Well said! I started following Arielle because I thought she was an advocate for LBGT rights. I soon realized she was so transphobic. I am a cis straight 54yo mom of 4 trying to understand about LGBT issues after my daughter came out. Her videos are so hateful. I worry that other older people will fall for her "fake" advocacy.

I researched from reputable sources such as peer review articles, and textbooks. All of it was also taught in my lectures in detail. I’m sure it will help you understand more if you were mature enough to educate yourself outside of social media.

As a transsexual man, myself, my feelings about the relationship between a trans person's individuality and how their physical communities perceive them are far more complex and nuanced than a video could do justice to. In simplest terms, I don't think Areola Scaremonger is 100% _wrong_ about _how society sees_ a pre-(medical)transition trans person (in or out of relationships), but my bigger issue is that *it's just insulting* that she apparently thinks that trans people need to be told this. Like, trans people live in a state of being regularly reminded of how other people see us, both as a community and as individuals. Shit, I can barely do a load of laundry without one of my neighbours' friends, a delivery driver, or whatever, doing a double - take and _saying out loud_ "what the... Is that... Some kinda white boy?" (literally a quote from two days ago) and I've even been on HRT almost fifteen years, and I've had all the surgeries.
I'm at a point where confused comments from people I don't know are something I'm more entertained than insulted by, but there's no faster way to insult me than to talk to me like I'm stupid, and that's basically how AS talks to/about trans people.

Okay so I’m straight so maybe I just don’t get it since I’m not actively in the lgbtq community. But personally I never understood why members of the lgbtqq community are being hateful towards other members of the lgbtq community. Like since she’s lesbian, (sadly) surely she made experiences with receiving hate for her sexuality, so why should she do that to trans people? Like... idk I just don’t understand... Honestly if somebody could educate me here, please do

I am a cis woman in a straight relationship who is trying to educate herself recently and be open to everything and everyone, looking at different communities. I stumble across your and Jamie's videos more often and I like you both so much!
I also try to understand the whole TERF problem, especially because of "you know who" .. I am completely with you, most of the comments are stupid and uninformed and it is just rude to say that someone else's feelings are not "real enough" , so that you don't address them correctly, use correct pronouns, do not welcome them while gossiping in the ladies' toilet. I would do all of these things in a heartbeat because firstly it doesn't harm anyone and secondly it is good for the person and makes them feel good. Very simple thing!
For me it is more difficult, and maybe the nice people here can help me with my point of view, if it restrict areas which cis women have fought for, as for example in professional sports. I know, super special example and it keeps coming up, actually unnecessary, but when I see memes with athletes with a transgender background and sentences like "Men are the better women" under it, it is probably not only me who vomit, but the women on the pictures too.
But there is a point. People with y chromosome who produced testosterone during puberty are usually taller and build muscle more easily. That's why the women's and men's leagues were introduced. My opinion is that this is an outdated concept and athletes should be classified according to other criteria in order to ensure a fair competition (maybe according to hormone levels? Maybe according to physique / muscle structure? I don't know). Also, especially in recent years, PMS and menstrual issues have been increasingly recognized by society. I try to get used to talk about "people" on these topics, too, to not discriminate anyone, but I find it difficult, because one sex has to deal with these topics and the other just doesn't. Additionally, there are no different words for sex and gender in the German language, what makes it even more difficult. So if you want to fight for rights at your workplace, for example, it is difficult to involve everyone because not everyone has to face the same hurdles. In order to convince stubborn old men, what most bosses are, if we're honest, you have to bring clear examples and instructions and I have to admit that I am probably the least inclusive in these places, although it would probably be easy if my opponent would be somewhat insightful..I'm sorry, but i find it difficult to speak for others in these situations, but I would support anyone who does!
Another controversial opinion: I can understand that especially in cases where people have become criminals or a crime has happend, special attention is paid to the matter and it is not enough that someone claims to be a woman to be put in a women's prison. In my opinion, no medical intervention as evidence has to have taken place in this case, but rather a conversation with the treating psychologist, maybe a diagnosed genderdysphoria. To make it clear again: Nobody has to bring me any proof, but if you did something, you just have to make sure that you get into the prison you belong to. The same applies to women's shelters in my opinion. Of course, trans women should also be welcome there, as you said, protection for them is just as necessary. Nevertheless, security must be guaranteed for everyone so that no cis man gets access just because he claims to be a woman. If additional checks on the person lead to more security, they should be able to be done, even if people may find it unfair.
Now, am I a TERF because I think these things? I don't think so. I am a feminist and I also believe that the topic is not over yet. But the problem is certainly not trans-people, but stereotypes that we all impose on each other. Women to each other, men to each other, men to women, women to men, straight to queer, queer to straight, trans to cis, cis to trans. It would be a lot easier if we all would just stop that.
I think you are doing a great job and my education-trip is certainly not over yet. Greetings from Germany

Your video helped me come up with this saying, "If it's not who you are, you have no say." "If you're not a pregnant woman, you have no say about abortion." "If you're not a Mexican (or other race), you have no say about what is or is not offensive to the Mexicans (or other race)" "If you're not an atheist, you have no say in diagnosing the mental health of atheists." "If you're not disabled, you have no say questioning whether we are faking it or not." "If you are not trans, you have no say in defining who is and who isn't trans."

When I was first questioning my gender, she was the first LGBTQ+ TH-camr I saw and it royally messed me up for a long time. I'm a trans guy. After watching her videos, and not knowing a lot of trans people myself, I spent a long time attempting to "be" a butch lesbian, because I believed that I could never really be a guy even if I transitioned, and I would never be satisfied with who I could be. It wasn't good enough anymore. I let things get to the point where it became life and death and I wasn't able to survive the way I was anymore. It's five years after I first watched her videos and I'm beginning to socially transition and I'm starting T soon. Would've saved me years of pain and therapy if I'd gotten the right information sooner.

But even though this has happened so many times and the detentions have done nothing, they still use the same punishments. It’s so frustrating because my friend has gone through a lot and they don’t deserve it, they’re a really nice person. In fact I don’t think anyone deserves transphobia.
