Sr10 for Reclimet discount 👍 happy Easter
Glad we were able to help. Thank you for the kind words.
This is exactly why we subscribe lads. No dressing things up for TH-cam, just honest including the lows along with the highs.
5 years of solid SR UK
Congrats fellas
You could see oil on the floor when you went to get the car.
There’s no way that seller didn’t know the engine was seized and a big hole in the sump! Why can’t people be honest! Shame you didn’t see the hole before committing to buying it or test the engine. Oh well. Good luck with the repairs.
Yep typical bull$hitters
His wife was driving, he was half cut. I’m sure the fact oil would have been pouring out the sump would have been mention by the recovery truck driver at the scene, but who’s to say either of them has any mechanical knowledge…
I love the way you both take bad news on the chin, and crack on and fix it. Myself and im sure many others would throw the toys out of the pram😂 Fair play, good luck.
Depends.. if its crashed at night then been recovered and dropped off then they probably didn't know... the car was fucked anyway so it's not like they were going to go round and carry out an inspection
Moment I saw the state of the radiator I figured something had gouged up the underside. Of course easy to diagnose from the sofa when you have the video title as your guide.
he must of cleaned the massive oil-slick off his driveway before you got there...
[oil leaks out of damaged engines for months]
good job you are a lucky boy...
keep up the excellent work chaps
In a recovery yard
Shameful people there’s no way they didn’t know that, love the way Rob is still so upbeat about the whole situation . You guys are true troopers!
I don’t have much of a technical knowledge of the excellent work you lads do, but the customer experience between Reclamet and Copart is night and day and they deserve all praise and exposure you give them.
I would understand if it was from salvage auction, ups and downs, rough with the smooth. But from a private seller… there no way they didn’t know about that engine being toast
How would they know they’re not mechanics? It’s been in a recovery yard for over a month. If they’d have known they would have told me
Really Rob! Come on you were fully aware and bought it for nixies, nobody can be that silly can they, particularly one who’s been around in the business as long as your good self!
Got it for nixies what planet are you on this car was a lot of money many thousands of pounds so why make a silly comment like that if I had known I would have offered less clearly
Hi rob will be a nice car when done keep the original autobox with car as its coded to the car@@sruk
Unbelievably good fortune with that engine so quickly. Tremendous. Well done gentlemen.
Your positive attitudes just always blows my mind. 😀😀😀
He’s wife was driving,a likely story lol🙄😂
I'm surprised the owner didn't realise the engine was seized, but got to give the benefit of the doubt, and very good luck sourcing a replacement. Reclamet saves the day
The car was registered in March 2019 according to your check, but it had the crash in November 2022 with no MOT recorded, which is probably explainable but to me it looks like the car had no MOT at the time of the accident.
What a stroke of luck getting that complete engine, the old saying boys you only get what you deserve. You treat people how you want to be treated. Brilliant vid lads looking forward forward to the next one.
The previous keeper knew full well that motor was seized. With a hole in the sump that big it would have dumped it’s oil in a matter of seconds and probably whilst travelling at some speed. 😔
It was sat in a recovery yard for a month and no he didn’t know
@@sruk oh really Rob, then I stand corrected.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate Robs (really) white trainers and how they stay so clean 😂😂
Another good video under your belt chaps
Rob buys far more winners than losers to keep Chris busy. Unlucky this time. What a nice partnership on mutual respect.
Having dealt with the public for decades and read some comments, don't forget Hanlon's razor "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"
In future when you go to purchase salvage take a socket set check if it turns over before buying
Wow, Reclamet certainly saved the day with this one!! I cannot wait for the next few videos on this vehicle - as always it should be some excellent content. Well done Rod and Chris! 😊
Thought I could see oil staining under the car at the beginning of the video
So i think the large oil puddle underneath the car at the house told it all really and they must have known about the engine but just my opinion, hope you got this one cheap as looks alot of work,Rob made ne laugh as they was both looking underneath he was pointing out even more damage to try and lighten the mood🤔🙈🤣🤣hope youve had a god weekend guys👍
Can't wait to see this one. That's the gamble you take but great result. I made sure I watched all the ads, as I thought you may need the extra pennies. But reclamet came to the rescue!
Just over 1 minute into the video Rob is filming the front end.. I think a pool of oil can be seen on the drive.
The owner of that did you up like a kipper.
Don’t be daft like I say time and time again they are all a risk and we will be ok with this
So lucky they had another car in stock with the same engine, looking forward to seeing this car come together 😊
What a coincidence eh 👍
Just saw you at the stag meet today, was going to say high but you was with your friends so thought I’d not disturb your morning
Always say hello 🙋♂️
Reclamet to the rescue indeed, they certainly saved this build ,cheers guys ,looking forward to this one 👍💪😉
