To the person(s) at TFL that came up with the ideas for these videos….. you are brilliant! Love these videos. They are funny, interesting to know what the younger generation thinks about cars and I don’t believe any other TH-camr is doing this so LOVE the creative thinking. Keep up the great work.
don't buy one of these to look rich, you can lie to others but you can't lie to your own wallet. Buy these if you love cars. But don't do it to pretend to look rich, it gets you nowhere in life.. unfortunately.
How'd Jen and Tommy forget the Maserati Quattroporte? No other car makes you look so rich and menacing while still being so amazingly cheap to buy when used. Of course, maintaining it will bankrupt you, but you can get them for well under $20k and they look awesome.
The Mercedes SL is nearly collectible right now. Some of the most exotic German engineering for the turn of the century. There's no more refined convertible driving experience today; top up or down. At 100mph conversation can be had with the roof down windows roll bar wind deflector up. Mercedes poured their souls into R230 SL’s and the V12’s are peak SL. Just update the tires to modern Michelin Cup2’s, plug in a RENNtech tune and they’re quicker than new SL’s. I favor the 2009-2012’s for the steerable headlights but that’s just me.
Me too, I had an SL55AMG in white, and now I'm on an SL550 (2011 silver arrow). They are simply awesome, but you need some money for the ABC System to maintain it...
If the Cayenne was on stock wheels and probably a different colour as well itd look more affluent thr black aftermarket rims make it look a lil clapped imo
The Lexus convertible only looks good around yacht clubs where I bet you still find nicely kept ones. It was designed to have a nautical style. It looks good with a sail boat in the background. That being said, I detect this series isn’t serious enough. It’s fine to throw in one gag pick, but these picks seem a little too phony and designed to get laughs.
This was great, with fun discussions, I like the guessing games with all of you guys! 👍 Also, love that Jaguar XJ, have been looking for a clean one for some time, but I'm afraid of the maintenance costs. 😄
The rich guys I actually know have a 1981 Porsche 928, the 2-seater T-bird from this list, A Model A roadster and a 62 Bug for toys. They all drive crew cab pickups every day. King Ranch, 1792, Denali, AT4X.
About 15 years ago I’m sitting at a red light in Dallas and a black SC400 with the top down pulls up next to me and I look over to see Mark Cuban’s goofy mug smiling back at me. License plate MFFL
I bought older Jaguars not because I wanted to look rich, like my 2008 Jaguar XJ I bought it because it is stunning, it's a classic, this was back in 2013 and it was an old man's car. Most people probably thought it was from the 90s. But I admit I did feel like old money in it money in it. I also want to buy an SC430 which is certainly an old money car but that's because they're reliable, badass, and cheap
Fellow Filipinos will understand when I describe, especially the Jag, as the "epitome of tukod car." Tukod car = the type of car that you'll buy to stand on a jack stands in your garden and polish it every week just to look something like someone
Mary isn’t good at judging what a used car should cost. Me neither. I always have to haggle with a used car dealer because I think they are way over pricing their cars.
It to understaded to be in this lost. But my cadillac roadster of the same vintage as that vette cost three times the vette new. But can be had in decient driver cinsition for half what you found the Vette for. Sure its not a vette. But its a much more confortable v8 roadster with mire interior room as well as a large trunk.
The shade thrown at the Lexus SC is absolutely bizarre. It is the only car on this list that will actually stay on the road without costing you to buy it twice.
We’re missing the mileage on all the cars though… a significant parameter to the price… and whether you look rich and you’re smart, or you look rich but you aren’t smart.
Thunderbird makes you look 75 and you think it's special, but the seats are hard and uncomfortable. With the power of a lawnmower to push it around. I've been in plenty and every owner is an old man screaming at the cloud that thinks they own a Ferrari, but cant afford the $1500 to replace the coils
The Lexus SC is one of the least Lexus cars to make you look rich. Stick with a large sedan or SUV. Used ones generally don't look dated but are relatively cheaper. The Thunderbird and C4 Corvette are more nostalgia cars than rich people's cars. Replace the small BMW with an older 5- or 7-series, or a larger SUV. I would also add older Genesis vehicles, or even Hyundai Genesis before they spun off Genesis as a separate brand.
on the T bird hummm ok family brought an 02 pre production. Was going to be a keeper TILLLLLL 7K miles 15 years. Fuel pump 1K to fix, next water pump 2K, It was a horrible car to see out of and roof was PIA to take off and do something with we sold it back to the dealership. Seen several video on how this is such an expensive car to maintain. Its a jag, so the pretty thunderbird blue had to leave the stable. My corvettes were less maintenance
S-class only screams money if it’s the newer body. Older bodies just say you can’t afford to upgrade. The Jaguar screams old money. The Lexus says “I’m a dentist.” I do well but I have to work.
I own a cheap car that makes me look rich. 2014 Tesla Model S. Cost me less than $10k (after $4k tax credit), and looks VERY close to a Model S of today...just dirtier and more dings. It was also over $110k new. 😂
If the person looking at you knows how much those German cars cost to maintain and repair, THAT will scream "independently wealthy". The Lexus is reliable, if ugly, while the Corvette uses straightforward domestic parts from the 80s. And I think Kase's Corvette was nicer.
Any of these is a money pit until you fix all the little (and big) things that are broken. After that the Lexus most likely will be ok. The rest keep breaking and being a money pit.
See motomans was saying that Tesla pioneered the triangle design with the cybertruck. Did the dude forget about 70a and 80s supercars and vettes and the dome zero
Any of these cars are gonna make you look rich with one caveat: no aftermarket parts. As long as they are OEM… they’ll look rich. Those wheels on that cayenne screamed “I got this cheap and have not maintained it at all”. That being said though, just get a Honda or Toyota with full warranty. Nothing screams richer than a smart decision.
Get a performance Model S with free unlimited supercharging for life for less than these. You'll need to fix the door handles. But 700hp and FREE FUEL. $150k new!
Make you look rich? No, they just make you actually poorer. When I was poorer I drove cars like that. Now that I am properly rich my dd is a Crosstrek. I have no need to 'look rich' since being actually rich, but also don't need to drive so much either. It was a pita having to drive 40 min into the city to the Benz dealer for all too often service, get home, then return again to pick up the car. bah, the subaru dealer is walking distance and for our Tesla the service guy comes to our house!
2007-2012 ES350. Much cheaper to maintain than the LS430, looks much better, just as comfortable, almost as powerful (has the legendary 2GR-FE V6). I'd pick that over *any* LS, especially the 430 and 460.
You two are funny, My very successful cousin does drive an LS 430, and his wife has the ES 350, so you're both right. There is also a Rambler 770 in the garage, so he's a little eccentric.
Would rather buy or lease a new luxury car than buy one of these and pretend to be rich. Unless of course I simply want one of these older luxury rides and would be buying it because I'm simply an enthusiast for it. This was hilarious though!!
When I see cars like these I think you’re one of three things: Old person with old money, Car enthusiast, or You live in your parent’s basement and care way more about status than your wallet can afford. Usually pretty obvious which one as soon as I get a look at the person. 😂
The Lexus convertible only looks good around yacht clubs where I bet you still find nicely kept ones. It was designed to have a nautical style. That being said, I detect this series isn’t serious enough. It’s fine to throw in one gag pick, but these picks seem a little too phony.

