Freddie, looking at The Wurks videos, I do hope you will be seeking reimbursement from Kingdom Motorcycles. They have committed all manner legal and moral codes not to mention ripping you off financially. They clearly did not do the work necessary, or replace most of the parts you were charged for. Apologies for the negativity but I’ve just experienced a similar set of circumstances. Seeing The Wurks video ( ie. how it should be done) it’s opened old wounds. These people need naming and shaming to make them think twice before they repeat their sins. A collaboration with the black best barrister would make good viewing. Looking forward to further progress on the Bonnie. I have sufficient mechanical knowledge to be sure you will be getting a better reborn version back for The Wurks, what a fine chap he is👍👍
6th February 2024 and I just went back to rewatch this after seeing Jo on the Wurks channel diagnosing the cam timing issues and the loose spark plug etc. Oh, dear. Freddie, you must really document all these problems and seek redress from who ever did such shoddy work. I know you would have happily paid £5000 to get your bike back but, man, someone saw you coming
Yeah you'll need some tassels on that jacket Freddie. Seriously, so pleased you got the Triumph back though. I can't needyou'd it was so hard to get such a seemingly small part eh. Crazy. Fingers crossed you've got many happy and reliable miles in front of you now :)
Freddie after 54 years of riding I've found the secret for motorcycle longevity regardless of brand (excluding KTM) is regular maintenance, replacing wear items before they break, and keeping the bikes clean. Having good brand longevity DNA is helpful but doesn't cover up for poor maintenance. I have seen many brand models with generally poor reputations that go on forever when lovely looked after.
Go on Freddie you know that Monica deserves that Jimny 😆 She follows you around on your bikes, the least you can do is give her the car of her dreams! Let’s face it they’re ultimately a proper mini Defender 👍
Well if all their money is separate and he can afford it without effecting his finances in anyway i would say go for it. . Me and my partner have combined finances. People keep saying I should buy her this and that but truth is its our money.
12:39 Having Monika said "Welcome back Bonnie" made the video 100 times more special 🎉 I was looking forward for "The Return of the King" video. Enjoy you new bike for many miles 😊
Fantastic seeing you back on the Bonnie! Sounds like a great opportunity to have a special trip together to heal both wounds (you and offcourse the Bonnie itself) from the last few months. Or just to celebrate being reunited! Greatings from the Netherlands, Gert
@@FreddieDobbsActually, the small roads are pretty good in the Netherlands. I recommend a tour of Zealand coming off the ferry in Zeebrugge and passing via Brugge, then going north to Walcheren, Middelburg, Veere, Zierikzee … eating poffertjes with a coffee and later bitterballen, herring …
I just bought a new Jimny van for 19 and had back seats fitted by the excellent Woodstock motors in Whitney who have 20 of them for sale. I love it so much it's almost like a pet !
Congrats on getting the Bonnie back. I had a Silver Jimny Sz5 from new in 2020 up until last year covering 12k miles... until the lure of getting £7k more than I paid for it (from we buy any car) was too much and I sold up. I absolutely loved the Jimny. Full of character, super cool retro looks, received plenty of attention and always put a smile on my face whether I was driving it or simply looking at it on the drive. Driving wise it wasn't so great, short trips were fine, but limited practically so I always had the rear seats down for extra load space. Access to the rear couldn't have been easier to load and unload. 4 wheel drive through deep snow in the Highlands it was unstoppable. Side winds were scary shoving the car about and a little wallowy on the corners. On longer drives come the downsides, plenty of in cabin noise and the gear box really needs another gear as it felt strained even at 70! I suppose what's to be expected when driving a car with the aerodynamic properties of a brick 😂. I can forgive all this though and whenever I see one now I just wish I hadn't sold it.
I have a Jimny here in New Zealand. The first new car I've ever had. They are absolutely brilliant and so much fun to drive. A very capable little off road beast too. If I need to go fast I have my motorcycle though!
ah, for all the troubles and mishaps, the bonneville remains a beautiful and sturdy bike. Its carried you to so many lovely locations while pushing as hard as it could despite some unlucky faults. timeless, reassuring, and calming.
