I love the noisey instrumental passages, the aggressiveness, and the guitar solo. It not the lyrics I like the most, but how they are presented. I also grew up with industrial metal acts like NIN and Marilyn Manson so that sound appeals to me a lot.

did you end up going to the I Disagree tour? i went here in toronto and um NO! i had a horrid time i should NOT have chosen the middle of the pit to stand i knew there would be moshing but not as much as there was. but Poppy was great i just didn’t really enjoy my time while there, i wish i could go back and see BLOODMONEY live again as it’s my favorite song of hers and i pretty much started crying and having a panic attack during that song out of shock, i cry when i’m super overwhelmed or a bit nervous like i’m not scared like “oh my god i’m gonna die” scared i just get overwhelmed and start almost crying but i stopped myself because i tried to enjoy my favorite song.

I love your perception that it's the end of the world. The very beginning is totally like Hotel California! And Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd vibes. Um. And that guitar solo by Chris Greatti is legendary - rock god tier! Then the ending! It weaves four other songs from the album into it for a total of five songs blended together with inspired harmonic skill and depth of emotion creating a hypnotizing experience. I Disagree is there, the "you can be anyone you want to be" part is from Fill the Crown, Concrete comes in and those three lyrics and melodies crescendo into heavenly harmony and we drift quietly into the melody from the end of Anything Like Me. And then... The ding. It isn't an arbitrary ending like just some choice to end the song some way, how 'bout a ding, ok. It's there as the WakeUp sound. In that one bell sound Poppy ends the hypnosis, ends the deep programming running in, under and through her work from day one of "the project." Before the ding, the song lays out everything she wants to say to us, about her inner struggle and wisdom finding her sound and becoming the person she wants to be, which required burning bridges, enduring relentless criticism and comparison to other artists, wanting (and needing) to kill and bury forever her former self and powerfully assert her new, strong, LOUD and quietly contemplative self. She expressed the apocalyptic feeling of that and needing to stay within herself to find her strength, and to let us know it's ok to do this, we can and probably should. The ding! signifies her triumph and readiness to move forward and put out to the world the best of all her brilliance she uncovered in her dark night of the soul. Hi Nate, my three favorites were Concrete,Fill The Crown and Don't Go Outside however with that being said the whole album is just superb and I rate it overall 9/10. I enjoy all of Poppy's music and even the stuff she made before meeting Titanic.
