's because Stevie bled his music - it was his biggest passion, but I think tommy has a fantastic ear, he's super talented and obviously he's a great SRV fan as well and I love this band! Love to see them live 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
John Fair that's it he bled it. Clapton said he channeled it. This chap Tommy is a great SRV imitation, but to call his act a Tribute, it needs the passion and the bleeding. Add a Reese clone would help and build a fire under that drummer.

Eh, his voice sucks, the song is too slow, he doesn't nearly have the pick-hand precision that Stevie did, and generally the band is terrible. But beyond all that, it's a bit weird making a career out of playing someone else's songs and especially tryharding it to the point that you're wearing the same damn clothes Stevie did.
Of course he isn't Peter, but he's trying to pretend to the point that it's weird. It's easy to see that Tommy attempts to use the same mannerism, the same passionate faces while playing, the same clothes, etc. It's beyond just a love for SRV's music and gone to the point of just plain strange, in my opinion. I think the concept of 'cover bands' is quite strange in many ways.
Granted, Tommy is decent at imitation of much of SRV's stuff, including guitar tone. But where he lacks is exactly what made SRV such a guitar god.
I'm not even looking at the bass player I don't care what he's doing this guy's getting down on guitar playing and giving Stevie Ray Vaughan total props and respect
