  • In this video we get the roof sheathing installed and the wall sheathing put up. Which is T1-11 siding. We also get the windows put in and the drip edge, and the tar paper on the roof just before a rain storm! Worked into the dark getting this much done!
    Stay tuned for PART 3!!!!

Great job, I'm building an 8x10 shed right now. My first shed. I don't know how you got your rafters to fit so tightly, mine aren't as perfect down by the birdsmouth cut. Good work on those.
Thank God the price of wood came down but now I'm running out of time to finish. I'm in Wisconsin and snow can come at any time after October.

Hey thanks for the watching and commenting! We used a speed square set on a 5/12 and marked/ cut the rafters!
The key is to get the Birdsmouth tight to the top plate and if they stick up proud of the ridge beam that’s fine! Just as long as there all the same! Hope this helps!

Did you do 8ft walls? Or did you have to cut down to size for the wall sheathing?

    • @gkbuilding

We cut them down to around 89.5” if I remember right.

How high do you set the ridge beam? (What length is the saddle you made for each end?)

All depends on what pitch roof you want. And the size of the structure
