      Not to mention "it came to me in a dream" is the laziest anecdote someone could think up, to explain how he got his ideas. Newton had the apple story, which made sense because Newton understood gravity. Terry doesn't understand the stuff he's saying (and has obviously memorised terminology and buzzwords to impress people with no scientific or mathematical education), and so "it came to me in a dream" is the most "creative" thing his complete and utter genius mind could come up with.

      Bro, I can tell you this… the “scientists” from academic world, from founding system, from the scientific journal etc etc, are right now completely bought from corporate world big pharmas etc etc….
      We are in a point where physicists, mathematicians etc etc, are so bad that they aren’t even able to read a a real scientific work... now it's a world of yes men, bag carriers, suckers and weak thinkers I can assure you this unfortunately….
      The few brilliant minds who are not interested in fame, money, power etc etc, they abandoned the ship and they are now called crazy or considered theorists…
      I am not talking about this ex actor, I don’t know him very well, but they did that even with old Nobel prize winners…
      So my point is that none of the any system’s academic chemist, mathematician, quantum physicist, would never accept a frontal and fair debate with any thinker or allegedly called conspiracy theorist.

    It’s so infuriating that Rogan lets people like Terrance Howard ramble on with nonsense without any push back. Then when he had the genius guy who wrote the book on the Simulation theory he literally attacked him over the most basic concept he was conveying. Even though he’s literally the foremost expert and highly respected and educated. Yet Rogan couldn’t except his most basic premise. So ridiculous

    • @michaelcarrig627
      @michaelcarrig627 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jessecombs5373 This simply isn't true. If you take any course in scientific epistemology or the history of science, you learn that Newton was a religious mystic and that the earliest period of scientific and even pre-scientific development were filled with these sorts magical ideas. There are many thinkers, such as Feyerabend and Kuhn who recognize that both bizarre and challenging ideas and failed or misunderstood scientific theories (lets separate the two, as on the one hand there is an attempt at scientific rigor) are implicit to the development of science; for instance Riemann's theory of manifolds was essential to the development of Einstein's theory of gravitation, despite it being obscure and often rejected in mathematics.
      So science has, by in large, overcome the falsehood that it develops simply by hypothesis and testing, as Karl Popper (the teacher of Feyerabend who was the teacher of Kuhn) argued. Tyson is pretty conventional in this regard and repeats a somewhat archaic concept of scientific epistemology. Nonetheless, what he says is true, that the means of realizing that certain concepts and theories are false (peer review) is effective--though it also often fails.
      But none of this actually speaks to Terrance Howard, who leaps (moving backwards) over the complexity of scientific epistemology directly into the same mysticism that occupied Descartes, Leibniz, and Newton. For his problem isn't simply drawing upon obscure or failed sources, but rather ideas that have been proven theoretically bankrupt and anti-scientific. He longs for a world where numbers are aesthetic and substantial, the idea that math is both deeply explanatory and representational does not sit with his basically aesthetic and mystical view. And, in fact, this would all be fine if people like Joe Rogan or the corrupt leaders of Central African countries wouldn't give him a giant platform to speak. Most people do not have the time or the patience to deal with the history of science, its twists and turns, and why ultimately it is worth trusting (with some massive caveats).
