  • Eagle-eyed viewers out there will have noticed that the navigator's windows are hiding under a layer of paint. My idea was to use a circle guide and fine pen to draw these on later. When done correctly this looks very good. But as I got closer to the end of the build, I lost the will to tackle this, sorry. The nose door strut is still hiding somewhere; will hoover him up this weekend, no doubt.
I've taken the final photos from my phone to see what they turn out like, so much easier, but please do let me know whether photos or the walkaround is better.

As a life time modeller myself, I love it when a modeller see’s a reference image (Skybolts) and works out how to make it happen! That’s really what modelling is about.

Superb stuff! I particularly like the weathering. Its subtle and realistic. Too many modellers don't seem to know what real aircraft actually look like and seem to think they operated in coal mines.

These wings are HUMUNGOUS...!!! Fantastic build of course 😎

Oh lawd, the size of those sprues. There must be enough plastic in the leftover sprues to make a 1/72 Sopwith Camel!

Pleasure to watch this Vulcan come together , as far as I'm aware the sky bolt missiles were never operational on the vulcan & the tests were done with concrete filled shell's to original weight spec which didn't affect the aircrafts handling one bit , pilots said no appreciable affects to flight characteristics whatsoever , a very nice model representing a moment in history.

Awesome work. I saw a Vulcan at an air show when I was a kid. Couldn’t get over the size of her.

Ant flash white airframe, brings back memories of my teenage years in Lincolnshire. Great presentation as usual, it looks a great kit. Scratch built skybolts, I bet they didn't take as long to make as filling and rescribing the previous Airfix Vulcan!

I love that the missiles had roundels! That's pretty hard-core.

Sanding paint. I wish I had found you a couple years ago. Makes a huge difference.

You, sir, are a machine. A magnificent build of a magnificent aircraft. Simply stunning. Can't believe an all white paint job could turn out so beautiful.

The peak of British aircraft design. The Vulcan could of been an aircraft from The Thunderbirds.

Even though I don't build many aeroplane kits nowadays, I seriously want this kit. I've got one of the earlier kits in the stash with the markings for XH558 and we all know how inaccurate that kit was. This new kit would be a great substitute for building The Grand Old Lady

Another excellent build Greg. It brings back memories of watching the Vulcan fly at the Abbotsford Airshow here in Canada when I was younger a beautiful and graceful aircraft not to mention very loud. Thanks .

Great model Greg one of my favorite aircraft, I remember watching these as a kid, they were real ground shakers. One flew low over our house and I can remember all the windows rattling.