Thanks, we appreciate the love!
Mary is in the pre-pandemic, pre-inflation price world. Her prices were reasonable. All others were expensive.
don't buy one of these to look rich, you can lie to others but you can't lie to your own wallet. Buy these if you love cars. But don't do it to pretend to look rich, it gets you nowhere in life.. unfortunately.
Dude...relax! It's a car show not Oprah!
Words of wisdom Keith
In life, where are you trying to go?
Jesus the e39 M5, I can't escape it. The kennan special.
I thought of Kennan too… 😅. He’s probably twitching listen to them talk about it 😂
@@atmartens These youngsters don’t know a good looking car when they see one.
Thiiiiiiis!
The first four, you better have a German tech, on staff, because what you don't pay, up front, you WILL pay, on the back end
🍑🍑🍑
I know right? You need to be rich to maintain these...which is why I see so many "ballers" driving a Benz with bald tires, unrepaired body work, etc.
“There is nothing more expensive than a cheap German car.”
When I see a c4 Corvette I don't see somebody who has a lot of money. I see somebody who's asking a lot of money to sell their c4 Corvette
I see frat boy with rich parents or old accountant who wishes he was one .
A lot of those cars like the c4, jag, or land rover seemed to me "trailer park rich" or "ghetto rich" lol.
How'd Jen and Tommy forget the Maserati Quattroporte? No other car makes you look so rich and menacing while still being so amazingly cheap to buy when used. Of course, maintaining it will bankrupt you, but you can get them for well under $20k and they look awesome.