My son lives in Reykjavík in Iceland where the Jimny is really popular. Every time I visit I yearn for one, in fact there is a bright yellow one that caught my eye. If you ever fancy a bike trip there I’m sure my son would be happy to assist, he has done numerous bike rides out into the wilds, he even wrote about a trip he did which was published in a biker magazine. The Bonnie looks amazing now it is clean and back up and running.
Hi Freddie, you have to understand the reason why Monika is so in love with THIS Suzuki: it is about the "baby factor"! This model looks like the old legendary SUV Mercedes "G"- model but shrinked to a baby doll size, It´s so cuddly and cute to ring all bells of mothers instincts she simply can not resist. But I am also truly impressed by the perfect to scale down sized dimensions of the "G -model" without losing this special bold look,
Freddie, I feel with you so much! My bike broke down at the end of February due to a defective ECU and thanks to the mechanic's incompetence I just got it back two weeks ago. Missed the entire riding season and paid 1250 € for the repair, but the excitement of being able to ride again is so soothing. And I'll even be able go on a short trip with my girlfriend next week. Enjoy your Bonnie. Despite the many opportunities to test out and experience different bikes nothing compares to the one you chose to call your own.
Many moons ago, I owned a 1988.5 Suzuki Samuria. It was a rag top, full frame, 1.3 litre engine. Had it for 12 years. It had the number 3 cylinder break a piston at the oil ring at 140,000 miles. I gave it my bother inlaw, and he replaced the piston, had a valve job done, and it is still running today with over 200k on the clock. It is a little rusty, but still going. 😎
Retired expat living in Thailand 5 1/2 years. Got rid of all my "stuff" when i came here and havent accumulated any. Feels great not having any useless junk i never used.
I lost my summer this year to my 2022 T120 black. Porous crank cases was my diagnosis! I took 3 months before getting the bike back only to find that it still wasn't 100%. I ended up with a full refund from Triumph, which I then went and spent on an R nineT. I very much lived this experience alongside you Freddie. I'm pleased as punch to see it working out for you.
I have a silver Jimny that I picked up brand new two weeks ago. Suzuki still sell an LCV version with no rear seats but they’re like rocking-horse sh1t to get your hands on one. I can’t recommend them enough though. Simple, extremely capable and mine just makes me smile. Cheers you two.
This new jimny is also my dream car. It is so suitable for small bali roads. My gosh that silver color is stunning! they don't come in silver in Indonesia.
I had a 2005 kawasaki KXF250 motocross bike that like your Bonny was in the garage for several months a few years back now! It needed a new lower crank case that had to be ordered from Japan. It cost me nearly £2000 to fix and the bike was not worth that. I didn’t care I was so happy to have it back again.
Hey Freddie, I've never seen you happier. We can all relate. You can't beat riding your own bike, no matter how many "free" ones you are offered for test. Happy days.
my engine cut out 8 miles from home today, had a two hour wait on the Sandiacre Interchange (A52/M1) for the AA, he couldn't get it started so we towed my bike back home, unloaded it and just because, I tried the engine again... and it bloody started!
Great to see your Bonnie back. 800 pounds repair bill including parts, labor and tax. They did you well. At the dealership I work at here in the US our labor charge alone is $110 an hour. As for the little Suzuki. Do the right thing Freddie. Keep Monica happy and buy her her dream car.
I just watched this, and was amazed at the Triumph spares situation. I ride a 40 year old Honda, shaft drive, U.S model. Its head gasket began to weep so I ordered a new one. A complete top end gasket set, set me back £45, and was delivered in five days. In case you ever wondered why Triumph went bust the first time around. I’m going to close the toilet door while the shit hits the fan. Love your Vlogs.
There's definitely something about the 865, air cooled Bonnies, Thruxtons, Scramblers. They do get under your skin. I'm so pleased that you are reunited with yours. I continue to enjoy my much modified Scrambler and my dear wife's T100. Off to 'Tenerife on Triumph' next month. Can't wait!
I actually got a little emotional when you got it back. Feels like you have been through a lot with the bike and thankfully taken us all along with you.
