For future reference I worked in car body repair a long time ago and the most effective way of removing stripes , stickers and badges from vehicles is to boil a kettle and pour the water over it. This melts the glue but not the sticker and does not damage paintwork. You won’t get the entire sicker off in one go but it’s the best way 👍

A heat gun is considerably hotter than a hair dryer and I think that's what you need. Cautiously since, you know - fuel. The proper fix after getting that off is to wetsand (at least) the area around where the old tank badger used to be, then re-clear the tank, use compound to grind it down and then a polish - and then put on the new badgers. Probably. Realistically, it probably would be best to just repaint the whole thing.

Freddie, You really need to tighten the leads on your Triumph battery with a 10mm spanner or socket and not just a screwdriver, the vibration will loosen the connections and eventually cause loss of power and starting problems.

When I was taking the vinyl stripes off my campervan, I used freshly-boiled water trickled over the bit I was peeling. The advantage with using boiling water is that it never gets hotter than 100°C, so you won't scorch the paint.

Freddie, I ride a 2015 Triumph America, as you likely know the exact same engine as your T100. I’m from Canada but I ordered a set of slip on pipes from your countryman at Maverick Customs and have deleted the AIS. I can say that as far as the tone of the exhaust note and the performance of the bike itself this is definitely the way to go and you should give that a try. It will transform your experience to something more raw and visceral, what a Triumph should be.

Just be aware that if you change the exhaust you’re probably going to have to rejet / retune depending on whether you have carbs or EFI. Another reason for the lumpiness may be due to the bike sitting for so long without being run. Modern fuel has a higher water content, which means it deteriorates quicker than traditional fuel. This could well have gummed up your injectors or jets slightly. I’d try a capful of redex in each tank fill for a few cycles. Seafoam would also work as well 👍

Freddie, I currently own, maintain, and occasionally repair my 1988 BMW K75 with 88k+ miles, my 2002 BMW R1150GS eith 62k + miles and most recently my 2017 Ducati Monster 797. Knowing how the decal was applied to the tank (before or after the clear coat) is critical to how the decal should be removed! Using E10 will likely not immediately damage your engine but used continuously it may. It is wise to run the manufacturers recommend octane and never lug the engine. I would expect your Bonnie to run properly after repair and wouldn't settle for less. Best Regards, Dan

One tip - if you want to spend the admittedly sizeable amount of money - that headlight bucket would accommodate a 7 inch JW Speaker 8790 adaptive LED headlight reflector. They're also approved for use on the road. The adaptive lights turn on extra lights on the sides when you lean to light up the side of the road which helps a ton in the corners. They also have a vastly better low and high beam than the glorified candle that Triumph stuck on their bikes, seeing that yellow light in the video made me think of it. The install job is super easy - remove the chrome trim ring, detach the old reflector, attach the new reflector, plug in the cables and reattach the chrome trim ring (and reflector) and say hello to a super bright headlight. Of course they have a very distinctive look that might not please everyone on a classic style bike. A Truck-lite 27270c 7-incher looks a lot more "normal", though it would require a thicker trim ring since it protrudes a bit more. But putting a JW Speaker headlight on my Triumph was a game changer for night riding.

Not sure why the bike is down on power has it got new piston rings and got to be run in? Should be already on power? And E5 is ideally what you should use anyway.

couple of things mate...don't tank a charged fuel tank into your flat, cover that positive terminal a bit better..and you sadly will see some of the missing lacquer as your new badge won't cover it

Ride the bike in 2nd and 3rd gear for a while, high revs will get it running right. The cakes look great we don’t get real cream in Ontario Canada🇨🇦😎

Freddie, why the marigolds when doing the tank job?
Where you trying to protect your hands from possible petrol spills?
I am not skilled in the way of resprays or bodywork but the tank will need a bit of refinishing otherwise you might see lines showing through from the previous Triumph graphics?
Would very much like to see the finished product perhaps later in another video....👍

I'm assuming, that as you're trying to cut around the decal, that the new badge is bigger, or you would risk seeing cut marks. If this is the case, leave the decals, purchase some numberplate sticky pads and fit your new Triumph bages overtop.
My Super Meteor badges started coming off, couple of sticky pads later, job done. 👍

2 things,my OCD was going mad ,you have a bolt missing from your left hand side of the rack ,also you put the tank onto the garage floor without it being on a towel. Sorry for being picky

You know Freddie I always thought that exhaust sounded terrible. Now that Monica is onboard with a new one, it’s time to get a nice one. Or you could just wrap those pipes up with exhaust wrap, and buy a new muffler. Your gonna need a heat gun to get the tank sticker off. A hair dryer won’t get hot enough. And if you can find a bottle of Seafoam at a auto parts store. Pour alittle in your tank and it will run like new

For decal removal try using a 3m Stripe Off wheel, also known as caramel or toffee wheel. They're like an eraser on steroids and are designed to remove the decal without damaging the paintwork underneath. Don't know if it will be as effective with your lacquered logo but worth a try at only around £5.

Oh! Please, please don’t use the unleaded E10 again! Think of it this way (I’ve used this many times before and I think it’s the easiest way to explain the con that is the new fuel).
When you have a gin and tonic the gin is the bit that gives the flavour and that satisfying kick. The tonic is just there to add volume.
Same with E10. Now your G&T has been diluted even more so you need another to give you that same warm feeling.
E10 is 10% ethanol and you and I have already discussed where that comes from. It doesn’t help your car/bike and it you have an older car, it will do it no end of harm. Particularly if one has a carburettor because it rots the rubber seals. And don’t leave E10 in your tank over winter because it’ll turn to jelly, even in your petrol lawn mower.
And, this is important, because E10 fuel has less petrol, you end up using more. I’ve done the tests and I can confirm that’s true, for me at least.
I have a car (Porsche) that is highly tuned and if I was to dare to put E10 fuel in it, a light comes on the dashboard and the car goes into limp home mode. It’s a bit like the car is sulking.
So don’t do it. Don’t even put E10 in your Fiat! It will thank you in the long term.

Ethanol has less energy than petrol, but at 10% you will see maybe 1 or 2 mpg less. But the jelly story WTF? Not true, and the reason gas goes off is that it’s full of easily evaporated petrol fractions that were introduced when lead phased out. And the thing about rubber, well ethanol is the same as rubbing alcohol, and that doesn’t generally damage rubber
