Would love more explanation when you use the multimeter, how did you remove the short with it?
    Thanks for the video!

I will see what I will try to do, I have a heat gun and so but U don't I can manage to change super small diodes and stuff

Hi, Marcus and Nick, nice tutorial and help for your viewers. I am a hobbyist and do repair my own gadgets. Have you ever tried repairing the Battery Management System Board for the Pro 4 Battery, as I have two new condition batteries just not working. Hope to have reply from you, Thanks and keep up the good work.

What seem to be the initial problem causing the chip to short?

What should the values read on the multimeter when checking the diodes and the resistors?

Hey mate. How did the power flex come undone? How can I tell if mine is disconnected. I just replaced the battery but it won't power on.

I have a surface pro 7 , after I installed a new screen, the battery shows 100% but dies immediately after unplugging power. Any ideas ?

I have a surface pro 8 and have somewhat of a similar issue. It charges fine and holds a charge without issue. However the device will only boot for a few seconds before abruptly turning back off. Happens regardless of what I try to do. Either boot normal or boot to UEFI. Just shuts off shortly after boot. Any ideas ?

how are you checking the short on the capacitor next to the ITE chip using your meter?

  • @the.real.ipatch
    @the.real.ipatch 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

and what exactly did you do to remove the short other than injecting voltage?

I do have a question. Is it okay to plug in constantly my Surface pro 4 to its charger?
Its battery lasts 1hr only and it keeps turning off when it goes down 50%.
Will it damage the Surface itself?

    A noob question
Why do we sometimes use low melt solder and sometimes medium temp solder
Shouldn’t all ic’s solder be medium grade ?
I’m very new to this and still stuck at level 2 repairs

These are the shittiest products on the planet. They are almost impossible to fix and the screens are as delicate as peanut brittle. Not to mention the terrible wifi antenna that rips off every single time you have to replace the screen.
