It seems like such a little thing, but I absolutely respect your insistence that you scrape the paint off of both surfaces to be glued. I constantly see people glue paint to paint, and act like nothing's wrong. I see people glue plastic to plastic, but never mention why you should. It's the difference between having a solidly built model you'll own for years, and one you'll pick up in a month or two and have fall apart in your hands. This is why I love your channel- fantastic paint applied to a model built with timeless, simple techniques every generation should know. Thanks for the video, and have a great week.
Indeed it is recommended that you will scrape the paint off of both surfaces before gluing but in my earlier days of modeling I didn't knew that and I glued plastic to plastic and I can assure you that it won't fall apart even after 2 years. The plastic joint will overall be worse but if it's only sitting in a shelf and you pick it every now and then, there isn't any danger of it falling apart. Tho anyone who knows about this "trick" should definitely do it.
Another note in regard to many newer well designed kits, is that sometimes the kit is engineered with such tight tolerance between assembly pieces that if you don't scrap paint, you may have fitment issues further down the road. Just word to the wise, especially with new Eduard kits.
let's hope my spitfire doesn't break. I think I skipped that when I glued some bits
Isn't scraping the paint off possibly worse as scraping the paint May scrape away material as well making the joint not as much as a tight fit previously

2-bladed prop is wood, so there will be no paint scratches showing silver (underlying metal).
Incredible build, absolutely beautiful, and what a coincidence! My copy of this kit (the regular Mk.Ia, not the early one, admittedly) arrived in the post just this morning. I also got the Brassin cockpit and engine sets as well to go with it, along with some aftermarket markings so I can make AZ-H (N3277). My very first model was a 1/72 model of that airframe from Airfix, and so I want to show just how far I have come since then by making this beautiful kit. Now I just need to finish the Airfix Buccaneer sitting on my workbench...
You will enjoy your time with this kit, I can't say anything about the new brassin sets I haven't seen them in person, hopefully for the Mk.V I will buy the Brassin sets. I wanted to finish this kit as soon as possible as a relaxing quick build, happily I can confirm that. Btw, that Buccaneer was always on my list but I never got one (new tool) I have two ancient kits in my stash.

Glad you choose the Mk.1 early. Everybody seems to build Mk.V and later {like me}. Great job of weathering, not too overdone. PLUS ANTENNA WIRE! NICE! Another gem added to your build collection. Congrats!

Hugh Dowding had to campaign to get armoured glass for his pilots ; the front section of canopy. saved a lot of pilot's lives with that one thing.
Eduard and Tamiya are the 2 best modeling brands for aircraft in 72 and 48 scale.
Not my scale, but the model is truly Amazing.👍

Looks nice, however yes, colours look a bit different than usual. And there is a tip for thin decals - before use give them layer of clear coat, on whole sheet. It is a bit harder to cut them off, and a bit more process after lay down, but it is still better that being angry of destroyed decals. ;) All the best for You! ;)

Thought I was fairly knowledgeable on the subject of WW ll but have never seen any Photographs of a British Spit. w that two tone & natural metal Cammo paint scheme . Really interesting ‐ thanks 👍🤓 🦧
Just thought I should point out that the lower surface was painted with aluminium paint, they weren't left bare/natural metal.
i have it the table right now can confirm its one of the best kits... but one think that conerns me is that how many people are building this exact kit this month XD

Excellent work! But, um, hey, Eduard, are those CANYONS, or panel lines? "Panel canyons"?.... I'd wanna fill them in. Maybe they are 1/8 scale panel lines on a 1/48 model?.....
I think the 1/1 scale real thing has smaller panel gaps. Looks more like an Aurora kit from the 1960's.... But a MASTER level build! Great work!

Did you have any issues with Eduards own new type decals ? Apparently a film needs to be peeled away after placing the decal ?
I haven't had big issues. Only the stencils where problematic, very thin, as for the decal film I decided to leave it as is. Gloss coated over the decals. But yes, you can peel off the film. Thanks!!

What a perfect built. I have one question. What can we use in interitor washing without clear? What about white spirit?

Yes that's right, you can use white spirit with enamel paints as well! AMMO weathering washes are enamel based for example. You can also find odorless enamel thinners etc.

Even and the original paints , on real aircraft painting, batches of the same color often have a difference in hue.

Really enjoying your builds. But I must commend you on your video and editing quality, excellent. This is how you tubers get views. One negative is that cutting mat, a bit dazzling on HD TV.

Great build Dusan! How would you compare this model to the Tamiya one. This seems to have more details an overall quality. Thanks for sharing!
I would say this kit has some major mistakes from eduard that really seemed unneeded. The front upper engine cowl is split in two parts leaving a seem down the middle of the most visible part of the aircraft, with loads of rivets next to the seam. Besides that on my mk v the gear did not attach all that solidly to the wells. Other than that, I have few complaints. The model is more detailed than the Tamiya kit, and generally fits well.
Tamiya is gorgeous kit that fits perfectly and has absolutely enough details.

The Tamiya spit is great kit, just not nearly as detailed as the eduard one. Please bother and read my comment again, more carefully. Anyways at last it's subjective, if you like less details for a better fit or more details with more complexity. But IMHO it's better to have better surface details, more photo etch and better masks and have to sand a bit more than having less surface details, less photo etched parts,and worse masks just so I don't have to sand that much. Then again that's just MY opinion and I do say that the Tamiya spitfire is great...

Ahh... can't consider that MkV unless you have wing that comes with the (at time of comment 31st August) MK11b or the "Tally Ho" Mk11a/b Dual Combo... every sprue from the "The Few" Dual Combo #11143 to the Mk1a Profipack #82151 etc, etc, has MkV stamped on each sprue. Sincere and warm regards :)

@@ScaleModelAircraft Dusan, if you are keen on doing a MkIIb - which is very similar to the MkV, Eduard do the Profipack MkIIb #ED82154. You can also build it from the Dual Combo MkIIa/MkIIb #11146 (as previously described) Eduard have a plethora of these earlier Spitfire's released, so I just thought I'd offer that up as I got the impression you were keen on the MkV... and at this stage, the MkIIb is very close. Master also do brass 20mm early Hispano as used on the MkIIb & MkV's. Meanwhile, I continue to enjoy your build's, however warbirds are more my thing than experimental or "what if" Axis aircraft! Kind regards from Sydney mate :)
