If you study the charts in the Yamaha book carefully, you will see that 20-50 multi has the best fit for Texas summers at 95 to 100F. I am not using new aluminum or copper washers, I just keep old washer and wrap oil plug bolt threads with 12 turns of teflon tape, never had one come out. Same on my truck for oil changes. I have witnessed outboards run in trash cans of water tear through trash can wall when owner engages propeller.

To all that view this video: Use the correctly rated oil (FC-W, 10W-30, or 10W40 as shown on the label on the motor). The oil he used is 10W-60 - way out of spec and does not have the marine additives that FC-W oil has. His product is NOT GOOD for the engine. Also he should have waited for the full 20 hours to allow the engine to fully break in before changing the oil. PLEASE read your manual and follow what the manual says...they are the experts.

I get them in a bulk pack on amazon, don't recall the size, maybe an M10 bolt size

Hi, did you also grease it by yourself? I found one grease point on the shaft is very confusing. There are two holes and should be grease in one hole and see the grease out from another hole, but there’s no fitting in the hole. I’m not sure how to fill grease into the hole.

There should be grease fitting for greasing locations not just a hole.

Correct way to dip the oil is to not screw the dip stick in, the oil level is 600ml in this engine No more or less it is very sensitive and how much oil is put in the engine.

that was what I thought too, coming from using hondas, but the yamaha owners manual says to screw it all the way in. Each mfg. has their own version of doing things.

The oil level is too high! Not good also!

Moto Guzzi cruiser ergonomics don’t fit anybody.
