The car didn't come with it, I read up and found out that a Ford Kuga steering wheel with paddle shifts would work on my car, straight out he box so to speak, without any wiring changes, its already built into the wiring harness from factory!

  • @RltchieI
    @RltchieI 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    Those door edge protectors were an optional extra & probably the only one I didn’t get for my Titanium X, I never scuffed my door but kind of wish I’d got them. It looks like Titanium X with a few of the options. I don’t see the radar on the front so don’t know if it is fully optioned out. Panoramic was an optional extra, those 17” alloys were optional but became standard for the X in 2020. Other options were parking assist, blind spot assist, cross traffic assist, CD player which went in the manual shelf of the glove box & heated seats/steering wheel. Pre 2020 you couldn’t get a spare wheel because the B&O sub was in the spare bay, but post 2020 they moved the sub to the side wall of the boot on the right so you lost the little cubby hole but gained the option of a spare limp wheel.
    Hopefully the eco boost is one that was switched to a timing chain rather than the timing belt as wet belt failures are becoming problematic especially on automatics. Even ones with timing chains aren’t fully out of the woods as the oil pump is still wet belt driven & may tear up and fail causing engine damage.
    It’s a shame the owner didn’t treat the car better, it deserves a better owner.

    • @richardhaywoodh
      @richardhaywoodh 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In 2019 Ford produced Focus and Fiesta models with a revised EcoBoost engine that uses a timing chain rather than a belt, so it is possible that the example you are looking at is fitted with a chain but you would need to confirm this either by checking yourself or asking the dealer to confirm this for you.

    I think that MOT centres should have to add a photo of the speedo at each test to show what the mileage showed at the test. This would help for those times when the tester puts the wrong mileage into the system due to "fat fingers" and you have to question it later.

    • @kay110
      @kay110 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a similar problem that the MOT tester reversed two numbers a few years ago. I've had the car since new, but the mileage check now shows the discrepancy.

    • @Thisistrulyoddtv_Mark
      @Thisistrulyoddtv_Mark 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But that wouldn’t work because the photos of the fiesta they have would then on pictures show 22,000 and odd because it was set on the wrong setting as one point but mistake as he said in the video showing kilometers not mileage by mistake so if was on a photo it would show the 22,000 and odd making it still look like that’s what it truly was and would look like it was right at the time of them Doing it

    • @evilutionltd
      @evilutionltd 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Thisistrulyoddtv_Mark This simply isn't true. Legally, all speedo odometer figures must show what units of measurement they are displaying. On this model you can see at 18:23 that the odometer reading ends "mls" where, if it was showing in kilometres it would have a km suffix.

    That steering lock issue ( not releasing ) is a very common issue on 2017 to 2018 age range fiesta’s ….. seems to only happen when battery goes dead flat …… will normally resolve itself once battery has been fully recharged / replaced with possibly another battery reset once it’s recharged & clearing a few associated fault codes ……. I’m in the breakdown industry ( yellow lot ) and I see this issue fairly often ….. nice little car apart from the love it or hate it colour & bloody awful wet belt engine ….. whoever designed & signed those engines off as fit for purpose needs several hard slaps 😂😂

Well done to Aden once again for his brilliant work even though it took him a bit longer than usual. I'm smiling as I was a Launch Manager at Ford on the Fiesta program just before I retired, so I'm partly responsible :) The wet belt is a problem, but properly serviced with correct oil spec helps, but not always, and Ford have announced assistance. And without being defensive, other manufacturers have numerous issues. I bought a VW camper recently and research shows numerous issues on later models, engine and gearbox failures below 100K. Just saying. ps. great vid as usual, keep up the good work.

    Nice detective work on the mileage records make, if you send all the proof off to Car Vertical they will revise the records. I had that with my 2018 3008 GT 180 recently as it looked like the previous owner clocked the car between MOT's but after a few calls to the Peugeot garage a manager had access to the old records & they saw the job card numbers were entered under the mileage. Car Vertical sorted it for me & gave me a free check as goodwill. Love this Fiesta, and am VERY TEMPTED myself

    I think the UK should abandon the metric system and just re-standardize on Imperial. Avoid mileage mis-reporting issues. 😊

    It's a terrible thing Ford dropped the Fiesta, especially when you see so many Vauxhall Corsa cars on the road, there must still be a demand for the supermini. I have to agree with others, the colour is a very desired taste Rob.

      I think it came down to EU laws with emission penalties, standard fit safety equipment and they make more profit on the Puma SUV based on the same car.

      @@pb5x5Ford also said they couldn’t make the figures work anymore. I bought a Titanium was £17K back in 2018, so they must be a fair bit more now, and that’s a lot of money for a supermini size car, so I can kind of see their point. Manufacturing costs have gone exponentially up since the pandemic.