I’m the original owner of my 1993 Wrangler. Unfortunately the JIMNY isn’t for sale in USA…. A great video, my wife and I love to watch your videos over ☕️
I had to pull a Jimny out of the mud once. Stuck up to it's axles and unable to move, I backed a 1979 Internationational Scout up to it, attached chains to a good point in it's front end and pulled it out. It seems the jimny is cute as all getout, but is pretty gutless and needed a big V8 to pull it out. I do believe the fellow who owned it had burnt the clutch to almost uselessness in his attempts.
ps; Sell the Triumph, buy yourself a 1950s Royal enfield bullet. You will never be bikeless again, spares are cheap, insurance cheap and no Ulez? ( Just kidding ) However, Im in the trade. When you wee reading out the "bill" I was guessing " a grand" with parts and labour imho 800 was pretty good incl MOT 8 hours labour ! AND "machining" of the head !
Great stuff Freddie! So happy you’re back with the Bonnie! If no one else has put a bid in for that gasket I’d appreciate having it. I have an 865 Bonnie and I’m keeping her forever!
Just to let you know that my Honda cb 500s which was bought new in 2001 and has been treated quite harshly has covered over 140,000 miles. It's on its original clutch, waterpump silencer and many more parts .
Fantastic to have the Bonnie back; there's something special about having your own bike back. I used to have a Suzuki Vstrom 650, 2010 K9, and it was a brilliant bike. Sadly it was written off when I was rear-ended, but I did get it back after a month of riding an MT09 Tracer. The Tracer was a beast, far faster and more exciting and on paper more competent all round, but the elation of getting MY Vstrom back was unparalleled. That said, as a viewer it's been a lovely 120 days of not having to hear that exhaust rattle so perhaps you can round that repair bill off to a nice thousand and get a new silencer too haha 😉
You can't put a price on some things. And your feelings for your bike are one of them.. Great to see the Bonnie back on the road. It needs a name. I always name mine, and talk to them. Ride safe and happy travels 👍
Congrats on getting the Bonnie back - and very well done the guys that sourced and sent you gaskets. When I saw you striding towards the Mazda dealership and talking about Monica's dream car I thought it was going to be a sexy little MX5 sports car! I couldn't believe it when you stopped by that Suzuki thing!
Wow!! Suzuki!! I have a 2003 Suzuki Caribean. Runs great. Currently in the shop getting some rust spots fixed. Cant wait to get it back. Paid about 4,800 pounds for it four years ago. Could probably sell it for about the same.
Congratulations! 830+ pounds is great value! I spent more than that on my annual service and heated grips for my Speedmaster! :-) I also love how much Monika shares your enthusiasm. Now… any chance you will finally replace that exhaust? :-) Enjoy your “new” Bonnie!
Glad you're reunited with the Bonnie, it's a shame the gaskets aren't more easily available from Triumph? One of my bikes is a 23 year old SV650 Suzuki and all the genuine spares are still available. As for longevity I also have a 2014 Vstrom 650 which I've done 65,000 miles on with no issues, if you service your bikes regularly and look after them they'll not let you down, Anyway enjoy riding the Bonnie again! 🙌👍
Great to see you have the Bonnie back. Monica has good taste they still have the Suzuki in Australia but they are so popular they go for ludicrous prices.
So happy for you! I started watching your channel about a year ago and saw several videos of you and this bike on touring adventures. For the past several months I have enjoyed watching you ride all manner of other loaner bikes but I'm excited to see where you and Monica will be off to on your beloved Bonny. Cheers from the US!
All the doubts you might have been starting to get as the months passed by are all swiped under the rug upon the return of your bike. Crazy how deeply connected and attached we can get to our machines. Lovely video as always, plenty of giddy giggles from Monica, more of that please... :). Can hardly wait for the next video with reinvigorated love for the Bonnie. See you in the next one F&M xxx
We have one of the previous Jimnys, bought it new in 2003 so it is 20 years old. It has been very reliable having only had a clutch replacement & a new exhaust in all that time. It has only done about 47,000 miles but has now started to rust badly so it may be retired soon! It has been a great car to own though, cheap to run and cheap to insure. I just wish I had £26K to buy the one in your film. Great to see the Bonnie back.
Congratulations on getting your bike back, I can tell you are overjoyed! Suzuki Jimny is a popular car here in Australia, roughly $30k AUD brand new, which is around 16k pounds.
