Please Greg don't stop your builds for us to watch. You do a brilliant job, your one of my favourite you tube builders. Sorry been a bit self endulgent.👍🍻🇦🇺🇬🇧
Thank you Greg for sharing. Your build video is informative and entertaining. Impressive results that shows that the Kotare kit is a high quality, accurate model. As for the issue with wing surface detail. The leading D section of the Spitfire wings was 14 gauge the rest mostly 20g thick sheet held in place with flush rivets. The D section surface was made smooth with putty and sprayed primer/filler. The Australian War Memorial w/site has a official RAF training film titled; 'Streamline Colour' by Guild Films that shows the practices in preparing and painting High Speed Aircraft.
Thankyou Greg for producing some truly stunning models and taking the time to film the process for us mere mortals! Hope to see you back again soon mate 👍👍👍
Looks really lovely Greg. I have this kit but I need to get a few more builds under my belt first to do it justice. The engineering and attention to detail I think are first class. I'll definitely be coming back to this video for reference when the time comes. Thank you.
Gorgeous. I was interested to note that the kit comes with a choice of 3 famous classic markings. All of which I have built in various scales from several manufacturers over the years. The detail here is far more impressive than the other makes, although 1/32nd scale heavily eats into my available display space. Another excellent job and more lessons learned from you. Cheers.
To do the centre red dot, use your compass cutter on the Tamiya tape to cut the right size. Do it twice, a decent spacing apart. Then using the same centre point cut around the edge, to a size just under the outer white area. Then you can lift up the mask and place it within the blue circle on the model with confidence that the hole will be centered. Mask around the outer edges to prevent over spray. Hope this is useful to you.
Another of your brilliant builds. Many thanks for sharing your work and expertise over the years and i hope that you will find the time to do more in the future.
Im sure the roundels were a pain in the proverbial for you, but it definitely adds to the finished result. A beautiful presentation, as always. I hope the house move will go quickly and we’ll see you again soon! Ian
Thank you for another great build. Made my weekend. Very realistic end result. Can't wait for another one, I really like your approach and format of these videos - everything is clear and easy to understand, no haphazard skips or gaps, all techniques shown and shared with the audience. Watching your builds helped me become a better modeller.
Stunning - it’s guys like you on TH-cam that make model building seem so accessible to us mere mortals, your videos are concise and clear and you commentary gives us the viewer just enough information without overloading us - something I try but fail to emulate with my content, I understand how difficult it can be to produce videos, especially with work and life commitments but really you owe it to us to keep on producing them (no pressure). All the best buddy and thank you. Iain.
Hi Greg. The mysterious "they" say that truth hurts. Well, your masterpieces prove it dosen't have to. Another rip snorter sir! You bring the model to life with the care and attention you put into it, whilst doing your best to sound as if you're not bothered! Wonderful work again. Thank you.
I really enjoyed your video. As a relatively new builder. I strive to measure up to your work. Easy to follow, great voice and pleasant flow. Thank you for this build!
Excellent build, Greg! I really enjoyed your detailed explanations of the build progression. The end result looks fantastic. I'll definitely be referring to your video again when I start building mine. Thank you for taking the time to produce this video!
Excellent job on the "Spit". It is a great and detailed offering far better than the Revell one that I have in the same scale. Keep up the good work, looking forward to your next build.
Another truly excellent build Greg. Always a pleasure to watch and learn from a master at work. Can’t wait for your next project no matter when you complete and upload it 😁👍🏻
I hope we see your top drawer modelling skills very soon. You are one of the most natural builders and painters with a great presentation style. You always inspire me 👍
Excellent Saturday morning TV as always Greg. A lot has been shown and said about this kit but you get a really good sense of how it builds from your video. A smashing end result too. I'm not sure it's a kit for me but I don't know why I feel like that. I love a good spitfire - maybe I'm just Spitfired-out. Incidentally I'm experimenting with your sanded paint technique on the 2023 Airfix club kit at the moment. A bit 'squeaky bum' but is working well so far with decals next. If you don't use it already, DaVinci Resolve 18 from Blackmagic is a very good edit tool and the base version is free for Windows or Mac. All the best.
This is one of best builds I've ever seen on TH-cam. Great, especially cockpit, exhaust and painting masks. ;) Totally awesome. I feel Wingnut Wings in this kit (even instruction is a bit similar somehow), and Your works added to it resulted with perfect result. All the best for You! ;)

Bravo sir! Tremendous work as always. Thankyou for all your hard work.. amazing!!! Also loved the funny comments and amusing yourself whilst completing the build.. "rear bottom" also made me chuckle!! Look after yourself and looking forward to seeing your next build!
Re squadron markings; yes the format was "*single letter* - *two letters*". The single letter identified the individual aircraft within the squadron, the squadron was the two letter identifier.
Just come across this video (and others). Blimey, modelling has come along since my day in the 1970’s! I haven’t made a model since at least 1982, but I’m really thinking now I’m fast approaching 60 that I’ve missed out on a lot of years of modelling enjoyment. As an aside, does anyone out there remember Hancock & Smith model shop in Epping, Essex? I spent a lot of my childhood haunting that place.
Nice work Greg, I'm considering buying this kit, I've seen maybe 4 or 5 people build this on TH-cam, the more the better, always good to get a few opinions on the kit before paying money for it, This must be the year for modellers to take a break, good builds are getting very thin, take care mate and see you in the next one.
I hope you're not going to retire altogether i really look forward to your videos and thats another great model Greg, I love the early black and white RAF camouflage it looked really good on the early Hurricanes as well. Great build again the kit is very nice and the top wings are correct as on the real plane the rivets are puttied over to help with airflow odd but that’s the way it was
I /think/ Micro Set is for setting the decal in position and Micro Sol is for softening it into surface detail like panel lines so it looks painted on.
As Usual Very nice model you have at the end of the build. For the Price though I will be leaving it on the model shop shelves. too Expensive for what it is. Enjoy the Gardening!
sure i glimpsed "inconel"in relation to the exhaust this materiel is used for the vanes (particularly exhaust side)in a turbocharger ,so all u need is a visit to a motor parts shop to check your color
I also have been unsure of the Microset/Microsol debate but after looking about I've come to the conclusion that Microset is good for all normal decals on flat/near flat surfaces and Microsol works better on convex/concave situations where getting decals to conform to compound curves where the curve is not linear.A very beautiful build and paintwork.

Awesome work again. Don't ever change your videos! I don't know what is right, but Flory did a review of this kit and said the top wings were puttied like a mustang so didn't have rivets, so kit is correct?
Overall, pretty damn nice! I would've added a few more details like the crow bar on the cockpit access hatch (might be only on later marks). I love Kotare's attempt to give you an option with accurate, molded-in harnesses. Overall cockpit details are very accurate. My colour choices would've been slightly different from yours. I'm a big fan of how the machine guns are detailed on this kit. I'd still feel very tempted to get metal for the landing gear, especially for the tail wheel. I find that to be a big weak spot for any Spitfire kit.
THis is a very nice kit and build. You knailed it. Just on picky comment, hope you don't mind. The interior green of the spitfires was a bit more paler. This one looks like US aircraft interior green that was more bright and strong color.
Hi Greg, I have watched your builds for a while & enjoyed emensley. Good luck with the move. As far as the spit goes, well, I hate to say it. It's another spit. I think I will give it a miss though. All the best.
