Absolutely amazing. I love it. I’m 83 and me and my husband used to love to dance He been gone 15 years cancer. We had daughter Sally named after her Gramma. I shall text her this. She will love it. I do thank you so very much!!
must have been 1990, I was 16, training on bicycle for triathlon sport, out on lonley roads. I had a very nice slim sony walkman and listened to Eric. Great easy times back then
Exactly! Perhaps not his greatest .. But my personal favourite as well. Though I do prefer the '78 version If memory serves well this is his period where he deliberately refused to play lead parts
I'll never forget being a 5 year old kid being woke up to my parents jam sessions and the power of songs like this especially when their live up-close-and-personal like that in the living room. So good.... Great jam! God bless 🙏
By far the best ever version of this song, not likely to to hear a better one in the future!! All the players perfect at what they contribute, backing vocals, can’t fault anything,in fact the whole concert was amazing.

Back in the day i was on a plane in bad stormy weather and i found this song on the plane playlist and listened to it on repeat whilst the plane dropped and veered into calmer weather
Pale comparison to Albert Lee's remarkable Country guitar chickin' pickin' solo on the album and live shows during that era. Lee was the real deal! Clapper, as great of a Blues guitarist as he undeniably is, never honed the chops to play lighting-fast Country guitar licks. That's why he hired Albert Lee as a guitarist during that particular period.
It just does not get any better than this. Eric is king. Eric could have down the solo but instead he let Tim do it. That is just the kind of person he is.
A bit strange how he apparently left the Yardbirds over the too poppy song, "For Your Love," but in the 1980s turned to recording equally simple fluffy stuff, if not more so.

Tim was ready... 😉 what a solo... amazing, Eric was laughing.... with enjoyment
I think it's because they kinda messed with the chord progression
what happened to Tim?
Eric was all smile. That's how good Tim was.
Indeed
@@griffinpaul4269 could be also, but my friend, I think its because of that beautiful playing
Tim Renwick is the real master of the stratocaster. Every lick Tim plays I incredibly dynamic and fluent.
Absolutely I rewind his part a lot 🎶😎🎵
Thank you TH-cam for making this possible. 🙏🏽

The solo is awesome.
Playing lead guitar and solo in front of Eric Clapton. No pressure there.
He held his own tho!!
I respect Eric Clapton more for what he has gone thru outside of his music.
first heard this in 1985 and been a fan ever since. You could say I caught the "Clap" from this song.
Great funky version. Love it.
Love this guy...could listen to this ever day....anytime in his career
I'll never forget being a 5 year old kid being woke up to my parents jam sessions and the power of songs like this especially when their live up-close-and-personal like that in the living room. So good....

Love this song :-)
One the greatest song
Esse Tim é monstro...PQp.
Lay Down Sally ...........
Blues guitarist? Yes, but don’t let that fool you. Clapton can get in your head just as well as any pop artist.
I subscribed solely for this video and your screen name...👌🏻😅
Amy. And this song are very similar to each other both enjoyable
de lo mejor.....
Eric Clapton ❤ Lyrics video
Man you can see why Clapton played Blackie so much!!!!! Killer tone

Eric Clapton ❤ Sall Down Saily Lyrics Video
wait is this donald "duck" dunn from the blues brothers?
Yes, look him up if you want to see great bass playing and funny faces. Guy is one of the groundbreakers.
Yeah, it is. Brilliant. ✌🏾☮️🏴
I was thinking the same thing
He’s from Booker T and the MGs first
wow...
perfikt'
tim was completely lost in the first solo. still played great

super
All of you guitar experts need to checkout Danny Gatton, see where it takes you.
🎸🎸🎸
I always wanted to play the guitar but I don't know how much pressure you need to put on the strings to get the right notes
Bass player looked really impressed 🥴🥴😆

Business decision...
That’s Phil Collins Fault.
Was this version released on any album?
The closest Clapton probably came to playing a country song. The great Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass.
Who is the guitar solist?
good solo but guitar solo time bass line mistake.
Debbie siddal
I think Erick was trying to end that tune, and everyone wasn't catching his cues, lol.