Congrats on getting your Bonnie back, Freddie. You look like a little boy getting his favourite toy for Christmas. Good to see the Bonnie back, as a viewer, I have also missed it....
Initially I was confused by Your phrase "can you MOT it for me" because in my country, Latvia that is, there is one government controlled institution that does MOT for all vehicles including cars. Independent shops can't MOT anything here. That avoids any chance of corruption, since it's neutral institution and it's made so that you do not know, which gates and guy will check your car, it's selected randomly by computer as soon as you enter the place. And since country is super small, usually queues are ~1h max. Congrats on getting bonny back on road, beautiful bike and reunion.
Freddie, you deserve full marks for your persistance getting your bonnie fixed. I think you were a bit emotional about its return to you 🥲 and that's good too. What made this video for me was your description of modern vehicles being bloated. I loved that decription as it hits the nail on the head.
Hi Fred, when u read the bill out the last thing you mentioned the head as I was thinking what’s been done about the plug thread -phew. Keep one of those gaskets as someone will be able to make another with a cnc using that as a pilot. Let’s hope she’s a good girl now, I think you got off light with the price well done kingdom. I can tell you suzuki cars are fantastically reliable. I’ve had a few as have my daughters. Mot the Jimney but not for long motorways unless you want to travel at 60…think you should spoil Monica though
I can relate so much with the feeling you have when you wait 3 months + to ride your motorcycle. 2 weeks ago the mechanic called that the bike is ready, it was since July it was sitting broken after a change of spark plugs went wrong 😂. I couldn't believe I could ride it again. Funny part, I got used to riding the loud AF ninja 250R of my brother, and didn't realize how old my kawasaki kle 500 is. Shakes like a wet towel, you need to open the choke every time you want to start it because it is carbureted, smells gasolione every time you start it, doesn't brake at all, suspension is like the 60s Cadillac landyacht. But has so much character and a natural ABS all the time, and can deal with any hole in the Road
837 pounds is a great deal for all that labor! I was charged $800 just to install some engine and handlebar guards, a gear indicator, and adjust the suspension
The off the scale pricing happened downunder as well due to short supply of most 4WD's. Suzuki buyers were paying well in excess of $50,000 AUD for same Suzuki that was around low 30's in 2020/21. (crazy stuff)
Well, that's put a smile on your face Freddie. 😂 It's a lovely bike. Glad you've got it back. Hopefully get some nice riding days in October to enjoy it. Please post some videos.
Can't believe the trouble you had finding that gasket for a bike that's not too long out of production. I think parts are actually easier to source for an old 60s/70s Bonneville
I’m glad you have it back! I had the same gasket on backorder for a Suzuki TS 250 X in the late eighties, it took over a year to show up in Luxembourg. I sold the bike as a heap of parts and cut my losses and moved on.
Magnum PI - Red Ferrari The Hoff - Knight Rider Freddie Dobbs synonymous with....? Black Bonnie. You know it! Glad to see it back!! (My friend got hit by a wild driver just in front of his rear wheel on a Suz Jimmy. Rolled 4 times...in a 60kmh zone. Not safe.😢)
Congratulations - finally you have your bike back. Now with all that's happened I think it would be good if you shared an update with us - about whether the gaskets are still unobtainium or if the supply chain has been fixed. Since this spare parts thing has become such an issue it would be great to hear if Triumph are showing the right attitude in fixing the shortages.
Congratulations on getting your bike back just in time for the British winter... Can't believe that 'zorst is road legal! They'll moan about a non-standard number plate but let you get away with a funky exhaust like that one! Cool.
I bought my wife a 98 (17 years ago now) Suzuki jimney it was 3 grand lovely little car, but when we were traveling back to Peterborough from the peak district the steering split pin went and we could hardly steer the car, we just managed to get home, but that was a common problem apparently. 4 quid split pin.
Hey Freddie and Monika. Great to see the Bonneville back home, even though an entire summer of riding was lost. Hopefully you will never again need a head gasket. Cheers, and ride safe. Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦

Hi Freddie, nice to see you are so happy to have your bike back. Three months for a head gasket just seems insane. But i know zero about bikes.
