    Drop in change over ?? take that with a grain of salt..Lithium battery chargers utilise a specific charging algorithm which is vastly different to AGM, SLA ,Gel or Calcium. Its not just about charging voltage being suitable. There is a very good explaination by Access Autoelectrical here on TH-cam I suggest you check out..All upgrades that I have been party to we have upgraded DCDC charger, Solar regulators and 240v chargers where there is NO Lipo option on the existing chargers. People I know of did a "drop in replacement some 4 years ago, now looking to replace his Li batteries because they have capacity issues......just sayin...

    Hi Jake, what did you do with the Blue wire mate? If you don't use it, the system will not work due to voltage across that distance especially at 40 Amps.

    I am only just learning about these new Lithium batteries. I have heard and also read, that you need to be aware of their potential possibility that they can suddenly catch on fire. Is this actually true , as l like the obvious benefits of lighter weight and superior battery voltage storage
    Love your channel guys, l'm a new subscriber and l'm really enjoying your coverage of WA in particular, as my wife and l are seriously considering selling our house, here in NSW and buying a house in WA (somewhere) and your videos are fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your travels to all of us..
    Especially of WA. 😊👍👍

      Thank you so much for watching, we are stoked you are enjoying the videos. WA has absolutely blown out minds, we can’t believe how incredible each place is, and so different from north to south. 🤩🤩
      As for the batteries, lithium can catch on fire but there’s always a reason and it’s more than likely a poor quality battery.

    You should check charge rate on the battery before you go over amping the charge rate. Lipo batteries tend to EXPLODE if charged too fast. They also last longer charged at a slower rate 👍

      Thanks for the comment! The specs on these batteries say that the max charging current is 100A so hopefully we’ll be fine! 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Thanks so much for looking out for us, we will keep an eye on it!

      These are NOT LiPo, they are LiFePO4. Totally different chemistry, and LiFePO4 will not explode. Even if the BMS fails and the cells go into thermal runaway, they will not "explode".

      @grahamhastie896 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lifepo batteries will take as much charge as you can belt into them...the charge will be controlled by the internal BMS...

    Hey guy for future reference, when working on batteries take all the negative cables off first and label them if needed then no sparks if the positive touches earths . Love you guys be safe!

    Hi Jake, thanks for the vid. How are the batteries going? I'm curious to know as you went from 300ah AGM to 240ah lithium? What percentage do they drop to overnight? Cheers and keep up the great content 👍

    • @lilandjake
      @lilandjake  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Rob! The batteries are fantastic! I know it sounds a little odd we went from 300 to 240, but agm can only use about half their stated power, whereas the 120x pros can use their full stated power. So we really went from 150 to 240. And to answer the other question I've never seen them drop below 80% and that's with starlink on and running a toasted sandwich maker, I hope that makes sense hahaha! Thanks so much for the support. It means alot to us. Cheers legend! 🍻

    I have just discovered you guys and I think you are great.
    I am a bit of a TH-cam junkie being a boaty and have a new to us RV.
    I have to say you guys are stand outs. Natural, funny , down to earth and bluntly honest.
    Another quality product from Tassie. 😊
    Keep up the good work
    Love it.

      Andrew!!! This is so damn kind! So stoked you got yourself an RV, you’re not going to know yourselves on your travels now. How amazing! I’m glad we can be a bit of reality here on TH-cam and glad we get to make you laugh along the way, if not with us, at us! 😂 Happy Easter Legend!! 🤩

    I have 2000AH of lithium batteries onboard....mainly due to the fact that I run a reverse cycle aircon 24/7 and gaming computers in my RV.
    1200AH of them are ITechworld batteries...great batteries.
    A few points for you -
    - lithium batteries should not go below 10% of charge as it will reduce the number of charge cycles
    - some AGM chargers are not suitable for lithium batteries (ones that run a de-sulphate cycle)
    - AGM chargers do not fully charge lithium batteries (approx. 90-95% charge is normally achieved)
    - ITechworld does state that 99% of AGM chargers are compatible on their website
    - alternator charging of lithium batteries is not recommended as you can overcharge the batteries (to achieve this you need to change your alternator to one designed for this purpose}, perhaps the ITechworld charger takes this into account with their alternator charging technology (I don't have one) which may not be the same as your existing charger.
    One main reason I went for ITechworld batteries is because you have to take into account the warranty you may need to use.
    As I am mainly based in WA I can get the batteries back to ITechworld based in Perth, whereas to try to freight lithium batteries interstate will prove difficult and expensive as Lithium batteries have many regulations for transporting as freight.
    A caution for your viewers.....at the 12:00 minute on the video you left a socket wrench on top of the batteries...please be cautious when doing this as most wrenches are metal and if you short out the batteries you can cause a mini-explosion and/or lithium fire...which are next to impossible to extinguish.
    I work on battery banks that have a short circuit current of 14,000 amps, so I am super cautious about this aspect with tools, belt buckles, watches, etc, etc (if you have been zapped by a power point that is normally 20amps (ac) max, so imagine what 14K amps (dc) will do to you.

    You should have bought a PowerPaul Australia 300 ah. Less weight and enough power to run big stuff when you get an inverter. I did some research (not conspiracy type research, like when people say, “do your own research”), and they’re not only cheaper but they run a shit load and have great customer service. Just saying