“Can I show you a picture of mine….” That’ll bring her around……love the effort!!
yeah I know right Kase is sure the charmer in these videos huh haha
Jen nailed it with the SL500
Cannot agree more, I had an SL55AMG, but now I will take the 2011 SL550...
‘Look rich’ … but everyone underestimated the prices
Tommy, you really should do an in-depth study of Elvis’ car history.
The SL and the Range Rover are the only two that make you look rich!!
V6 Cayennes actually aren't all that bad to maintain.
The ladies add so much to your shows, keep them coming back ! 😎
Kase sees the lexus: that's unfortunate 😂😂😂 Jen's picks, as expected, were way better than Tommy's
If the Cayenne was on stock wheels and probably a different colour as well itd look more affluent thr black aftermarket rims make it look a lil clapped imo

Get a 90 series Volvo. They are not overpowered but very elegant, look incredibly classy, and do NOT have the German tax like most European cars.

As an "addict" who also looks for formerly expensive vehicles, these would not be on my list to look rich except the Mercedes S Class and the SL 500.
"Because of the everything about it" floored me.

That’s a really cool omega swatch!!
Next time: Tommy - An ultimate selection of ninety nine cars that make you look old.
As is true with airplanes often the cheapest thing about these cars is buying them.
Maserati Quattroporte. Italian royalty
“Stubbed toe look to it” 😂 perfectly stated.
We’re missing the mileage on all the cars though… a significant parameter to the price… and whether you look rich and you’re smart, or you look rich but you aren’t smart.

The Audi TT is missing the rear spoiler. The recall spoiler that was dealer installed to prevent the car from going airborne at high speed.

The SC430 is the only one you don’t actually have to BE rich to own cuz the rest will bankrupt you in maintenance in six months.
Will Farrell was a villain in a movie, Zoolander.
S-class only screams money if it’s the newer body. Older bodies just say you can’t afford to upgrade. The Jaguar screams old money. The Lexus says “I’m a dentist.” I do well but I have to work.
In our country those old cars costs a lot less. Newer are more expensive
An old Porsche 911- cause they look the same back then as they do now so no one will know you’re driving a 20 year old car. 😂

Damn. I didn't know Tesla resale was that bad! Doesn't say much for the brand.
Tesla used to make you look rich. Now it just makes you look like a jerk.

Fun video. Good job.
There are a few cars on this list that make your family look wealthy. If it is a well kept hand-me-down, then it says that your family has money.
a brief summary: Tommy has skewed perception on what "looking rich" means
If you buy any used luxury vehicle, prepare to spend at least $4-8k per year (on a good year) for maintenance, repairs, etc. Cant stress this enough…
There is a reason why they're so cheap now
See motomans was saying that Tesla pioneered the triangle design with the cybertruck. Did the dude forget about 70a and 80s supercars and vettes and the dome zero

Mary had much more reasonable pricing on these vehicles. Not these convoluted post pandemic prices people are asking now days.
Get a civic. Change the oil 3 times a year. Be happy. Used Mercedes??? Be prepared for tons of problems.
Without knowing mileage, accident history, clean title, etc then pricing is hard to say
Jen wins!
I do like Porsches, but the Cayenne front end has always reminded me of a salamander.
Great video
Someone needs to show this to Kennan
Some people will buy cheap cars to make themselves look rich, just as some people will buy cheap cars to make themselves look poor.
I want to live in Mary’s world, might actually be reasonable to buy some of those cars lol.
And then there's the Toyotas, at a glance you won't look rich but we all know that thing was expensive 😂

Where do you find a Range Rover for that price???
I'm looking at 344k miles, not beat up body, asking 10.5k
IDK, that E39 looks pretty cheap, cheaper than it actually is. If they mentioned the F10 I would have agreed with them.
You forgot your beloved LR3.
We all know a mint E39 M5 is takes the entire list. Keyword is mint* If it’s a 6spd, good luck 🍀 finding one under $25k

why not a conversion van??
"A Secret Waterbed Somewhere" LOL
I actually like the Lexus one best of all. And I know it'll hold up like nothing else on the list.
No, I'm not a boomer lol.
Great video. 10 cheap cars that make you look rich... and will keep you broke
This should be renamed which car will make you look rich and poor at the garage . Each other of these less the t bird cost big bucks to be maintained
i hate all these choices
Just luv Kase!
Jen is best value.
Richest person is the one with a running luxury euro car. They can afford a new car every year.
I ll take the e39 m5