$110 is about £90, but there's no way that they charged him that rate given the rest of the bill. They definitely worked cheap!
Agreed, for the work he had done It seemed very reasonable.
£85 + vat/tax an hour in London so the bill with parts was good.
Good to see your Bonneville back, and always good to hear Monika’s laugh in the background.
Enjoy.

i divide the cake in similar proportions for my as well makes for a happy life , the jimnys have a great rep

Congratulations on getting you Bonneville back
I can't believe you ignored the VFR750F!
Wow! Monica's Mom's allotment is looking just like a Lithuanian country garden!
That was my Jimny from new. 18.5k brand new. 6 months on the waiting list. I have a few bits to add on if interested?
So happy for you Freddie, finally this situation comes to an end! Now enjoy your Bonnie with Monika! 🏍️💨
Congratulations having your Triumph back......Kid with new Toy comes to mind Freddie...
Wow!!
I also love how much Monika shares your enthusiasm.
Now… any chance you will finally replace that exhaust? :-)
Enjoy your “new” Bonnie!
Glad you're reunited with the Bonnie, it's a shame the gaskets aren't more easily available from Triumph?
One of my bikes is a 23 year old SV650 Suzuki and all the genuine spares are still available. As for longevity I also have a 2014 Vstrom 650 which I've done 65,000 miles on with no issues, if you service your bikes regularly and look after them they'll not let you down,
Anyway enjoy riding the Bonnie again! 🙌👍
Great to see you have the Bonnie back. Monica has good taste they still have the Suzuki in Australia but they are so popular they go for ludicrous prices.
Hi Freddie
Followed your channel for some time now just wanted to say welcome back to Bonnie.
All the best John
Can only imagine the excitement, pick up my bike from 3 months of storage and servicing in a few days. Can’t wait.
Suzuki Jimny is a popular car here in Australia, roughly $30k AUD brand new, which is around 16k pounds.
oh my..., Monika and I have the same taste. I'd also love to own a little Suzi Box on Wheels So cute and practical.
So pleased that you have your Bonnie back. Enjoy riding it again.
Happy for you Freddie now that you're reunited with your Bonneville.
Luv it ……..when Monica said “ welcome back Bonnie” 😊
thats pure delight on your face there Freddie - glad its finally back
Great to see the Bonnie back on the road and your love for it still there and renewed for getting it back, great video
A fab send out to the guys at the garage to get you back on the bonnie again.....look forward to the next film guys. . 😊😊
Loving the jacket Freddie ! I’ve been working overseas for 2 months now . Home next week to my bikes can’t wait !!
I am very happy for you Freddie. I hope you continue the realtionshio with this wonderful bike. I love your jacket by the way! Take care.
Always like seeing the Fiat make an appearance. Glad you got your Bonneville back! Love how everyone helped you to get the bike back on the road. 😊
Wow, that was a wait and a half! Fingers crossed it'll behave for a while now...
Congratulations on the return of your bonnie I bet it’s like a reunion with an old friend
iwas going to take the day off , but thanks to Freddie i think ill go down my workshop....
I’m glad you have it back! I had the same gasket on backorder for a Suzuki TS 250 X in the late eighties, it took over a year to show up in Luxembourg. I sold the bike as a heap of parts and cut my losses and moved on.
Magnum PI - Red Ferrari
The Hoff - Knight Rider
Freddie Dobbs synonymous with....?
Black Bonnie.
You know it! Glad to see it back!!
(My friend got hit by a wild driver just in front of his rear wheel on a Suz Jimmy. Rolled 4 times...in a 60kmh zone. Not safe.😢)
Nice to see the Bonnie back and have some more good times
It’s so good to see you back together - normal service is resumed!
You are a bigger man than I am, I would have sold that bike and never touch a Triumph in my life ! 🙂
Hey Freddie and Monika. Great to see the Bonneville back home, even though an entire summer of riding was lost. Hopefully you will never again need a head gasket. Cheers, and ride safe. Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Good to see you got it back, the shiny things are not spark plug tops it's the air injection which is better taken off
Nice one, what a wait, your time has come, just enjoy the moment, and the time to come
Great to see you back on the Boni Freddie, !! Just keep the bike legal then theres never an issue!!!!
