Tommy is the man. Phenomenally talented but such a humble and nice person.
I had an online guitar lesson with him. He is the coolest and most humble dude ever!! I spent most of the lesson just chatting and asking him questions lol it was awesome.

I was at this guys first show playing for voodoo blue. Crazy talent. The closest thing to SRV we will get ever.
Tommy's love of SRV is one thing but his dedication to knowing and understanding all the nuances of what made SRV playing is what sets him apart from others. Its just cool to watch him do his thing.
Such an awesome video, I’d love to see another one showing his amps and pedals. I’ve been a huge fan of Tommy’s for many years. He’s such a phenomenal talent, and an incredibly hard working musician he deserves a ton of recognition, thank you for doing this video!
When Tommy came out to Nacogdoches, Texas, I got to play Norbert. He was apprehensive to let a kid play it (can’t blame him) but I he let me do it and he told me to keep up the playing. A really great moment for me🎸
He’s super nice. I took lessons from him when I was 13-16 ish and he’d always let me play any of his guitars. Sometimes we’d swap guitars for the lesson. He’s awesome

I think "tribute artists" like Tommy are weird. I get paying respect to fallen guitar heros and musicians, but when hes literally copying and mimicking SRV on stage and off stage even down to his mannerisms... thats a little weird. Hes not even being recognized or making money off of his own music, hes getting paid to pretend to be Stevie. Dont this tribute artists want their own identity when it comes to playing guitar and writing music.

Folks having the licks, tone (almost) from SRV are a dime a dozen-they all impress.Tommy, IMHO, has a kindred connection to the well SRV drew from. Great player, just as important, humble!
Was fortunate enough to see Tommy and company during a visit to Dallas. Amazing player and the show was fantastic. Hopefully I have another chance to see him again when I go back to visit family.

TK is a true gentleman! I’ve known him for years….I’ve taken lessons from him. I can tell ya that whenever I played his SRV copy, it sounded nothing like when he plays it!

They played at a Christmas on the square thing in Wills Point Tx about 6 years ago i guess. It was freezing and there maybe 10 people watching. They played like it was packed audience. After the show he let my then 14 year old hold
#1 and pointed out the little details, talked amps and sound. Got some pictures with him. I'd never heard of them at that point, but I'm a fan for life. Awesome dude, awesome band.
When my son was 4, he was the ultimate natural relic craftsman. I shouldn have let him handle a few more of my strats, but he retired when he was about 8.
My and my son got to meet Tommy at a show in Kemah Texas. Really nice guy took a picture with my kid, who is learning guitar. I am a big fan, And now so is my teenager
Having met and talked with Tommy at several clubs in the Dallas area I can tell you he is a very humble, extremely kind and accessible person as well as one of the best Texas Blues players. It's really hard to not think you are watching Stevie play when Tommy comes to life on his guitar. If you've never seen one of his live shows, do so, you won't be sorry.
It was like I was visiting him again. :) I miss you my brother. Much love.

Tommy is a BEAST! I'm one of those nerds who likes to know what picks and strings he uses (I see he uses the round side of the pick like SRV and so many other blues players). What gauge string and picks please.

Tommy Katona is a great guy, he can certainly play, I really like his ability to sound like his guitar heroes, that is not an easy thing to do, especially when those heroes were probably some of the worlds most talented guitarists.👏🎸

The Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar is when The Relic craze started. Everybody wanted their strat to look like that but they didn't want to wait 30 years.

Damn straight! I’ve made my own strats and a tele with thin laquer finishes so they’ll relic naturally. I’m damn good at relicing but it takes so much time and patience.

Gotta say never seen you play a Gary Moore lick/riff in my life I been both owning big fan (seeing him live far back as Corridors as well as Blues shows) and owned Les Pauls since teenager years!!!! Gotta request.... play some Gary Moore for us all, got no doubts you can do!! Me also huge Thin Lizzy fan I'm old been playing for decades!
