    I love your honesty. Thanks for the video and commentary. You seem like a good country man that loves his family and is willing to tackle projects to save money and learn. Just straight forward with instructions and comments. Good help to me. Don’t change your simple and honest style.

      @@gkbuilding persistence makes successful people. If you love what you do and believe in it, keep doing it. It’s okay to make adjustments along the way, in keeping with your core values and principles. In my life I have worked with many very educated and very intelligent people. Some more so than myself. But here is the key. Learn to outwork, out hustle and never give up. Most will quit when times get tough. Success has a price. But stay true to yourself and your family. This is where strength comes from during difficult times. Good luck.

    Great video and commentary. My kids would be kicking that wood all over the place. Question for you. Why not 2x6's with plywood filler for headers? Single 2x4 sufficient as header?

    • @gkbuilding
      @gkbuilding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depending on where your located and if you have to be inspected then you will have to do a sufficient header that meets Code. Here in Ky buildings don’t have to be inspected. So for cost savings I feel that for this small structure, and with a double top plate that a single 2x4 header is sufficient. But by all means do a double 2x4 header at least if it makes you sleep better at night! (: thanks for the comment!

    Hello. First off thanks for making this video. I've been watching a lot of shed building videos and everyone for the most part besides you just throws 4X4GC boards down on the ground and builds a deck on top. I think the concrete pad is a must. How come you did it this way as opposed to the boards on the ground crap I see everywhere else?

    • @gkbuilding
      @gkbuilding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because concrete lasts a Lifetime! When the wood is rotted you can replace it the concrete will be there! Thanks for the comment!

    hei mate, G'day from Australia, sorry I don't quite catch what you used to seal the bottom timber to concrete.... can you please give me some more precise reference of that white rolled you used under the frame?
    I am planning to building in the same setup and I am a bit confused on what to do....
    thanks

      Thanks for the comment! I don’t care a bit to help anyway I can! Here in the US it’s called Sill Seal foam. It’s a foam like material that acts as a vapor barrier between the bottom plate and concrete! They sell it at our big box stores here in 3.5” or 5.5” wide by 50’ long rolls for 2x6 or 2x4 walls! Hope this helps!

      Including the concrete it took around 5-6 full days work. (8-10hr days) but I did most of it in the evenings after work so that made it more like a 8-10 day project. I would say I could build it again easily in 4 days (8-10hrs per day). Hope this answers your question! Thanks for the comment!