I ran into the problem with an A5 1.8 TFSi Black Edition from that place beginning with C, it had a plastic sump which had been cracked and then ran until it seized solid. I did rebuild the engine and fitted a steel sump and my Daughter is still driving it and loves it.
Love the way you guys never swore and took engine situation on the chin! Looking forward to seeing how you progress with this one. Good luck!
Great Video, Rob. Thanks so much.
Blimey guys, didn't think for a minute you were gonna pull back on this one, top effort - it's definitely going to make for a great come back video!!! 👏
Fair play for taking on that kind of damage!
Talk about coming up smelling roses !!!! Brillant end to a disastrous start ! ......love it ! Well done Guys 💕
Sad that someone sold you guys that like that. They knew the engine was seized. What comes around goes around for them.
They didn’t bud and it was a bargain
Reclamet to the rescue again. You were meant to get that car and repair it. Yes you have had to buy the engine and gearbox. I think I would leave the two together in case the other gearbox was damaged in some way. Await the updates on this. Good Luck Rob and Chris. By the way why have you not brought a bigger recovery truck as more and more of what you buy are a lot heavier than the current transporter can deal with?
They stitched you up like a kipper lads
Not sure if anyone has said yet but keep your gearbox lads. It will be coded to the car and have component protection.
You could swap mechatronic unit over but if your box is fine then keep that.
Original gearbox will almost certainly be coded to the car
Fantastic recovery, you guys are the best and I'm sure everyone loves watching you guys. Looking forward to the next one 😀
Good luck guys, hope it goes well from now on.
Ouch that’s taken a whack. Good luck with it. Lovely car all fixed up.
Lol
What a result, cant wait to see this finished, well done lads 👏
Really pleased for you!
Nice car from a honest seller
Yes even when it rains , The sun will come out for you guys.
Appreciate your positivity as ever - that's the way to get it fixed. Wondered if Reclamet had any non-Copart salvage vehicles you could economically buy/fix?
I am glad you found that replacement engine so soon amongst other components. At the start of the video and midway,I thought you were going to sell it as a donor car inorder to get your money back.Looking foward to see the next video on this project.
You guys are great to watch.
Brilliant content, now this is why I love the channel. Keep up the good work lads.
You boys always see the best in people and your end up pulling out the bag good luck with this project 👏
Reclamet saves the day going to be stunning when complete 👌👌👌
Glad you’re going ahead with the repair and engine replacement. Looking forward to the videos
Good luck witrh the Audi Q5 guys. Very lucky you found that engine and gear box with similar mileage.
What a touch getting the engine and bits from reclamet 😁😎🤩
WOW. You two are so clever and being brilliant at recycling car's which is great. I love watching your videos. So fantastic. Hope you both had a lovely Easter. Take care.
Another great video. And despite the unexpected damage a great car to save
Didnt you see the pool of oil under the car on its drive noticed it straight away
What a touch from reclaimat. That's a big lump of an engine. Think you saved a fortune in just gaskets and auxillary stuff. Keeping the box and engine together sounds like a better plan.
Hi Rob and Chris, wow, that couldn't have worked out any better. Gonna enjoy following this rebuild. Alex.
Happy Easter 🐣 guys I think these surprises on salvage rebuilds really makes your channel sit out at the top of the league 😊 Like Chris said a quarter panel fixes are awesome 👏🏻
Great video guys looking forward to seeing it repaired 🙏🙏
Good luck with this one guys! Great job getting that engine 😀😀
Nice one guys, thank god for Reclamet!, now you can put that jig-saw back together! 😉
If anyone can fix it you boys can! Looking forward to this series.
I know its horrible for you when you get one like this but its really interesting for us when you repair it though Rob!
Well done lads! always a positive in every negative and you had a touch of look there! looking forwards to this series .

Great video 📹 as usual fellas I am glad to see 👀 that you got the main parts for this one that's the best thing about you and Chris you are not afraid of taking a gamble and the hard graft that comes along with the motor's you buy. Take care and stay lucky and healthy 👍 looking forward to Wednesday's video 📹 already 😊 ❤
Rob , you've come up smelling of roses again ! Well done mate.
What a right score finding a decent engine so quick. Looking forward to seeing you squeeze that lump in.

Your very lucky with that purchase you fell on your feet good on you.
to be honest when i seen the audi and the damage i think i would of been under it to check it before purchasing but nothing phases you guys and being unrecorded its worth doing and great content for the channel.

Glad it worked out well for you lads.....😊
Your so lucky to find a replacement engine 👍
Hi chris and rob like myself and all the other watchers we are sure you can turn this around but alot of hard work involved on this one lads but as you say it is what it is so onwards and upwards .... hope you dont find too many other gremlins in the works wish you all the luck on this audi right behind you waiting on the next video!
I think you can see the oil on the ground at 1,06
Guy's great attitude love it you stayed positive and they can't all be winners but I hope you don't have to many more problems because there is still a lot of man hours in that car.
