- Hello welcome back to my current comfort character. Ghostbusters 2 is one of those controversial sequels (sequels are bad 👹😡) but I literally love it and it reminds me of my childhood and being deeply unsettled by the pink slime in the bathtub when I was little??? I swear that part unlocked a core memory bc I will forever associate this movie with that scene and idk why.

@@Slears it’s a children’s “toy”. It’s this thing made of metal that kinda resembles a spring and you’d kinda watch it,,, “slink” down the stairs? I don’t know how to really explain what it does, but it’s coiled metal, which is why it’s funny that he says he “straightened it”

*There's a part of The Videogame that I love, they go back to the Sedgewick Hotel because ghosts appeared again and Ray doesn't know why they're back if they cleaned the whole place years before and Egon's just like "New people die everyday."*

@@CvBrony The return to Sedgwick level, with the Spider Witch was the scariest level for me. Something about a demonic 1920’s murderous trying to kill me and Egon is just more unsettling than normal. It was a good choice to only have Egon by your side towards the end of the level.

I so love in Afterlife that Egon is the driving force even though he never clearly appears on screen. It is such a fitting tribute to Harold Ramis.

When the gloriousness that is Egon's hair starts blowing like there is a wind machine, you know there's trouble coming.
I love Egon, and McKenna Grace is perfect as Egon's granddaughter, Phoebe in Ghostbusters - Afterlife. She looks just like him with curly brown hair and the same glasses as Egon's. Harold Ramis plays Egon perfectly. It is almost as if he has a mild form of Asbergers Syndrome, especially in the first movie. He gets a bit more expressive in the second movie.
As a person w/ high-functioning Autism myself, I love to think of Egon as someone who has autism, too, since he’s a character I really love a lot and feel I relate to in certain odd ways, so it’s interesting to see someone who thought the same :))
@@julietontheinternet6091 I can relate. I grew up in a time when high-functioning autism wasn't diagnosed until later. I could solve puzzles really quickly but I didn't show much emotion. No one picked up on it. I couldn't believe it when I found your videos. Thanks for uploading them. It meant a lot to me.
@@julietontheinternet6091 Fellow Ghostbusters fan and person with Asperger's here. I agree that Egon does show quite a few traits of having Asperger's Syndrome. Ironically, Harold Ramis prior to getting into comedy was once an orderly at a mental health ward of a hospital, so I would imagine that he likely worked with quite a few patients on the Autism spectrum. Erik Burnham, the writer of the Ghostbusters comic book series even mentions Egon might have Asperger's in the character introduction of each issue he wrote.
Also, I noticed that, Dr. Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) shows a number of traits across both movies, The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series and the 2009 video game. Since Dan Aykroyd has Asperger's Syndrome in real life, it would not surprise me that he decided to write and play the character as a person on the spectrum.

Egon was my favorite character too. I have no idea if Harold Ramis was anything like the characters he played in the films he was in, but he's someone I would've liked to have been friends with regardless.
You need to do a 3rd part for Afterlife. We don't see Egon until the end of the film, but he basically became a massive troll ghost to his own family!
I was planning on doing this actually!! I just wanted to give it some time since Afterlife was still pretty new and I didn’t wanna spoil it too soon.

Ghostbusters 2 was the first film I saw in the cinema. I have always had more sentimental attachment to GB 2, but I love both films.
I saw it with my grandpa. So I always have a sentimental view for gb2.
So when I saw afterlife. The tears hit me hard at the end. I sat in the car crying after the movies made me miss my grandfather
Part 2 was my first movie as well.

god i loved these movies so much as a kid and still adore them. The humor, the serious moments, the drama, the ghosts and of course the greatest Egon. Even the 2009 game was amazing and its such an awesome series. Live seeing more of it, especially such quality stuff. 10/10 dude

Egon is my favourite character ion Ghostbusters, in the films and in the cartoon series, I love him. I think Ghostbusters 2 is an underrated gem, maybe it's because I saw it before I saw the first one, I don't seem to make the same unfavourable comparisons people often do.

I just wanted to say because of sudden development from Disneys 2012 "Frankenweenie", of young Victors talk with Mr. Rzykruski when he's leaving the school, this strongly connects with Egon's pure understanding of Science, of the Emotional Effects, and to those who don't understand it, like back in part 1-Walter Peck demanding to shut down Protection Grib when Egon and Venkman warned him not. From this I hoping to put a book together of mine, hopefully, I will finish it, you see I formulate connecting patterns between Sci-Fi's, of their strongest connections that seem very similar to each other.

plus when they Slime the Inside of the Statue of Liberty and get the Statue Moving they just had to go Across the Water because the Museum was on the Otherside of the Water but instead they took a Detour through Downtown before Arriving there!
