I couldn’t have found this at a better time, just about to grab 2 of these and they are on special at $699. Thanks a great honest review. 👍🏼 Love ya work . Liked and Subscribed
Aaah, interesting. I load tested my 120X and got 95 Ah and thought we're on the way down. Reassuring to know it's normal. Happy with ours, 4 yearsish now and going strong. Only runs the van fridge and lights and odds n sods. Cheers mate
"Fixed the capacity issue" "120X Pro more cells" NOPE. You mean got caught out with their blatant lies stating the 120X is 120Ah, which it never was/is. Same amount of cells, but now bigger capacity cells giving a more truthful capacity (105Ah cells on the 120X compared to 120Ah in the 120X Pro). Plenty of teardowns showing their lies (including lies about discharge rates). Good down to earth review from you though 👍
Just to correct you, all LiFePo4 battery cells are 3.2 volts each so in any 12 volt battery there are only ever 4 cells in series connection. 3.2 x 4 = 12.8 volts nominal. To build a battery with extra capacity you just use cells of higher capacity, but still only 4 cells, until you are building a very high capacity battery after that you can parallel and series connect extra cells. The reason you can't pull 150a is because itech use a very cheap low spec BMS and they get away with it because 99% of people only want to run a fridge or a few lights and never get near 150a. A decent battery can provide 250a all day every day. Everything inside is cheap and low-spec, including the cells. You had better hope you don't need to make a warranty claim and join the legions of others whom they delay, deny, ignore, delete and block. Any dissenting review is also quickly deleted and the poster is blocked.
@@kizzjd9578 Maybe your BMS is faulty. Their specs say 100a continuous and up to 200a for 5 seconds. As long as you are monitoring internal temps and you are happy that nothing is getting too hot, go for it.
No it's just got proper 120 prismic cells in it now instead of 100s that they ripped everyone off with in the first batches always full of tricks this company
After some serious issues with 2 identical (parallel) x 135 batteries from another ripoff seller, The customer service that was totally ignored by these pricks pissed me off and I started legal action. After that ordeal there are only 2 things I look for in lithium purchases for any future buys, 1 is warranty time to fix the problem and 2nd is return freight costs payed for by the seller. These are critical for us all and most don't even take it into consideration until an issue pops up. With my story, they totally ignored my emails and stalled at every corner. Once they were served things changed very quickly. Buying batteries online is not the best way to buy things, especially if that company is not local to your state, Remember, it is all fantastic when new, and they only stuff up when your travelling and away from home.
Itech is cheap, so they've eventually replaced it Dud 120 with a real 120 ? All they did was use real 120 sales this time instead of 100s they're always full of these tricks this company! Good luck using this under a bonnet
BS, lead acid charger with equalization will causr more degradation on cells, under use and heat and std battery clamp will bulge, Typical flogger review Pull apart and show cell number info

No worries mate, glad I could give you some info.

Thanks for the feedback mate, I try to be straight down the middle with gear reviews.
Appreciate your honesty mate your about the only one out there which is a shame. Thanks Jon WA
Very informative, thanks.

Thanks for the info mate, I'll be sure to look into this
Someone who knows how it works just about to say something similar.
I can pull 175a continuous out of a 100ah slimline lithium amptron battery.

@@AlanLow nah ive got two in front of me that does 175 continuous and 320 peak.
Just fyi the warranty on their web site now claims The iTECH120X PRO warranty is 5 years (3 years full replacement 2 years pro-rata).
Thanks Ken.
I had what must have been an older spec sheet.
Hope the 5 years would still be honoured depending on what caused a failure.
can you run these two batteries in parallel? are they compatible?
No mate the specifications are different.
The 120X has a usable capacity of 105Ah
where the 120X PRO has a capacity of 120Ah
What size/brand solar panel are you running mate?
Just a cheap 110W fixed panel from Adventure Kings mate.
Are you sure it’s got more cells?

You didnt open the battery lol
Wasn’t too keen to void my warranty 😂
@@OutNAboutAustralia i know but you cant say how good a battery is until you see what cells and bms it has, build quality, component quality etc.

Fair call mate, I’d like to give this a go under bonnet just to see if I could cook it but the Colorado just doesn’t have the real estate 😔
